Joseph Parker beat Zhilei Zhang on a points decision. The scorecards were:

Even though Parker was knocked down in the 3rd and 8th round, Zhang did not capitalise on the chance to end the fight. Full credit to Parker for getting back his composure back to win the fight.

I think he deserves a title fight. If Joshua is being lined up to face the winner of the Fury vs Usyk fight which could run in to a trilogy, then where does Parker fit in to the puzzle?

And maybe we can say that his win against Wilder is no fluke? There are fans who says that his win against Deontay is just pure luck, but then in this fight, even though Zhang again proved his power by knocking him down, still though Parker was still focus in this fight and take that W.

But they hype is still with the top tier, AJ, Fury and Usyk and Ngannou.

First he needs to win against Zhang in the rematch to cement his name.

And then he will have his chance. After that AJ dominant win against Ngannou, it's obvious that he will be facing the winner of the Fury vs Usyk. And maybe after that, who knows, Parker will be face the winner whoever it is. We don't know if there will be a trilogy between Fury and Usyk.

I would prefer to watch from afar, going to live boxing events does not appeal to me

Fury and Usyk will have at least two fights (but will be contracted for three) and they hold all the belts between them therefore it leaves Parker and Joshua waiting for a fight that will give them a chance to win a title. Sure, they will take fights and receive millions in the process but they will be unable to fight for a world title until the situation between Fury and Usyk comes to an end.

Crazy fight, and there is a rematch already as you have said and there are a lot of scenarios here. Yeah, I do believed that if Parker won, he might have a shot as to who has the belt by that time. But if Zhang wins specially if he could really knock out Parker for good, there will be a trilogy.

So I guess Parker shouldn't be concern on his future crack at the belt. He still has to deal with Zhang again and win convincingly, no controversy like this one and it's better that the judges are not going to score it. Meaning, Parker should dominant and knockout Zhang as I think he is capable of.

Zhang is a powerful fighter but was reluctant to throw any big punches, he relied on the jab more than anything else. Even the punches that caught Parker and sent him down for the count were not exactly power punches but they had serious effects on Parker. When it looked like Parker was going to lose he came out swinging and managed to put Zhang on the back foot and eventually tired him out.

Who knows what will happen in the rematch.

It is now being touted in reports that Parker could see a rematch with Joyce.

To be honest, the Zhang vs Wilder fight does not excite me at all especially after the abysmal display by Wilder when he lost to Parker, however Joyce did beat Parker late on in their fight therefore I am interested in watching them fight again and I would be confident Parker would beat Joyce the next time they meet.

So I guess this fight is not going to happen now.

If Wilder is fortunate to be given another fight on the undercard, it does not look good for him when he is facing Zhang who himself just came away from the ring with a bruising and physically taxing defeat to Parker. It goes to show just how far down the pecking order Wilder has fallen.

Let us not forget Parker has now inflicted defeats on both of them (Wilder and Zhang) therefore his next fight will be a more anticipated prospect than Wilder vs Zhang. It will be a good fight if Parker manages to get a rematch with Joyce because it will give him the opportunity to level the score as Joyce beat him when they met.
