I invested in an upcoming ICO of a digital currency or crypto. It had an impressive white paper. I bought the presale at 0.5 and the coin will be listed at 3.  I was waiting and watching as the coin gets listed since I want to sell it right away for profits. However, as soon as it was listed I see losses. The candlestick graph didn’t make sense , it was red candlestick right away when it should be green as it’s listed in a high price! and until now (2 days) later the graph is still the same as it was the first day. ANY TRADERS, CAN YOU PLEASE ANALYZE THE GRAPH. The pic with 1 red line is the coin I was talking about as it was listed. Pic with 2 lines is what I expected to see. TIL now the coin stayed the same as it was the first day it listed on march 8. It doesn’t make sense to see a coin without any market movement .

It’s definitely a rug pull because the price will not dump continuously if only the presale buyers will sell their tokens because no one will keep selling when they are in loss already while the token is still on early listing unless it’s the team itself unloading their tokens on the liquidity.

This topic should be moved on altcoin discussion since it’s about ICO. You are lucky if you can still sell your tokens because there’s some rug pull that doesn’t let you sell or some have an insane tax for fee before you can sell. Just liquidate your holdings if you have no confidence on the project. But if you think that project is legit then there’s no harm on waiting to recover but most of the time altcoin that suffer heavy dump on initial trading without any sign of recovery result to dead project since the team will just abandon it while slowly depleting the liquidity pool.

What exchange is that in the first place? And can you link us to the trading pair on DexScreener? And while you're at it, what network is that in, or is it it's own network instead of being an ERC20/BEP20/etc? Lot's of questions but without even digging deeper it's likely a scam lol.

Yes, it's a scam. That's a rugpull. The project provided liquidity so it can offload its bag and run with investors funds. Just move on but don't forget this lesson learned so it can form your crypto experience.

The lesson that you have hopefully learned is that you NEVER EVER invest more than you are comfortable with losing.

From $3 down to $0.01m that is seriously a great offload of their tokens. Is the exchange GATE.io?  Are they the same token PAY and PDQ?

you can already tell they have plans to rug by what they are doing on the first day of its listing. Who else could have bagged more than anyone but the crew themselves. this is already a tell tale sign and even if this project just pumps again the next day I would stay away from it because there is a chance the team could go nuts the next day or 2.

What is this Shit OP, ICO's I haven't heard of them from a long time, ICO's are dead a long time ago, on the same time buddy why didn't you realize the golden rule for crypto invest the amount you afford to lose, moving the saving in an ICO what more stupid I person can do after this, sorry for this but really how you got convicted to move money into risk investment market than direct into an ICO.

OK, for you let's analyze, firstly it's normal people who owned coins/tokens dumped it, there are only 2 candles no volume, no marketing strategy, no fundamentals, and no narrative it looks like a perfect rug pull. Now two things you can do, firstly you can curse the crypto and leave it and never look back as punishment, or firstly overcome your emotions get a good rest, and restart your mind and crypto journey by learning and sticking to the market. You cant be rich overnight not even in crypto you better choose gambling for that, (Note: Its totally Haram in my views & religion but blind fires in crypto space = gambling as well).

Putting money into random projects based on "a good white paper" is what people did way back in 2017. NOBODY should still be doing that sort of thing in 2024. It's been years since I've ever heard the term ICO being used.

The ONLY cryptocurrency you should ever be putting so much of your money into is Bitcoin. This is why Crypto, and by association Bitcoin, gets a bad name, because uninformed people who have no experience investing put their money in random projects that can literally be nothing more than a person on the internet making up stuff, and then they lose their money. A white paper is just that, a piece of paper, it's not a viable investment. Stop trying to get rich quick by putting a lot of your money into something insanely risky which potentially isn't even a real thing, and instead start working on building wealth permanently through good investments like Bitcoin.

There is a rule ethos guiding the community and it is to not invest money you know you cannot for any reason lose, mostly if losing it would have dire consequences on your live and livelihood. This is the first mistake you made because this could be a rug pull, or market downturns can drastically affect your investments. In the future your focus should be to invest money that you don't need in the short term, such as funds designated for retirement, and take a long-term view.

I think I was scammed tho, like the other user said, the original holders which I was part of, didn’t even give me a sec to sell my coins. I was planning to hold some as the white paper indicated that every original holder or the coin gets 2% back every time that coin gets traded in the market. You simply buy bitcoin and accumulate at any rate that you afford to. I am sorry if you've been scammed and I admire you still for remaining. Since you don't want to lose money, I don't guarantee that you won't lose but you've got better chance if you invest and accumulate in Bitcoin.

Better luck next time and don't go for any ICO as the days of ICO are over long ago and nowadays most of the ICO are nothing but a dumping scheme prepared by the developers and I have been monitoring few ICOs as they look really impressive hence thought of observing and similar to the one you have shared they have been getting dumped for extended periods of time and to be honest you check any new coins listed on top exchanges they will dump but we will see movementum as it keep fluctuating but a flat red line is red signal. Sorry for your loss and don't try ICO again and also kind pos her about it if you intend to because the advice over here will help you. Start a fresh page with DCA it's a fixed amount at which you will be making recurring Bitcoin purchase I do this monthly and this helps you to buy Bitcoin at highs and lows but at the end you will be in profit when market is in greena dn if it's in red you will not be in huge loss.

