Giving out merit is subjective or based on the discretion of the sender but I can attest these posts didn't deserve the merits they received. Unikon the first merit giver looks like a good poster from the Russian board. CRAIC, Kypher, Kounter, and corel are low-quality posters with no link with the Russian board. I don't think Unikon was hacked or bought because it is still active and the posting style seems not to have changed. But the striking resemblance of some of these accounts is that they like copy and paste news. They may be alts based on how the merit moved between them. It is possible that they are targeting signature campaigns or other forum activities.

Sounds more like OP didn't get the drop shipping so he tried to expose the merit trading group. The bad news for OP is that if you don't have any proof of merit trading, no one can do anything about it. theymos is only concerned with merit source trading merits, not random dirty accounts.

I agree. These posters - CRAIC, Kypher, Kounter, corel - seem kinda questionable. I dunno if they're actually connected or what but their posting styles are weirdly similar.  Like, they all like one-liner posts and occasionally just copy-paste a news article without much original commentary.  And the merits they get seems to move between their accounts a lot, so maybe they actually are alts.  Cant prove it though. 

Bottom line - something seems off with those first few posters you mentioned.  But not sure we got solid proof to accuse them officially.  More just a gut feeling they might be up to something sketchy with how they post and interact.

Either way, although cases of merit abuse don't really need to have threads devoted to them since DT members probably won't take any action, I am going to start putting members like the ones reported here on PM-ignore so that they can't request post history reviews from me.  If I didn't do that, there's no way I'd remember their usernames and the details and whatnot.  

OP, I appreciate you starting this thread and for the watchful eyes.  I'm going to refrain from giving you merit simply because of that tiny bit of suspicion/paranoia I mentioned above, but if you continue to post from this account (and your posts are any good), feel free to hit me up for a review.

I do not think he would do that with a brand new account. It is obvious that the OP created this account specifically for this purpose, so very likely someone who does not want to expose his main account with something like this,

@OP You need to put in more effort if you really want to prove that there is abuse, and even if you succeed in proving it, they only get neutral trust for airdrop Merits/selling them Merits.

I'm not related to the accounts I mentioned. I'm working on a tool to graph merit use between users & happened to notice them, as they were outside of the main graph.

Another example of why newbies and jr members aren't welcome in the Known Alts thread for their incomplete time wasting.

OP: come back with some evidence such as UID creation dates, or wake up dates (at least one of these users has been banned) that give a glimmer of a notion the UID are connected. Otherwise, you might be seen as being the one who was banned and hoping to take others down with your throwaway account.

Op, honestly there is some kind of links between the accounts mentioned above but there's no concrete evidence to prove that. I will also say that, assuming the merits shared between these accounts are in 2's or 3's it will also not raise eye brows. I had to check the accounts to see if any merit source is funding them but none. So, no one will actually want to tag them unless you do it yourself.

But I think merits should be given without that kind of suspicion. Even if it's your enemy, just give merits if the post is worth it and forget about what happens afterwards. If you have a great suspicion, you reduce the amount of merits to be given.

OP your finding may be correct these accounts may be connected, looking at the merit trading it is clear that they are purposefully doing this merit trading, but there is not enough proof that these accounts are connected. They must have a motive behind this amount of merit transaction.

So if you can collect more evidence against these accounts it will be effective to fully expose them.

Sometimes it baffles me seeing people leaving what they should do to start looking for what doesn't concerned them at any point, though from my own little understanding merits are for spending and not for holding besides it might decay over there so, if someone gives out merits it shouldn't be a thing to question where I am only concerned about is theymos saying people shouldn't begged for merits excessively. However those accounts are very low(no reputation, or creativity that leads to such heavy dumps) to receive such volume of merits at a go meanwhile for my period of being active in this forum I have never come across someone's doing a massive dump on my profile 💁. Or are mine too ugly for someone not to show such kind gesture to me lemme have the taste of what it's to receive a heavy wind?

Girlfriend, merit cannot be spoiled . These are not pies.

But the OP is right in his observations. There is a clear transfer of merit from account to account, and most likely it is one person who is growing several alternatives. But the fact that we see that these accounts are not active and do not claim to participate in the company’s signature so as not to create competition for other honest accounts really should not bother us.

I don’t have many merits in store since I’m not a hoarder, but to express that you’re awesome, I’ll send everything I have.

There are many reasons someone starts looking into things that don't really concern them.

Someone could be trying to make a name for themselves as a scambuster, someone got mad at a friend and wants to expose they are running am account farm, someone is looking out for the community, they just have nothing better to do.

Generally, I don't think anyone should be wasting their time looking for merit abuse alone. If the merit abuse also exposes a cheater of some sort(besides the merits), then it might be worth exposing. Most of these people are just trying to rank up accounts fast so they can join a sig campaign.

At least the accounts involved in the Merit distribution have met the Merit quota needed to advance to Full Member rank. it just requires more activity.
I doubt they will be active any time soon. they will become active again when everyone has forgotten about their case. and start joining signature campaigns.
or alternatively, the accounts are put up for sale.

You are correct!
But from what I am seeing it seems that the account owner doesn't regularly operates with the account maybe he wants to watch if there would be any monitoring or eyes looking over those profile, and off course there should be eyes on them since those accounts are not actively engaging themselves into deep discussion there will always be needs for people to monitor them.

Sometimes when sure a thing happens (reporting an account of merit abuse) it might be because of anger or some personal issues between the OP and the tagged users as the case may be. Ok take a look at the OP whom I think opened a new account just to report someone he might be having a problem with and he chose to open a new thread, not minding if we have such thread.
This OP new account is for reporting those who offended him and he doesn't want to use his main account, who knows if he hasn't used it to reply this thread, and I agree with you that the OP is trying to fish for merit, after the OP doesn't get what he wants I feel we might not see or hear from this account on the Forum again.
