We are humans and born with this trait of becoming adaptive even to unpleasant environment and factors, same way we keep surviving in this country that is not favorable for us to properly afford the basics of good living. The country is facing serious hunger, and if you look at Nigeria’s poverty index today, it is deteriorating rapidly, which is not good for us as a nation. Nigeria is undoubtedly blessed but currently impoverished because we have not implemented the necessary mechanisms for success. Sorry to say this, those who practice farming in Nigeria may never be affected much. not that I am insinuating that there is no poverty, but it will not affect most people. expecially those that practice subsistence farming, but will affect those who depends solely on buying everything in the market. Like me I pratice subsistence farming where by every season I buy some portion of land maybe like 2 or 3 and pay for the cultivation and planting. as an African man I am During harvest season I don't need to buy some food. From town to my village is very close, the food i get from 1 farm can last me for a year talk more of other farms I have. The problem most of us face, is the inability to use the opportunity of the large land mass we have to venture into agriculture but depends on all imported food. Let's take for example now in the village 1 paint of garri is #2k but in ph or any other city you will buy for #2.5k or #3k but I can get 20paint for free from my farm atleast It will reduce the cost of Unnecessarily spending.
