I am tempted to post up all the bad news that has been making the rounds in Nigeria but I will ignore. This very post is not about Buhari or Tinubu but about Nigeria as a whole because it touches each and every one of us. I want you to remove bias, prejudice and tribalism, ethnicity as you read and give your response to the question that follows the trending headline that flooded the Nigerian internet last week.

See the headline. You can read the investigative report if you have the time.
Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, the biggest smuggler in southwestern Nigeria, recently threatened to kill an Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC) who stopped the smuggling of his goods from Benin Republic into Nigeria, FIJ can confirm.

Motorcycles used by bandits and insurgents to inflict terror on innocent civilians, as well as hard drugs, including tramadol, are among the goods being smuggled into northern Nigeria by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the agency that should be checking the crime.

Following repeated complaints about the porosity of Nigeria’s borders, investigative journalist ‘Fisayo Soyombo attempted to illegally import not one or two but 100 bags of rice from the Republic of Benin into Nigeria. He succeeded without the faintest security resistance, working with information from greedy Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) bosses who betrayed patrol teams by updating smugglers on their colleagues’ itinerary and the days and times when the roads were free, and daredevil smugglers with insider knowledge of the forests, the roads and Customs officers.
[/list]

There are many more from the other security agencies being involved in crime that they should be fighting. The question I want us to have a conversation about is - Is Nigeria redeemable?

A Neocolonial trajectory is a nation suffering from production difficulties. All machineries of production are in captivity by western capitalists considered as Predators to this underdeveloped nations as Nigeria. Almost all the essentials of life are provided by these predatory capitalists.
On the basis of this contraption, smugglers are employees to these merciless capitalists. It is a conspiratorial alliance that comprises  senior bureaucrats, top brass military officers, advance criminals and others.
These Neocolonial particularities are redeemable. Since this global capitalism rules the world, it has certain inherent contradictions that are class oriented premised on production relations.
Therefore, these contradictions could be resolved by strengthen the structures couple with a strong political will on the part of the government. Secondly, an effective budgetary framework with an allocation for capital expenditures having at least 60% with a paltry 40% for recurrent expenditures. This is to address the issues of production.
The moment the issues of production are properly handled, almost all the goods purported to have come under the syndrome of smuggling would disappear.

I have said this before, and am still going to say it again, Nothing is wrong with Nigeria, Nigeria is a country that is well endowed with natural resources and many more, but unlike most part of the world that their natural disasters in flood, Earthquake and so on, our own disasters is not natural, it's man made, our disasters is leadership.

our politicians are our own disaster, they are just taking this country for a rollercoaster ride, without even caring how citizens of the state are fairing, but I believe that if a true leader that knows what is governance, that knows how to govern a state gets into power in this country, he will definitely fix this country, regardless of how wicked and corrupt people are on the rampage right now, because I believe that nothing is impossible, when given time.

Going by your question, Nigeria is redeemable thats if our leaders will rethink and face governance as the major role that was assigned to them to play, Nigeria is very great in the eyes if many European countries because many if their citizens has not been to Nigeria, so the manner they hear about us they feel that all is well with us not knowing that Nigerian citizens are suffering and smiling at condition that so critical.

Our government knows what to do bit they fell to do them so that people will continue suffering and vote buying will continue to impoverish it's citizen, our leaders know that production will favour the country more excessive consumption, I heard that the government wants to share grains to who, I. That not laughable, since the economic woes have the government at the center decided to have meeting with the state and local government so that they can go into serious planting of agricultural products and massive production of goods so that in few months time every commodity will fall in price, nothing has been do, unless all this is done which I know that the government is aware we are going no where.

For a very long time now Nigeria have been finding it difficult to be fixed and the people that are assuming office but seriously some of them are trying there best at state level, for some state because not all state are serious.  the problem is that they know what to do but what is stopping them or what is the challenge, we know corruption is challenge but if you want to work as a representative you can still do it without any challenge but, just because of there own selfish ambition, they will not want to offend anyone and that is wrong if you want to work you work. at the cost of even losing friends.

that is the problem a lot of countries think bad about us and which are not true. we know that our government is bad at governing and they really need to fix such aspect of governance, and the annoying thing is that, they will continue doing there fowl play in buying vote and many more.  and we have everything so why are we struggling, when we get to that point we are going  get it right one day.

The problem we have is just our leaders , if we can get good leaders I bet you everything will be fine . When the leaders are bad you don't expect common citizens to be good. The leaders are supposed to live by example then the followers will learn from them. Don't be surprised when you see people nor doing it is as a result of bad leadership. When the government practiced lawlessness also the people will also want to practice it to also get their own benefit.

Nigeria is redeemable if only our leaders will allow the wright thing to be done,we are suffering because we never allow God to take control in our country, can this country be transparent during election ?can we be sincere and truthful with our resources and incomes of the federation and allow God to lead us through his path,if all these are met ,then i see a new Nigeria and a better future ahead of us.

Yes oo. Nigeria is redeemable. The way expressed is very good there is no need for bias or prejudice here, if we want a better country it starts from the leader mind to we the masses. If leaders start to think right den even the masses will too. It’s actually a collective effort

Nigeria is redeemable, it's just filled with anyhow selfish people, bad government, and a major number of lazy individuals ( may or may not be you ). For a colonized country and one with so much power and resources, it's doing so poorly. The government continues to carry out lawless activities in the name of justice. Well, it's no surprise, that no world is balanced and we the citizens would continue to be victims of being a part of a mother nation. We've gone through more than enough to not revive ourselves. Nobody is coming to save us. If we don't save ourselves well only continue to receive pity to try extent that we step on without pity anymore.

The problem of Nigeria has eaten way down into the system of the country that it has affected the whole minds of the upcoming ones that even them are craving for that one opportunity to be exactly like the folks they say they hate and that's why the virus will never die off because it's spreads like wildfire and it has been mapped into the thought of many Nigerians so I would say it's will be hard if not almost impossible for Nigerian to actually get off this problem of their if the whole country doesn't change.

Nothing in this life is not redeemable, except the death of a human being. If everything can be redeemed, except death, that means Nigeria our country can be redeemed someday since it does exist as a country.

The only time we can conclude that our country Nigeria is beyond redeemable is when our country is been divided for every tribe (the Igbos, Hausa, and Yoruba) to stay on their own and develop their region.

Until that time comes, we can then say "Nigeria is not redeemable". But for now, it is. It's just a matter of time and the right government to step into power. Our country wouldn't be bad forever without being good in the future. Take for instance, Israel spent 430 years in the land of Egypt suffering, before they gained their freedom of becoming an established country that exists.

Some day all this anguish will come to an end and we will have a song of victory to sing that we made through after passing through so many difficult hurdles of hardships.

The situation in Nigeria is terrible and has raised  major concerns and different thoughts among citizens about the betterment of the country, but the fact is there is no country beyond redemption. Nigeria like any other countries has it challenges but it also has potential to improve and progress beyond these challenges if the right steps are taken. Having leaders who are selfless and purpose-driven will play a significant role in the redemption of Nigeria, a leader who is selfless will prioritise the well being of the country and people over personal gains it will create a positive inclusive environment for growth and development. Purpose leaders are driven by vision and work towards achieving it.
