This application (lightning) was really well done, it was designed for merchants and I used it to give demos to my friends (it was compatible with coincorner's NFC card, for example).
I hadn't used it for a while, and now there's no trace of it anywhere. Everything has disappeared from the web as if it had never existed. The craziest thing is that I still had it on an old phone with sats on it (10 dollars). Just in case, I try to remove the sats and send them to breez and ..... it worked!

So my question is: what happened to Voltpay and how was it possible to withdraw the sats?

Good question! I can't find any mention of VoltPay since 2022. It's like they dropped off the face of the earth. Their website and social media profiles are all gone. It seems like they didn't have a large user base.

It's very strange. And I still don't understand how it was possible to withdraw the 10 dollars.

I searched for this wallet and did not find any details about it. only mentioned that it is a simple point of sale app without any details. lightning network recovery for these services can be imported by obtaining the wallet seed and select the path in addition to an encrypted backup of your channels. search for this information and you can back-up your channels to any wallet.

I haven't used Voltpay but when I first discovered its video on youtube, it really impressed me. It's basically what we all want, to be able to pay with Bitcoin in stores. I like it so much that I even created a thread about it: Are Bitcoin LN POS terminals the future of bitcoin payments?

voltpay.app was the original domain. Right now, when you type voltpay.app, you are redirected to google.com but I don't know why they enabled this redirection. The project was probably not very popular and maybe their developers gave up, their twitter account, @VoltPayApp doesn't exist either.

Thank you very much for the link. Finally it reassures me a little to know that others have already seen or used this app, as there is no trace of it anymore, if I didn't have this app on my smartphone, I might have thought it had never existed. Personally, I think it was really excellent. Too bad.

waybachmachine shows a screenshot of the service dated last December, so something happened at the beginning of this year.
You will find the link to voltpay.app dated last December here https://web.archive.org/web/20231203102400/http://voltpay.app/
In addition to Twitter, they have the option to contact you by email, but I do not think they will respond to you.

Regardless of what happened to the Voltpay application, one positive thing is that at least we don't have any scam apps bearing the same name in the Play Store and App Store. I just checked and there is nothing. There is a DeFi app called Volt, but that's something else. It probably didn't have a wide userbase for scammers to be interested in creating phishing versions of the software.

One of the good thing to do for an unexpired domain that stop its operation. Although they can just make a notice of stopping the operation on their domain. But since they thought the project is not that popular or almost no one using it then erasing all of its records in the internet is the best thing.

Well, since some third party directory listed them, some of its details are still on the internet just like on this directory[1].
