I think if rented out you should also make it known on your topic (rented out), instead of saying open for rent. I think if someone do not open this thread they would still have that feeling that you are still available, except you wanna go for the offer maybe if they offers you something good you may switch over. Otherwise I would advise you indicate it on title.

After over 33 weeks of renting my signature out to Casinopunkz,
my signature is once again open for rent!

I agree with this point. To be more precise and transparent, it would be more appropriate to state the fact of renting it out in the title of the thread or at least amend the original post. In that manner, the time that potential advertisers would have wasted in making assumptions that the slot is occupied will be saved. It also prevents the confusion and makes the thread more professional. The title can always be revised to keep it as open to rent in case the signature is available again.

Yes this is actually correct and should be so..
When you rented it out then you can say [close] or 'Rented out'. With this people would know or manager will know that you are already taken if they come across your service thread.
However, I wish you good luck any campaign boss.
