Recently i have observed that some new from users are unable to develop consistency in their contributions maybe because they feel that their opinions are not relevant ,lacks quality and many more .

The forum is actually a very tough place ,but the only way to survive it's toughness is when you are consistent  in your contributions ,patient and also try as much as possible to  eliminate phobia .

furthermore, don't feel that your opinions are not noticed ,they are actually noticed and recognized but just know that nothing good comes easy and don't be discouraged maybe because you have not been merited . However ,  i have seen some newbies here with 100 activity and 0 merit please don't be discouraged or feel that you don't know how to make quality post ,just know that those post are very relevant and time will come when they will be merited.

lastly, always see the high ranked members as motivation because they where once newbies ,they also made some similar mistakes like you and i but patience, consistency and perseverance brought them thus far. following their footsteps will enable us grow they are here as helpers ,moderators and instructors . sometimes they might criticize your post , don't panic or feel bad just have it mind that it is a way to make you grow like them because when you are criticized you learn more.

I will like to say something on the word "Criticism".
Criticism Is general even the high rankeked members get criticised but might not base on their post rather other activities  on the forum.
For newbies, most Criticism comes from their post and there's only one thing they can do for it , either learn from it or run from it.

Of a truth there are times in life when the best time to learn is to receive criticism, disrespect and insults from people who are more knowledgeable and experienced than you because that's actually the time when you would know that you ain't doing things the right way and it would shape your mind to make more meaningful contributions.

In life, if people don't condemn you or say nasty things about you when you are going the wrong direction then you may not learn so quickly, however it is important for us to know that not all criticisms are meant to demean or underrate someone as most times, it makes one think more deeply and enhance their knowledge more towards bringing productive ideas.

"Patience is a stepping stone to Wisdom" so being patient enough at a time when you are not going the right direction is very important rather than feeling bad and hated by people. Being patient helps one to be at ease and eager to be open minded to more positive reality.

Let me make this claim once again, do not take the forum way too seriously like someone pursuing an academic career, treat it like a discussion forum which it is, engage in topics you have knowledge on and share your own knowledge on here. The reason why man actually find it tough here or get into trouble is because they want to impress way too much which leads them to commit mistakes.

If a user has this kind of post count or activity with that merit then they need to retract their posting styles or change the boards where they post. If a member is so eager to earn to merit and it’s not forthcoming the best thing to do is look into profile of higher ranking members that you know earn merits more often and then look at their posting patterns and learn from them

You didn't have a high rank cause you was just a newbie! Except back in your time you were given things like "copper membership" and all that, I think the badge is newbie or brand new, right?
 What we see these days on the forum from newbies is that they expect that the moment they start, they begin getting merits and recognition. (Although some might be lucky especially if they have good content to give) but it's only a select few and when their expectations aren't met, they are easily disinterested and find the forum boring and some get offended by criticism quickly because it's as if that's not what they bargained for but forget that in life nothing good comes easy.
 When someone criticizes you, (especially positively), it shows the person is interested in your growth and in that way you can be able to know where you defaulted and start a new page. There won't be any need for correction and you won't make any headways if you are always feeling like you are right and that applies to the forum. Consistency, patience and perseverance are all key ingredients to being successful anywhere you find yourself.

OP, having looked at your started threads, I can say that you are as consistent as anyone. But the trouble is that you are the same everywhere. From topic to topic, you promote only one thought: patience, criticism, love for the forum, and blah blah. May I ask what your topic is today? Wasn’t everything you said just now in other topics you opened?

From time to time, instead of benefiting the forum, you create similar topics in which users create a bunch of identical answers. Can you call this a boon for the forum? May I ask if you are a forum psychologist?

If we look at all your advice fairly, then in any society, a newcomer must always get comfortable on his own.  You regularly repeat platitudes. I think everyone here is old enough and understands perfectly well that in order to achieve something, you need to have some experience.
You teach so often on your topics. Maybe it would be better to share your experience.

One's enjoyment also affects their patience in this forum. When you're someone who enjoys learning, exploring new things, and delving into cryptography, that reason alone is compelling enough to motivate you to stay consistent on this forum.

It's the merit system and that enjoyment which will keep someone motivated to stay on this forum. Even the smallest progress will bring joy and enthusiasm. I really admire people like this, especially those with a high level of curiosity. They tend to be more enthusiastic about understanding cryptography.

That's a word of wisdom. Most times I roam the forum and find great posts I should be meriting but lack merit for them, the posters won't know someone noticed them. Sometimes I don't comment after reading and other times I read and comment just like I'm doing now. Your post is worthy of merit but sadly, I don't have any merit to splash on it too.

Perseverance is a virtue in this industry of ours. Those reading this who may need someone to keep urging and encouraging them but haven't got any, my advice to them is never to allow themselves become downcast. Keep striving.

But I like this merit effect. A lot of people work hard to make the best posts to get Merit awards. New people sometimes forget to measure their strength.  So they often think too far and make them feel difficult.The best right is to work according to your ability, because in the end your knowledge will expand and have a wider range of discussions. You can continue to learn and observe, discuss on the best topics that are mastered and expand on other topics. Observe modifications to the best of your ability.

