Why are so many of my posts not being posted?

Im constantly seeing the message.
"you've already posted this, duplicate, refresh".

Yet its false, when I refresh, my post is not there.

Im a genuine user trying to contribute to the forums, but feel its a pointless waste of time as my posts and threads dont show, or I get a message like above or "wait 360 seconds", only to wait and then get a message "already posted"

Surely you are losing many users over this?

360 seconds equal to 6 minutes that is not too long waiting time.

For a newbie, they don't have much knowledge and idea (most of them) so 6 minutes in waiting time is not too long.

It is forum limit on posting and is a barrier to stop spammers, bumping services.

Seems like your personal issue, never faced anything like that for me myself. Try to do these things:

- Clear cookies and browsing history of Bitcointalk
- Remove any adblocker
- Try changing your browser

It will surely solve your issue.

The forum is fighting against spammers, there are a lot shills here, if the forum didn't have cool down of every post, they can create a bot and start to shill their shitcoins in every sections.

Honestly I don't think 6 minutes is really long, except you're forcing yourself to post as fast as you can.

Back in the days when I was still a newbie, I never experienced a duplicate error message but my post was not there, I guess you're keep clicking to post when you're still in cool down.

Don't refresh your browser window after publishing a post. That second screenshot is about the 6-minute cooldown period for new users. Just wait a bit longer between hitting "post" on your next one.

(I noticed you only have two days of activity here.) Becoming an expert takes practice. Stick around, and you'll be a pro in no time!

As Helena Yu already did mention that's is to avoid spammers to create multiple accounts and then just spam nonsense and IMO it's a brilliant idea! And for those who have good intentions it will disappear in a couple of days or a week. You already earned yourself some merits so you will reach JR Member when you have reached 30 posts and then the limit should be gone or much lesser.

Some of  these are course by network most time at uploading another users is doing same ,but  the forum main objective is to detect spammer and filter out all invalid post .

But I may advice not to be too fast in conclusion because many of this complain has not come up much here, beside your still new may be I can see it's base on your Level but there is not discrimination by the way apply patient.

Grow up kid! The world does not stop if someone is dead. In the same manner the forum will grow without you. Look at it's history and those who have been here for long. They have grown and have achieved reputation which is known and acknowledged by the Bitcoin community within and outside the forum. First thing to do to avoid loosing your post content is to preview it first because in doing so, you already have it saved on the draft, then you may  proceed to hitting the post button, if you get the same error response, then try to close the browser and reload the page and the post content from the draft, it will send, if you continue to see this repeated, i will advise that you either check your browser settings or you make use of another browser.

This is not a threat and you don't have to convince anyone here that you're a genuine user, just locate where the problem is coming from and then you're good.

If you have problem with your log in session, your Internet connection, Preview and Draft page does not work and if you don't have proper action, you will lose the content.

To avoid this, a safer approach is to compose your post on a third party tool like Microsoft Word, Note pad before pasting it to the forum, click on Preview, click on Post. If anything bad happen, you still have the content in your word composing tool.

I’ve just tested it myself, and it goes as follows:

When you post within your current 360 second cooldown period of time, you will see a message such as this one (I used your images here, but on another platform as imgur images are not shown on Bitcointalk):

If you then return to the prior screen and post the content again, you’ll see the subsequent message:

In other words, the system should probably display the first message each time, but once you attempt to post a given content, and retry again, it shows the second message without actually posting the content on the forum. It does save it to the Drafts, which could explain why the system "believes" that you’ve already posted the content (albeit to the Drafts).

It’s something that is not aligned really with what the proper workflow of visualized messages should be, since you really haven’t succeeded in posting the content on a thread. I doubt that it’s going to be changed though.

Bear in mind that, when your Activity reaches 15 (or higher), posting cooldown time becomes much lower, as per the formula shown on the second post on this thread (75 seconds tops), and decreases as Activity increases.

I have never experienced this for how many years I’ve been here in the forum. Maybe the forum has seen you spamming. Because if you are not breaking any rule, I don’t think you’ll face any problem like this. And if you’re posting too fast with a very short interval, I’m afraid you’ll be banned in the forum later on.

Try to review the rules in the forum. If you think you’re hitting one of those, then that’s probably the reason why your posts are no longer posted anymore. Or you keep on clicking the post button while waiting for your post to be posted that’s why the system has reacted like that.

I never made the claim the forum wouldn't grow without me   failed strawman.

I did however imply it would lose users due to incorrect blocks/notices such as duplicate post(when there isn't even a single post, let alone a double), and the likes of.

Read the post by DdmrDdmr above, he explained it well.  This error has absolutely everything to do with YOU and the way you interact with the forum software. So, before resorting to name-calling, consider taking the well-intentioned advice of senior members and learn how to use the forum software properly.

First of all, you need to relax and give yourself some time to think and process everything. You need to know that there can be no problem without a reason, so when there is a problem, it means that there is an issue with that. So instead of getting all frustrated and angry, you should be asking what is the reason behind the problem you are facing so that you can get helped or informed about what is going on.

You called yourself a genuine user who is trying to contribute to the forum, I wonder why you couldn't find and read this thread in Meta that contains the exact information you were looking for which is a limitation about posting.

Cool down and stop screaming. I've rarely (indeed probably never) read other users having your issues.

When my account was new and I a newbie, I remember the posting delays sometimes to be annoying or was it the delays between searches with forum's search function? I can't remember ever having this double post thing like yours.

If your "screamed issue" were a forum bug, then why don't we experience it all? Guess what, the majority of other forum users are actually able to post properly and not do weird things with refresh or whatever strange procedure you execute while posting.

I have some experience in computer service and I can tell you that in many cases the problem sits in front of the screen.

If it shows that you have already posted this then it should show in the thread and all you have to do is refresh your browser and check the thread. I have experience similar situation although when I checked the thread after refreshing the browser then it showed in the thread. Actually, this us the first time I heard that someone posted here in the forum and shows duplicate but it never happened like yours where your post is not posted in the thread you selected.

This issue I am reading first time on the forum. As this never Happened to me at the beginning time when I also was a newbie. But in some cases, This kind of issue happens due to the browser you are using for posting on BitcoinTalk. As some of my community members had faced such kind of issue when they were trying to register their account the issue was not the same as of yours their issue was that they were unable to register their account. But when they changed the Browser they were able to create their account successfully.

So dear try to change your current browser that you are using after that try to post and notice if you still facing the same issue or not. Sometimes there are many problems we have to face due to our browser. I have also faced some problems due to the browser then I used another one. Well also see if you are using the old version of your browser or not. Many Thanks!

Whenever i sense that the network is having some technical issues, then i tried to always copy mu post on the clipboard incase of situations like this in other for me to avoid loosing the content to that, i will also suggest that you refresh your browser and try by closing the app first and if possible you restart the device and relaunch the browser, sometimes it happens in such a way when the network is having some glitches.
