Yes and it has something to do with risk appetite. Major coins in the market are known to have slight market price movement on a daily basis, except when there is a bullish pattern such as what we are seeing at the present. There are people who are earning big profit from new altcoins and also people who are doing well with estabished ones. That's just it; what's bad is to engage into something you know nothing about and it is simply better to know what would work best for you as I said.

When it comes to the best, I'm sure everyone wants to invest in Bitcoin. But the problem is that Bitcoin doesn't always provide huge returns and there is a lot in the news about people getting rich from altcoins. Growth of up to hundreds of times makes everyone tempted to buy altcoins.
I also invest in altcoins. And I'm not a good analyst. Therefore I only try to invest in coins in the top 100 or 200 CMC. I read a lot and hear several people's analysis of a coin. But I still make decisions based on my own choices. But what you need to remember is that when I get around 50% profit or more, then I will TP and save everything in Bitcoin.

Something about AltCoins that lot of Investors don't know is that you can Invest with a low capital and if you're a good market analyzer to understand that the market holds to offer and going for the right projects, you could always Invest lower capital in that AltCoin and earns bigger of profits at all costs.
But investors who doesn't know about this AltCoin analysis would always have that wrong impressions towards AltCoins. Although AltCoins differs which could grantee you profits and reliability.

In my opinion, many investors understand the nature of altcoins: investing a small amount can potentially yield significant profits. The challenge lies in identifying promising projects and understanding the risk.  While a small percentage of altcoins may offer large returns, the inherent nature of altcoins is high risk, high reward. This substantial risk often deters investors, leading them to favor Bitcoin or other top 10 altcoins, which fit their risk tolerance and analysis.

If you choose to invest in altcoins, it's crucial to use 'cold money' – funds you can afford to lose.  For example, if you typically budget $5 for coffee, consider allocating $3 to altcoins and $2 for coffee. This way, if your altcoin investment fails, your overall loss is minimal.

I'm not disputing that a huge number of investors ain't investing in the AltCoins but the number are ought to be more but are being discouraged due to the system volatility of AltCoins besides it's hard to believe that there are AltCoins Investors that doesn't invest on Bitcoin but it could be right that there are bitcoin Investors that doesn't Invest on  the AltCoins. Thats generally to say that bitcoin Investors are more populated than the AltCoins Investors. We all want to make this profits but applying conciousness so we don't  count steady losts like we're just gambling in the system.

What are your friends investing into, is it Bitcoin or altcoins have you seen the numbers of Investors buying meme or shitcoins that they know won't have a long life in the market but just as the trend is favouring memecoins they're investing into them. More investors are buying altcoins, every bull maket it's altcoins that get more investors. When partnership are announced, it's the altcoins that are getting all the partnerships. Companies are partnering with altcoins and new altcoin are getting launched always.

It's big whales that are buying Bitcoin, I'm saying investors aren't keeping off altcoins instead more investors are investing in altcoins. The only time Bitcoin gets more investors is during the bear market and before Bitcoin halving but after people sell their Bitcoin profits to buy altcoins. Many investors still believe they'll make more profits investing in altcoins and this is also the thinking that make them invest.

Having a good profit from altcoins is a dream that everyone wants, but considering you need to take a look at everything and sometimes your analysis mostly doesn't give you the expected results then I can sort of understand why they don't want to trade altcoins

What analysis actually, how do you analyse a good project, by reading their white paper or checking out if they are a scam, what exactly any written know how method, even I you do all the research in the world if you would get decived you would and the only thing reserved actually helps us do is to separate the novice scammers from the very good once in the AltCoins market, if your not going for old coins then I'll advice its better to stay off AltCoin.
You are right @Troytech, even the altcoins that have emerged recently in my opinion only rely on hype to develop. without this hype it seems very difficult to survive. Never mind new coins, old coins issued under 2000, very few have survived until now. most of them are already worthless. even though if you look at the white paper they have created, it is very convincing and carries the latest technology.

but if it's just to double your money and think of it as gambling there, I don't think it's a problem and of course you also have to be prepared if you have to lose the money you invest.

Absolutely, you have made a solid point that altcoins are high risk and high reward venture that requires careful evaluation of the project being considered for investment. It is only imperative to allocate funds that one can comfortably afford to lose. After committing to an investment take a balancing act and use risk management tools, such as stop-loss orders to miminmize potential losses.

Yes many investors stay away from altcoins because they are afraid of losing their capital. But this fear is not uncommon because most alt coins are scams. And many investors fall victim to these scams. But with proper market analysis and investing in altcoins  I don't think it has anything to do with abstinence. But a proper market analyst should refrain from investing in altcoins and invest in certain altcoins because those who are proper market analysts and have an understanding of the project know which ones are scams and which ones are real.  Knows the difference.

Altcoins market too risky in terms of it's a high volatile market so good and professional investors are try to skip altcoins investment but that's not mean they are not good crypto analysts, it's absolutely your wrong concept.

I think it is ok to invest in altcoins for those who can analyze and invest in altcoins. Those who invest without analyzing about altcoins will most of the time fall victim to scams. I think it is very easy to make a lot of profit by investing in altcoins.  We need to find the right altcoins. But most of the time new investors fall victim to scams, they can't find the right altcoins and as a result they fall victim to scams.

