Africa is so blessed with resource in all ramifications but human and natural resources but it's so amaze to see that Africa is still marked as undeveloped continent considering the huge amount of resource embedded in the land of africa.
Every day by day the European, American and the Asian are trooping to Africa for the quest of greener pastures which the used to develop their continent but Africa are too blind to see that they are one of the most blessed continent in the world. Natural resources do not equal to wealth, though.
There are countries which are smaller and have a fraction of mineral and natural resources which any country in Africa has, and yet, they have managed to reach a very high standard of living to their citizens. In the end, a country is not about the land but the people of the land, and if the people of such land is educated, hard working, pursuing of excellence and loving of their home, then the country will be prosperous, since they will never elect a literal dictador to direct the destiny of their nation.

It does not matter how much gold or oil there is under your ground, if is stays there in the underground and is not used properly to improve our standards of living, then all of it do not matter.

Africa is a blessed country , the problem of Africa is just mismanagement.  We have all it takes to be the best but our leaders are not ready to put our region in a good shape. This are the same leaders that travels to other developed countries to see how far they have gone and can't still bring development to Africa. The problem of Africa is just bad leadership, some Africa countries that have true leader they are ahead than other Africa countries in development and technology.

The entire Africa is an embodiment of so much blessing but the problem is government, the government and their cohorts has fed so fat on the people but still there are untapped resources that should be used to help the masses but to no avail, Africa is supposed to be developed so much to the extend that most western countries will be using them for example but the reverse is the case here, how would continent that much blessed by God be suffering hers citizens because selfishness and greed, many of our leaders are pilling up properties and money for their unborn children, it is so bad and uncalled for, African continent can only develop if out leaders change their attitude.

It could be possible for Africa to one day become a more developed continent & achieve the status of a First World country. Things would need to change including political stability, good governance, economic diversification, infrastructure development, access to quality education & healthcare, technological advancements & sustainable development practices. It would also require international cooperation, investment & a level of support. Africa has immense potential with its abundant natural resources, young population & emerging markets. With the right strategies & efforts Africa can overcome its challenges & achieve significant development & progress. It would take a substantial amount of time to be branded a First World country though.

Having natural resources and minerals are th blessing but at the same time Africa has the curse of dictators and greedy leader who wants are hell bent in making lives difficult for its citizens as they are literally taking up any job in other countries and it also has curse of ethnic conflicts. African leader and people need to check the history how Singapore was converted from a narrow strip of land without any natural resources to a highly developed nation. Africans needs to elect leaders based on merits instead of selecting basis of religion, ethnicity or relatives. Education and upbringing the kids by teaching the kids to be honest and ensure they understand what is good and bad and evil. Probably last few generations has been too greedy and forget the basic of humanity that's why we see so much of poverty and problems and the cause of all these are just corruption.

I appreciate the perspective from which you examined these assertions. The truth is, whether we possess the most abundant land of natural resources, if we do not utilize it, it is as good as not having it in the first place.

In Africa, we have underutilized all the natural resources that we have, and it’s not as if the government is unaware of these issues. In fact, the truth is Nigeria has been exploited in some of these communities in town.

We have a lot of resources that we can tap into to avoid remaining poor or destitute. Instead, the goal should be for every average Nigerian to earn above $5 to $12 monthly, regardless of whether the economy is declining or improving. Thank you.

A lot of nations have abundant natural resources but a lot of them are also underdeveloped to the point that it is actually already considered a curse and many are infected. As you see lots of rich countries take from these nations who has abundant natural resources. They even take human resource away from these nations which I think is one of the causes of poverty in naturally rich countries.

One of the causes I have read is that these countries see natural resources as their primary source of income and therefore is not aiming for advanced education that won’t be used in works of developing more of their natural resources.

A solution I can think of to help this paradox disappear is for these countries to reinvest the money they get from natural resources into other sectors and not just for their natural resources. A nation’s economic growth does not only depend on one sector so it is crucial that not only one sector is doing great.

I have never been in Nigeria, but I have seen documentary films about the Nigerian culture and I am fasnated with how the people of that country has found new ways to try to face the economical challenges they have.
The cinematographic industry in Nigeria, for example, may be one of the most important ones in the African continent and all of it began because of the need to find new sources of income.

I know how it is to deal with crippling corruption, by the way, since I am from Venezuela; but my guess is Nigeria has less corrupt politicians and authorities than these we have here. There is still hope for Africa, they just need to stop believing in demagogs and false political prophets.

That's what I know with Africa, it's certainly a rich continent but it is not them that takes pleasure with that natural resources that they have. It's just sad that they're being exploited but with some of the countries there, I see that there are some that are thriving and progressive. I think this has also something to do with the leaders, presidents or prime ministers that are in there. I don't know each of the governing rule there but you know, if there's a leader that really loves his country and will do everything to put it at first priority, it is for sure that you'll see the progress and changes.

That's the sad part, instead of Africa itself to enjoy all of those benefits and natural resources and reap it, there are other countries and continents that are taking advantage of them. I think that because of the rules and laws that are too loose, that's how they're being taken advantage of. I don't know what actually is happening there and how their relationship is with these countries or continents that are always taking the benefit from them but I guess it is time for them to make such policies that they will reap it on their own and put their continent or African countries as first priority.

Africa, is a great continent with abundant natural resources and good climate, we don't have natural disasters like earthquake, hurricanes and the rest of them, and finally it's people have rich cultures and traditions. What most African countries however lack is good leadership, somehow dictators and corrupt individuals and people who have no business being in the helms of affairs finds their way into leadership positions, with selfish agendas, instead of policies that will benefit the masses. Corrupt politicians makes sure that fellow corrupt politicians finds their ways into leadership, whether it's the will of the people or not, and the interest of the people are constantly oppressed.
