Do bitcoin accelerators really work ?

There are many fake Bitcoin accelerators out there, and it's been very long since I used one last, I don't always get stuck in Bitcoin transactions since I've started using mempool. space to check the actual transaction fee needed to send my Bitcoin to another address.

The last one I used and liked is viabtc, it's very genuine and it always works, though it is not always free, they have a limited number of free accelerators per day, or let's say every 24 hours.

Viabtc is now less attractive because of the new terms and conditions they have introduced but who am I to complain about it? I heard that many people are abusing the system so we get what we deserve even though I've only used like three times since 2018, when something is free, people don't know how to appreciate it, they will handle it as they fit.

One thing I have not seen yet mentioned here is that for an accelerator to work, they need to mine a Block.  Unless they mine it and your Transaction is among the ones included by the Miner who got to mine the Block, it is impossible to accelerate your Transaction.

Accelerators work.  ViaBTC surely does.  I have no experience with paid accelerators since I rather not put myself on a priority list unless it truly is a big emergency.  I had Transactions stuck for DAYS before that have been successfully mined in under an hour after I accelerated it for free through ViaBTC.

First, expectin priority transaction processing from a free service is optimistic. Despite claiming to have miners to speed up transactions, many services dont treat free users well. Why would somebody give away a premium service? Busines basics. You are right that these are often teasers to upsell you on a service you may not need.

We know Bitcoin's network is crowded. Miners prioritize high-fee transactions to generate money. That's gaming. Your transaction was likely stuck because miners werent motivated to pick it up soon. It was confirmed after network congestion resolved or your transaction became more profitable to mine.

The main takeaway? Understanding Bitcoin network dynamics is essential. Using external accelerators, especially free ones, is unwise. A risk.

The other ones I know of is the mempool.space and binance which you have to pay for them.

Also if it is paid service the Viabtc works just fine for that too, if you’re ok with the charges. It is even more faster than the free service ( it should be) because they do not only wait for the time they mine their own blocks before they get your transaction included in it, they just collaborate with other miners to get into theirs. So sometimes for faster acceleration it is better.

But for OP what’s best is migrate to a wallet today that allow the use of RBF feature.

Viabtc had a nearly constant share of the pie for the hashrate for years , they decided to limit the numbers of free tx because of $. nothing else
Average fee at 10$ and you offer 100 free spots getting just 2$ back, that's $800 lost an hour , $20k in a day, not the recipe for a profitable business, especially with earning so low on mining.

Viabtc hasn't worked well for a long time(since last I tried it).

There's also this free transaction acceleration service provided by a member of the forum and as far as I know, they've been working for long and still functional. So you might try they out if you have another stuck transaction

You can check the tx "added" yourself, they are always on the min fee for the block.

By the order of submission, ViaBTC supports 20 FREE acceleration chances per hour.

AFAIK,they reduced the free spots from 100 to 20 on or before Jan 7 this year and now we need to login to viabtc account even to use the free acceleration and I assume these changes were made to stop the bots abusing the accelerator and also one account can only submit up to 1 free TX for certain time range which is not mentioned anywhere but also has been in effect already.
To @OP Viabtc is the only free TX accelerator remaining and it works fine which I tried couple of times even in the past week but the only downside is you need to be on time if you want to submit in the allocated 20 slots.

Yup that's why I said: "they decided to limit the numbers of free tx because of $"
When you see your earnings go below 6cents/th as a miner you start getting angry seeing how the pool wastes nearly 1BTC in rewards, not to mention than on top of that Viabtc was not sharing the paid fees with the miners, so it was a double loss for the ones mining with them. There was a topic about that back during the previous spam fest:

The account requirement was to stop the bots indeed but the reduction was about money, why offer that much for free when you can can not only make more directly from adding tx and even more for forcing those who can't get a spot to use the paid accelerator? It's business and a profitable one, that's why every single pool has their own right now, and they even have backroom deals , like Mara which is mining a 3MB tx ever week or so.

The mempool right now is so low a tx that will need to pass the 10sat/b (not vb) viabtc requirement would get confirmed anyhow, so no wonder it's 42 minutes and still 9 out 20 spots left!

Not all tx accelerator is fake, such as viabtc they offer great service. But if you look at not reputable website from google most of them is fake, they just doing scrapping via PHP Curl or post API. Ridiculously they ask a payment first before post a data to real tx accelerator

Yes, now I understood their business model. They are giving free option which when used by a user will never work and this is when they promote paid service to him.

Most of them are just carp/fake accelerators that just baits users to their site to increase their traffic. There are some paid accelerators that are legit, and they do give some free "acceleration" access hourly, but you need to be extremely like to be one of those first 50 person to use their acceleratior service. For the paid services you would be actually paying more than what you would have paid if you added extra fees when making the transaction. The best thing to do is to check the current mempool and determine the fees. Based on that fee, make the transaction. You will be paying a lot, but lesser than what you will be paying when using those accelerator services.

Accelerator is working just that it depends on the one you tried using, I think last week I tried making transfer with a very low gas fee after I waited for about 5 hours the transaction didn't confirm so I have to signed up for a viabtc accelerator and input my txt id after 30 minutes or so my pending transaction was confirmed.

So it depends on the kind of BTC accelerator you used otherwise there are some that doesn't confirm very fast even when network congestion were disturbing that is the accelerator I was using, although then I hardly meet the free acceleration space.

When your transaction is in stuck, your best bet is to use a legitimate transaction accelerator that includes your transaction in a mined block or contact a person who has access to mining pools and can include it. Your another option is to not use fake transaction accelerators (they only broadcast transactions), just do nothing and hope that nodes will forget your transaction and you'll be able to resend them again.
Most of the time you should be able to use Replace by fee or Child Pays For Parent option.

When it comes to bitcoin transactions then the correct term is fee rate not gas fee. Gas fee is used in other altcoins such as ethereum.
Viabtc is a legit accelerator, indeed, but your transaction needs to meet some minimum requirements to be accepted such as paying more than 0.0001BTC/KB and its weight must be less than 0.5kb. Besides, the free service accepts only 20 transactions per hour so you need to be very quick.
