This is a phishing link and not the real ledger wallet. Your post is a bit confusing because you didn’t mention that this a different scam website to the official website of ledger. Although that Ledger have a controversy before they still didn’t turn into rogue hardware wallet address to scam all their customers blatantly.
Please reconstruct your thread so that newbie will not be mislead by your narrative. This scam “Ledger Firmware Update” is just another scam phishing attempt to impersonate the real Ledger Update. Besides Ledger user can safely update their hardware wallet through ledger live app without going to this kind of shady websites.
That's true, I've edited it as suggested, thanks for the observation, the website itself is a phishing site and has the target of doing the same they are talking about, we have to be more vigilant on websites, downloads and links as well as trying to avoid the use of ledger for privacy sake.
A wallet being open source does nit automatically mean that it is recommended for use. One would still have to assess the different options before choosing one to use. Being open source does not prevent phishing links from being generated and marketed to scam unsuspecting users, which is the case here.

You're also right, sometimes we need to have best recommendations from the community like this with their experience in using more than one type of hardware wallets, we can check also the only reviews, not only that, i think its more better to make use of the common and reputable brands of these hardware wallets than the ones we are not used to, its also our responsibility to make research before securing any for personal use.
