The continuous blackout in the country have made businesses both online and offline become difficult for people because a lot of business now requires steady light before success can be achieved and we all are aware of the high cost of petroleum products now and even sometimes, the sellers do hoard this products thereby making it difficult for people to get access to it and it causes scarcity. Now, I begin to think that since we are heading towards a digitized system now, it would be very important that we have light to power our online accessing systems always in other to get updated to the internet all the time and considering our hot weather here in Nigeria, I think the use of solar systems would be preferable though it's very costly but at least there are some solar systems that are still affordable and inasmuch as it can power our laptops, phones, gadgets and any other devices we can use to gain access to the Internet at least it would be a welcome development because even if one decides to use generators, there are times when your generator would just fail you unannounced then it would become a big disappointment in a case where you have something very important to do on the internet.

Most work from home people and churches that are good at managing cost has already shifted thier source of power to the use of solar for thier basic operation while they make use of NEPA or generator whenever they want to make use of heavy duty equipment that is above the strength of the panel they are using.

If you want to have a productive business that uses power on a regular, you already know that you can't depend on the kind of power we get from our power holding company. Most barbers shops have shifted to using rechargeable clippers due to the high cost of fuels am the people that are seriously suffering from the increase in the  price of fuel are the urber riders that don't really have an alternative to the use of petrol since most of the cars on our roads runs on petrol. I feel that if a good business person that has the needed capital leverage on the current shift in the economic situation ravaging the land and create an alternative to the dependence on this high prices that is being heavily regulated by a selected few, it's going to be easy for him to make huge profit out of it because so many person's are currently waiting to hear that  an affordable alternative to the PHCN has surfaced.

The solar system is a very good one to use but it is so sad that it is very expensive to afford it. Before now power generators has been so helpful to us but because of the price of fuel many people can't afford to use generators again but getting a solar is not easy but it is important to try every best to get it because it can also help. Bit their is nothing as good as electricity,  it is not every thing that solar can handle. Solar is just good for low appliances , so I think the government needs to try thier best to give electricity.

It's a very good suggestion because as a it is now, almost everybody in the country is looking for an alternative to drive down cost of what ever we want to do, but the major disadvantage to it is the price, it's too expensive,  it's not all businesses that have the capacity to acquired it, even in most organisation that are using it, it's not all appliances that can be use on it, so it also have it disadvantages.

 What I think that would be more ideal is if the price of our petroleum products most specially be crashed down to the lowest minimum, with that, everything  including consumables goods price will crash down, because I believe that the subsidy removal have more effect on the economy than dollar increase.

Solar energy has been an alternative for a very long time now the problem people have is just the price if not every one would've switch to it, currently in my location it's allege that the people here haven't seen napa light for almost three solid years and what marvels me is the fact that it's too close to port Harcourt city not to have light.

well from my observation almost all the wealthy people have solar energy in there homes now. the price of fuel (petrol) regulates this country and this facts the government knows but since it's beneficial to them they will probably not do anything to regulate the price. Solar energy for be the way out but I no think solar energy dey easy as you say because E too cost. expecially those one wey dey power plenty appliances for house except for those one wey dem dey sell for street. and those ones self no too dey guarantee like that because E no dey hard to spoil. With the current spike in the price of petroleum products, omor na solar be the only rescue team right now oo, even the convention of PMS engine to hybrid engine sef don dey fade because of the high cost of cooking gas. And one thing wey I notice na be say, even the price of solar equipment sef don dey cost so e better to buy now than to wait, because when once people don start to enter the market seriously, everything about solar go cost pass like this. This idea is beneficial and it save alot of expenses because when you calculate the money you've spent for fuel within one month you will advice yourself to limit spending on fuel due to the price, business people really need this idea especially those business that needs power supply every minutes like pay charge centers, saloon etc, sometimes the money spent on fuel can shorten their profit. I believe only established business with flow of income can afford a solar cause even the least solar can cost a huge amount talkless of the bigger solar.

Oga if you be solar panel or power installer, then you no sell your market well but all the same we na one and I also agree with you say solar na the best and a lot of people Dey complain about the cost of solar and I think them never really do the maths well else them for no fit talk say, solar cost pass running generator and if person wey Dey run generator atleast 5 hours a day suppose they spend over 80k weekly and almost 2m a year but tha same 2m fit run you solar system wey fit last you over 5 years without even much maintenance but we no Dey see am like that and we go prefer to Dey run on daily fuel expenses wey no sharp

OP, you should know that there are limit of voltage of electricity the solar panels can generate. So not all business really need solar system to help at times when there is no electricity because it cannot help in operating them. Frozen stores, supermarkets, Fashion house to mention a few do not meed solar system to help them operate very well. This is because the machines or tools used in operation needs large current that the solar system cannot provide. Even it is able to provide it cant last up to an hour or 2.

Many offices these days have resorted to using solar panels because of its efficiency. Although, the limitations lie within the capacity of the battery or inverter power.
Also is the case of how much it would cost to get the panels and the inverters before installing it.

It's still more efficient than fuel generator that has cost so much since the removal of fuel subsidy, but unless a better way to help citizens get and install solar panels at an affordable rate or as part of benefits from community development projects, it would still be generators, diesel/fuel and other combustible engines that rely on these fuel to function would exist and keep being an alternative source of electricity for the regular citizens who can only afford it.

Yes if you do check and balance the amount people spend on buying fuel to power their generators you would agree with me that the use of solar inverter is very good because it doesn't cause environmental hazards as releasing harmful carbon monoxide as generators does and no noise pollution, the only difference is that it's capacity doesn't accommodate much power as generators do give and it might not also carry some high voltage equipments but yet it's dependent on the capacity of the inverter as some high voltage inverters can still carry those equipments.

Power generation is something that is not that cheap, that why even the federal government find it hard sometimes to finance it, and that it why it has been privatised and even at that, we still haven't still gotten it right.
Alternative source of energy is definitely a good idea, because it's conservative form of energy, but considering the financial situation of most Nigerians, they might not be able to afford it because is has to do with durability and sustainability which I see a lot Nigerians not being able to afford at these moment except those that are financially stable and they don't constitute the larger number.

The price of commodity now is on a high increase where we can't control them, let say going to price to solar they will cut of your neck because of the dollar increase over Naira and it's very bad. Naturally solar is the solution to our dark country and lots of country are purely using solar than turbine which is not healthy to the inhabitants due to some substances it's emitting to the eco system.
Solar is more humanly friendly, but doesn't like bad weather where rains keeps falling it is most encouraging during the heat season.

Na good idea u bring come here so op, dis light of a thing don mak me miss many online things because light no com dey stable these days and d place wey I dey use money take dey charge my phone before d guy say the price wey e dey take dey charge phone for people no dey help am gain something from d business and, NEPA people wey suppose make d business dey run well sometimes for dem, but NEPA no dey bring d light at all for dem to off their generator to save some fuel.

Well solar is a good alternative but not really the best for us. The best is for our government to do something about our electricity. There is nothing as the NEPA light. Is it everyone that can avoid the cost of a Sola light? Can big industries use it for their production. Our bad electricity has highly added to our bad economy.
