So I was wondering, which miners do you guys use. As of right now, I would say there are only 2 options, which is iBeLink BM-KS Max 10.5 TH/s and IceRiver KS3 8 TH/s. I also use hosting servides, so i do not pay much for electricity. What do you guys think? Huh

Watch a video of two KS3M ASICs in an apartment.
Cooling occurs due to cold air from the street.
Consumption is 7 kW, but the miner still plans to install air conditioning in the summer.
The ASICs are very noisy and installed without noise boxes, I don’t know how it solves problems with neighbors.

I am sure that these ASICs cannot be used without noise boxes in the apartment. They are very noisy and in residential buildings the sound insulation is not suitable for such tasks. This is the second or third floor, and most likely the neighbors will break the windows of this miner than complain to the police.

This is a continuation of the story. A good noise box does a great job of reducing noise levels.

This noise box is good at reducing noise levels, but it will not make the device silent so that it works in quiet areas such as residential apartments, but rather for open areas.

They claim that it reduces the sound to about 30 dB, which is closer to the sound of a library, but from my experience, I believe that the sound is around 60 dB to 65 dB, which is closer to the sound of a vacuum cleaner when it makes a noise or the sound of the TV turning on loudly. If you are in a crowded residential environment,Your neighbors will definitely not be happy with these sounds all day.
But if you have a separate and isolated room, you may be able to lower it to less than 55 dB, which is similar to Low Volume of a TV.

The noise of a regular ASIC is 70 dB to 75 dB in the room. I have seen measurements of the noise level of a noise box, when it was possible to obtain figures of 33 dB to 40 dB, which allows the use of ASIC on the balcony. If you use radial fans, the noise can be further reduced, but these fans are expensive.

Is 33 dB to 40 dB the result of the experiment or what they promise you? Reducing the noise from 75 to 33 would be great, but the best I got was ~(50-55) dB.

You are right that a regular noise box reduces the noise level on average from 80-90 dB to 50-55 dB, but if you add additional noise insulation to ventilation ducts and other elements, as well as replace the cooling system, you can further reduce the noise level by 10-15 dB . But this will be very expensive and depends on the ASIC model and the location for mining.

A soundproof room will be sufficient as a noise level of 50-55 dB can be tolerated.
These solutions remain useful for those who own one or two mining devices, but for mining farms or whenever the number of miners exceeds two, it will be completely different.

Soundproofing a room using 2 ASICs is a big question of return on investment. Usually miners try to save as much as possible on this and use inexpensive noise boxes and do not install ASICs in apartments. Basically, ASICs are rarely found in apartments, because the neighbors will complain.

I would love to have one of this with that level of noise as I keep my mining rig with 2-3 cards which is of the same noise if not more and most likely no one has ever complained so far, even when I keep my windows open as I have the mining rig in my living room, yet at 400 watt I would love an ASIC with such a huge amount of processing hash for the Kheavyhash algorithm. The ASIC companies seems to have gotten right also the market of occasional alternative home miners which think more about the future rather than the present and are betting on a long term profit.

The fans of video cards are much weaker than the fans that are installed on ASICs, so the noise of the former is much less. The noise of the fans from an ordinary industrial ASIC is terrible for an apartment. BUT, as a rule, after 400-watt ASICs, industrial options for 2-3 kilowatts will appear and the profit will fall.
