I wanted to create a beautiful QR codes for my business and once I found a great way, I decided that it would be a good idea to share it with you guys because you can use this QR code to show off your Bitcoin address, bitcoin website or it can be a good way for signature campaigns to create a beautiful QR code avatars that will also keep their graphics visible.

I created a beautiful QR code for bitcointalk.org, just see and scan it:

These are the steps to follow:

1. Visit qrcodechimp.com and be sure that URL class is active (it's active by default). Registration is free.

2. Type your crypto website if you want others to visit your website when they scan QR code or type bitcoin:youraddress if you want to create a Bitcoin QR code.

3. On the right side, you have tools for customization

4. You can change the color of qr code, you can change the shape (body type, eye frame type, eye ball type, increase or decrease stroking and scaling), add logo in the center of QR code or generate a QR code with your image as a background.

It's a very handy feature for signature campaigns and campaign managers too because instead of just an avatar, they can create a scannable avatar. I created one as an example for Bitsler

If you have a question, ask me and I'll try to help.

If you have a question, ask me and I'll try to help.
My question is does this have anything to do with Bitcoin wallet address or it's just specifically for avatars and signature campaign related stuff?

Because if this have to do with your wallet address then it's absolutely a wrong move. Uploading your address to an unknown website to generate a quick response code is exposing your wallet address to virus and malicious wallet address changers and it can be manipulated and lead to lost of funds.
Even though we have to verify the wallet address before sending it's still very vulnerable for hackers to change the address.

but if this solely for websites, avatar etc then I don't have problem with the idea.

just a friendly question!

In your wallet softwares like Bitcoin Core, Electrum, you can get QR code and I really don't need a third party website to create a QR code for my public receiving address.

Like the site you use, it adds avatar to the QR code and it looks cool but I prioritize safety than cool.

How to use the Electrum receive tab.

Visit

It's a very nice feature. I always had a weakness for custom, better looking QR codes.

I will add a request though. @dzungmobile has a very valid point. Never trust any website. And my request is to add a step to your tutorial:
Scan the resulted QR yourself and make sure it contains the data you expect.

I really don't need a third party website to create a QR code for my public receiving address.
I remember some threads here or news way back related to malicious bitcoin QR code generators that changes the actual wallet address to the website owner's address. Which was always the case to be aware of when using a third party bitcoin wallet generator. Note, many was fooled since the wallet address has lots of transactions. Well, you can always check the qr code before sharing it to others but it looks like common sense is not always common.

I’m not sure about this because I’m not techie in regards with this subject so please be gentle with me pls  Cheesy. Is the result of QR code can be altered by the provider once generated already?

Let’s say once I try it, It shows correct address. Is there a chance that the website offering this QR code generation can alter the address in the future for those existing QRcode that generate through their website?

I forgot to mention the following step.
And my request is to add a step to your tutorial:
Scan the resulted QR yourself and make sure it contains the data you expect.
I am quite sure that not all people will do this step because they are careless and don't know risk of using those tools.

Similarly to how they are careless with back up. They just make a backup such as writing down the seed BUT don't test the backup for recovery and compare wallet addresses (original one and the recovery wallet) with each other. They can lose their coins if backup has something wrong like typo.

Another point is (it is what I read, not about Bitcoin QR code but QR code generally), some stores print their QR code on a banner for example, and leave it at their store gate or somewhere else in their store. Then bad guys come in the store, and stick their own QR codes on those stuffs.

Money from users will go to these bad guys, the store lose their income.

It's story I read, not quite sure how they were careless like this with user payment.

Well generating QR codes off wallets, might be interesting due to the many other features these websites may add to your wallet address or business payment accounts. But let's all be careful here as theres high risk of losing funds using such online third party QR codes generators. In this regards I will quote one of my old replies regarding the generating of QR codes offline wallets or using third party websites

This idea seems risky and might just be the worse idea, mate. Generating QR codes off wallets? Did you know that hackers could compromise QR codes using this method? They might replace your wallet address with theirs, so when someone scans the code, the funds go to the hackers. It becomes tricky to verify if the QR code matches your wallet address.  hot wallets, and exchanges usually have built-in QR codes for your wallet address, making it safer to send and receive money, preventing malware or clipboard viruses.

When you share your wallet address online and use a website to generate a QR code, you're exposing yourself to a bigger risk. QR codes may seem secure, but they can be altered by hackers or thieves. Sending them online will put you i a whole much risk. I don't recommend this idea for anyone mate.

Even If you're sending funds using a QR code, make sure to double check the details of the receiver to avoid falling victim to scams. If wallets can be hacked, what more about a website?

If we must do this, maybe because of the designs lile the one from op. We should be mindful and be patient enough to confirm the authenticity of the QR codes generated for us using these websites. The internet is filled with somany scam and malicious sites so be careful whenever you want to do something like this that Involves your funds.

It is cool to have a custom qr codes but it won't be a good decision to use it if the result is not what you are expecting. Just as Neuroticfish explained that the data should be in the qr code because it isn't then I wouldn't recommend using the tool. Not all tool are safe to use and if ever I use one then I always test it myself if the things that I work on have the results I am expecting. I have used similar tools before which I created a qr code and then scanned if the data is correct (it was before and crypto related).

QR-codes aren't supposed to be "pretty", they're supposed to be machine readable. There's a lot of error correction included, but my phone can't scan the first and last QR-code in the OP. That means it defeats the purpose.

I remember some threads here or news way back related to malicious bitcoin QR code generators that changes the actual wallet address to the website owner's address.
It's a risk, and totally unnecessary. At best, creating an account on a website to link your addresses to your account is bad for privacy. At worse, you don't check and your money gets sent to someone else.

This has nothing to do with Meta.

I liked the design. If there were open source tools, it would be better, but since all the risks are related to privacy, as you will enter your Bitcoin address and verify it several times before using it to promote your service, I do not see a problem with using this service.