I think the point you mentioned is that you won't invest in the ratio 1:6 because you don't wanna take risks this is a very good approach but how you will make it realise to the newbies they just want some very good profits so they do it. The greed for getting rich overnight has destroyed many over the past and it'll in the future

The only solution to this is proper education to the new traders. Once they get educated then they'll never invest into something that is having that much of a risk in it. Once people will stop Investing into scams projects they'll realise that they can't get profits now and eventually this all will stop

The best thing to do in the future is try to never invest in ICO because that place is full of scams , you may have try to prevent your self from easy money promise, because look at the market now as it continues to grow, imagine if you put your money in top 5 currency ? you may  not having this problem now.

I never said I didn't want to take risk. I said it was going to be too MUCH risk for me investing in 1:6 risk to reward stuff. But of course, every business has its level of risk. In the crypto space, any presale that gives you a 1:6 isn't lucrative. That's the way I see it. If it's listed, it's a different thing. Presale means before the project is listed and exposed to the general public. So, you see that it's greater risk investing in presale projects than already listed ones. There are some presale that never make it to the market. If that happens, and the project doesn't get listed; it's simply goodbye to presale investors' funds.

Yes I totally agree. I’m very new and didn’t know much. It’s still exciting to me to learn about digital currencies. I wish I knew more before I invested and lost all the money. I completely agree with your opinion of no hope in this project. The point you mentioned here is quite good that the coin listed at a point 0.5$ pre launch is now listed at 0.000001$ and you know this is something that really discourages the investor.The point here is that the investor should try to recover as much amount as he or she can so that he can you know loose as small amount as possible because in this type of project there is no earning option. Even if it's a scam  or not although it seems to , these projects don't give you profits. From the situation he has listed in his thread I think the best situation would be to recover as much as possible so that he could gain some confidence in trading back.

From 3$ to 0.012$ it looks more like a rug pull. By the way how did you find this project? I think you haven't done enough research about the project before investing in it. Investing in crypto currencies is already a risky task and if its a new project, we should be more careful, as it can cause us financial loss if the project and team have no intention to develop it. If you have invested your lifesaving, then its gone, i think, and you should move on to the new things. Take it as a life lesson, and come back with the knowledge and experience you have gained. It is never too late to come back.

you probably got soft rugpulled at this point the price fall of this coin you mentioned is so embarassing that it become completely useless, this is why choosing the right coin that at least got some liquidity and solid community as well as the foundation that are trusted are important so that you're not getting scammd like this.

honestly if the price were down so low like this I believe you have pretty much lost all of your money, you can be waiting for the price to climb back up again but at the end of the day, you're just gonna be wasting your time

you got rugpulled and there is nothing that you can do just because you are not seeing what you want to see means it doesn’t make sense already. it’s that quite simple: your money would not be given back to you. many investors were just quicker than you to take their profits or maybe it’s the developers themselves who took off when they saw how good it was going.

You did the wrong thing by deciding to increase your capital, which was intended for the treatment of a child, through trading, without having basic knowledge for this. Trading is not a casino or lottery, only an experienced trader gets profit here.

First of all you made a big mistake because you invested most of the money from your life savings. ICO is very oldest method of coin presale and it’s already dead, so why you’re going to buy a random coin from ICO? Where a lot of option to participate in Lunchpad as like Binance conducted project always give you big profits undoubtedly. Now i see this is clearly SCAM project because it's price dumped 100%.

Life savings won't be called like that for no reasons, so I agree, that this must not be used on anything that is risky like investing, trading, or even when opening up a business. ICO proved that being first doesn't always means the best but it's not dead yet since there are still a few projects who use it.

I think the problem is not about the ICO but it's about how trustworthy the project are. Even though launchpad are seem to be better now than then, I won't still say that we can earn a big profit on them because if that was true then why a lot of us are still poor and are still here? Not that I'm with them but I think I already saw a project who also dumped 100% and then still recovers and survives later on. Maybe we can include more evidence for us to say that they are really a scam, only to not sound bitter and biased.

After reading the post history of the OP it became very clear they got scammed and they have realized this fact, it is sad because the bull market attracts a lot of new investors to the market, and instead of getting new members for our community, scammers make sure to make them regret the day they thought about investing on this market, especially cases like the OP as they stated they invested almost all their savings on this coin and a single mistake has cost them so much, while they have no recourse at all to get their money back.

The best thing to do in the future is try to never invest in ICO because that place is full of scams , you may have try to prevent your self from easy money promise, because look at the market now as it continues to grow, imagine if you put your money in top 5 currency ? you may  not having this problem now.

Yes I totally agree. I’m very new and didn’t know much. It’s still exciting to me to learn about digital currencies. I wish I knew more before I invested and lost all the money. Back then bitcoin was “what coin”?  I didn’t even know any investors that talked about bitcoin. I wish I knew tho then I would’ve been one of the few who bought it lol. Thank u for your help.

While checking the white paper of a coin, we can not always be sure that the project will do as well as it said in the white paper. Though if it was really impressive then I can not blame you.

However, as soon as it was listed I see losses. The candlestick graph didn’t make sense , it was red candlestick right away when it should be green as it’s listed in a high price! and until now (2 days) later the graph is still the same as it was the first day.

Obviously this kind of thing happens due to market manipulation. The developers probably made it seem as if like it would do well and has attracted lots of demand from other investors to lure you in but in reality there is not enough demand for this coin.

actually there are no site that i come to know who have this instant success not unless they
have conducted an early advertising and massive events and giveaways that they have gather support
and trust from the forum but without this? most launched casinos suffer from small support and just
need long time before finally meeting their expectations.

If the price of the coin you own after that never goes up, or even tends to go down, and there is no activity from DEV or development of the project, that could be a sign of a scam project. However, if the graph continues to move, and there is still development from DEV, you just need to hold the coins you own until the price returns to normal, or rises. However, it all depends on how the project is developed.