It’s normal for new users to have a challenging start when they join the forum, it is supposed to take time to understand the forum properly except if maybe they are not newbies as they claim and that’s why if a newbie account starts making valuable contributions and acts as though they are familiar with the forum, it starts raising suspicions and people start to think they are alt account of an already existing user which leads to the account being investigated.

The forum is actually a very tough place ,but the only way to survive it's toughness is when you are consistent  in your contributions ,patient and also try as much as possible to  eliminate phobia .

It’s not so tough as you make it sound, it’s tough for those who are so eager to rank up and and want to skip the learning process and just want to make contributions to the community. A newbie rank is supposed to learn first but nowadays they get eager to move up the ranks and by doing so they will be criticized alot making them think that the forum is tough on them. The forum is a discussion forum and without having knowledge on topics discussed here it will be very difficult to make valuable contributions or even interact here.

I am not siding them in this, but we have to understand the needs that learning something new is not something that comes in an easy way like that, it will have to take time and efforts from us, some could get busy or engaged to doing other things than when they would have first intended of staying here to learn, the way we are all busy with schedules are different from others, we just have to be considerate sometimes, learning itself requires patience and time to take place and its not a thing of force, its by choice.

I do hope that you are busy gaining a lot from the forum, because your posts are saying something different, you are saying the same not giving up stories all the time, I do hope you are learning, because it's not always about saying something, some people come on here not to contribute, and they are doing fine, because they don't have to contribute.

Are you shocked? Well it's true, you don't have to say anything on this forum, people like this enjoy reading only, they only post if they feel like, they might have few posts on their account, but they don't want to contribute at all or yet, because they are so into learning by reading through peoples comment on here.

Mind you, not creating post and topics like you doesn't make them weaklings or useless, their aims are different from yours, you talking about tough, well it's not, I believe you feel the tough feeling because you are too eager to rank up, and just like I've said, its not a must to rank up, everyone have different reasons why they are on this forum.

Buying a copper membership has been possible for everyone up from the point when it was introduced to the forum. It was not given; you paid the fee and got it with the extra perks it comes with. Anyone can pay the fee now and get it too.

What you might be talking about was that then Jr members and even newbies could wear signatures, and there was no 1-merit rule to become a Jr member on the forum.

It is always difficult to start learning about a forum especially if you are new to the subject matter. Many people with little or no knowledge about Bitcoin might find it a little bit difficult to join the discussion at the beginning but this gradually change as they keep visiting and learning from the forum. Consistency, patience, and perseverance are virtues that can distinguish anyone in any field. You will always need them to succeed in academics, business, and career. Most members that lack virtues will either be frustrated and leave the forum and others will break the rules and get banned.

For me, the most important thing is to keep learning and improving on your posts. Don't always be too concerned if your posts are recognized or not just keep improving. Your post will get merits as you contribute positively to the forum. One of the ways of attracting merit is to be creative and add something new to discussions. It is better to have a few quality posts than to make constant low-quality posts. I have received merits from posts I did a long time ago which is why it is good to always invest time in your posts.

Observing the forum and the post pattern of some knowledgeable members will be a good step. Don't see criticism as an attack but receive it as advice and corrections. Anybody that doesn't tolerate criticism might find it very difficult to learn. Don't also forget that some boards attract more merits than others, so you could check them, learn, and start contributing.

I registered here after the Enhanced newbie restrictions IIRC.

There also was really no privilege. Being able to wear a signature (with no links allowed) without any merits earned is not a privilege, except you only came here to spam the forum and even in the grand scheme of signature campaigns, you'll get paid peanuts compared to higher ranking members.
The only benefit that I can losely lay my hands-on is that it was easier to earn merits then compared to now for newbies. This is my perception, I think the overall merits being sent around have dropped significantly.

There's nothing to be afraid of when you're right - but some users become pessimistic because they think they don't have the skills. Each user's approach to learning is different - some of them even need more time than others to solve a problem. You have to be very confident in your abilities - learning and consistency are mandatory if you want to get better.

Basically, you don't need to be considered by others as a contributor as long as you can be of benefit to yourself ^{[knowledge and abilities]} and others. There will always be people who like and dislike you and what you do - so don't let things like that hinder your growth on the forum. Get into the habit of doing things with confidence - as long as you're not a bad poster, you can post whatever you're interested in.

What I want you to understand concerning this community is that you have to know where you are supposed to make your post and read to understand what a discussion in this community is narrating or narrowing to, many people from the beginning concept of any user you might the first one or two challenges based on abuse and that will not make you to feel inferior concerning your objective to the community of bitcointalk, so what I know quite well is that you have to understand the rules and communicate to a place where you understand their discussion that should be your major priority as a beginner in the forum, majority of beginners discuss in a place whereby they have nothing to contribute in such discussion but then make a point that is not valued in such discussion so that is one of the elementary contribution of failure of beginners.
