I have similar experience on several occasions.  Mine was a bet I placed and it was remaining few matches on the slip, so I started monitoring the score live. There was one of the matches I played over3.5 and up to 80 minutes there was only one goal in the match. Out of anger and frustration,  I decided to closed the tab of the live event and also took a decision to stay away from gambling for at least two weeks.    I don't think that was luck because you didn't predict the games all by yourself, someone gave you the booking codes and your job was only to put the code on were it was supposed to be and send it.
   I called that an opportunity, your friend gave you the opportunity for his game, however it is not everyone that's free to the extent of sharing booking codes with others,  although you guys are friends (and what are friends for?).
   However I haven't bet a game and forget about it, I have experienced such case but in different ways, mine was on bonuses. I remembered my betting account was zero, when I mean zero I mean nothing was in my betting account but the next time I checked I saw huge amount on it, but you know bonuses from bets you can't withdraw them freely, you must roll over 3 or more times before you can be able to withdraw.

What the OP narrated is definitely not luck or some random occurrence but result of someone else's analysis and effort. Maybe he bet and forgot about the game because he was busy or didn't think he would win. I have not had this experience the only experience I remember have is multiple free rolls on slots game that resulted in a huge win for me.

Doesn't everyone monitor any bet they made to see if they have won or not?  It isn't a surprising thing to say.  I think @OP is just making something that has to do with being sensational by making a statement of being surprised after winning its bet probably pretending or some sort.  When you feel disturbed and stressed following your bet, I think there is something wrong with how you analyze the possible result of the game.  More probably you need more research and knowledge about the competing team in order to make your monitoring a bit entertaining and exciting.  And you are right to let go of the habit if you can't find the solution for it.

This is obviously not a new thing to so many gamblers, especially those that stake in running games such as sports. I have actually had a series of wins in such a manner that I staked on a game and went to bed just to realize that the game actually entered as I had predicted. I can't recall having this kind of experience with any bet wins, but something that came to my mind about you while reading this post is that you used the amount of money that you can afford to lose and that is why you couldn't bother to check on the games neither worry about the results later on. Congratulations on the win you never thought you'd get. and I personally have never experienced victory like that, because maybe I'm not as busy as you, so I always have enough time to check the final results of the bets I place, whether they win or lose. And I consider that the victory you got was just luck, a luck that other people don't get.
