What's the supposed benefit of knowing the location for their headquarters though? To me, this don't make any difference because if these AML organization finally digs the big fishes that's involve in a really big money laundering operations and I'm talking about politicians and influential people having their names on the list of the investigation, they're going to be immediately shut down. Most of these task force are only created to root out foreign operations and not the domestic ones.

As long as there's money to be had and people that have a soul that's easily bought by mere billions of Euros or dollar, money laundering will never see an end and the big operations are just going to be protected by the politicians and officials that have their interests in line with those operations and that they're benefiting from it directly.

Wherever their headquarters is located doesn't matter, but what is worrying for bitcoiners is how institutions like this attack BTC privacy solutions, as you can see from this snippet above. BTC is just a tool, surely Satoshi never created it to be used for illicit tx's, but any tool in the world can be used both for good and bad. However, i don't think there is a 'threatening' number of people using BTC for money laundering, it has a public and transparent blockchain and is not anonymous, but they still attack BTC like it is the most suitable tool for money launderers.

What really matters is where the main headquarters is located. If the main office were in Malta or Estonia, then this would not be serious. This is a good influx of money for the budget of the country in which the headquarters is located.

It should not be too important where the headquarters of an agency is located, although Frankfurt is the city where the headquarters of the ECB (European Central Bank) are also located, and also the headquarters of some well-known companies such as the Deutsche Bank Twin Towers.

The location of this the Headquarters of the EU anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing authority is not relevant to me, all I want is for them to go after bad actors in the crypto space while genuine players should be given the freedom to engage in financial transactions without any restrictions. Genuine actors should not be allowed to suffer because the system has few bad actors. It is not strange that Germany was chosen as the location because the country has the largest economy in Europe.

But on the other hand, as @zasad mentioned, choosing the headquarters in Germany indicates their seriousness because Germany is an influential member of the European Union and has great economic and political importance.

Also, after its formation, European Authority will have the right to intervene in all countries of the European Union regarding Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, even those countries where there are lenient laws regarding Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

If you would take it by where it should have been headquartered normally it would have been Koln not Frankfurt, Zoll, the german FIU or Finance intelligence unit which will be a part of this AMLA is located there , the Europeans FIU headquarter is in Hague so this will be another one of those funny things like in the Asterix and Obelix when they rush from one window to another to get a permit.