Spot on! Altcoins can be intimidating because of the obvious risks, that's why many stick to Bitcoin.  But the beauty of altcoins lies in a little capital going a long way. It's all about doubling down with DYOR and finding the right project, and boom, potential for massive gains!

But many fail to understand the market. It's also not easy given the unpredictability at times. People also don't know how to look for strong altcoins and read charts. Bottom line: If you have the bucks to invest and take bigger risks, altcoins carry the potential for greater reward. But the safer choice is BTC. You also need strong portfolio rebalancing skills or you can look into a tool (check r100k) for automatic, low-risk rebalancing with the right altcoins and BTC for max gains.

The correct thing is to invest according to your skills because long-term or short-term investments are equally profitable. If you are not good at analyzing market movements, it is best to invest in the long term because the risk is lower. if you are not good at researching new projects then invest in popular altcoins like ETH and BNB.

Op you are wrong, the fact that some persons don't invest in altcoin doesn't mean they are not good with analysing the price movement. It depends on your choice of preference. While most persons who are into Bitcoin holding deem altcoin investment as trash is because, altcoin investment is also seen as a form of gambling, we have so many scam projects out there that even expert crypto analysts fall for their tricks, so to be on the safer side it's better to maintain one project and make a whole lot of profit out of it, rather than diversifying your funds for investment. And aside personally, the knowledge I have about Bitcoin has given me enough assurance that there are better days still anticipating to come. And reason why most of those projects fail as shitcoin Is because of lack of good management skills but Bitcoin having enough nodes as possible, it's enough reasons to believe that the probability of getting hacked, of failed project Is almost impossible.

Very relevant. Even though we have been present for a long time and dabbled in trading, even though we are good at analyzing though, sometimes we can still make mistakes in predictions.

Money if we invest in altcoins, especially if we make mistakes in making decisions, it feels like our money is eaten by termites. There are so many victims and the average trader who tries his luck in new tokens, which comes with new faces and slightly modified concepts seems different from others. Indeed, we admit that not all of them lose, some profit, but others lose up to 20-30% of their capital on average.

Yes and I also agree because for the recommended options, it is not complicated, ETH and BNB are still very good as the main investments. Although we also see the current market conditions, there is still a correction where the price of BTC in the market is still rising and falling. The question now Do we want to buy again now to increase ownership or still hold it a long period of time.

In reality the entire cryptocurrencies market as a whole carries significant risk with  altcoins representing greater volatility. For instance, we have seen Bitcoin losing its value more than 80%  during the bearish market of 2022 to 2023. However, In alts space there are good gems like Solana amd Polkadot, both are backed by professional and experienced teams. Solana price has surged from $10 to above $200 during the past six months which is a remarkable growth. The team of Polkadot is also engaged in enhancing its network to add new features, potentially setting the stage for significant growth in the upcoming bull cycle.

You are right to an extend but majority of them  keep off from altcoins not because they not good crypto analyst maybe it could be that they have fallen in to a bad project or it also be that they met or have seen more of persons that has been in a scammed projects. Another important thing is the level of risk tolerance assessment which differs from one individual to another.

Re: Most investors keeps off from AltCoins because they're not good crypto analysts.
The fact that most of the altcoins turned out to be a scam project is the reason why these analysts aren't touching most of the altcoins.
However, I still believe that there are still some few altcoins that I can consider as "established" or an altcoin that will stay for a very long time like Ethereum.

For me, altcoins are still a good investment despite some of them are being created to scam investors. Many investors earned most of their profits investing in these altcoins. On YouTube, I've seen some crypto analysts doing some TA on some of the top altcoins as well like Ethereum and Ripple. Maybe some crypto analysts are just sticking on Bitcoin rather than touching those altcoins because of the risk these coins have compare to Bitcoin which obviously has a lower risk.

I guess even though these analysts are just playing safe that's why they are focusing more on Bitcoin. Altcoins are not good? Maybe for most of them, but there are some which I can consider as "good". After all, we can still make profit when we invest into altcoins.

There are too many reasons why many forum members stay away from altcoins, but in my opinion the risk reward ratio is not good enough for most forum members to take a risk with altcoins.

This is because the amount of risk that you need to take is enormous, and while some may argue the reward can be just as big, what they are not considering is that the number of coins you will have to research just to find one good coin is very high, and most investors do not have the time to do this, and when you add that only one out of a hundred coins become successful, you can easily see the reward you could obtain out of your investment does not match your risk, so it is way more simple to just invest in bitcoin and hold your coins, as this can be done in a matter of minutes, while the rewards are still great.

Maybe it can be simply said why many people advise not to invest in altcoins and stay away from them, namely because the financial psychological impact after entering is extraordinary, even though the profits are only very small and also those who have suggested have studied and paid attention to these items such as market trends, chart patterns, and other technical indicators.

Simply put, those who understand don't want to play, be burdened with small things but have bad risks in their investment journey and time is also a reference in the trading cycle.

The fact is that investing in altcoins is a gamble, because of the risks of not really knowing which one that'll really fly and give you that massive ROI, because there are more scam projects than legit ones, so as you've said, it'll take an experienced crypto analyst to research and figure out if a project is scam. A crypto investor needs to learn how to research projects thoroughly before buying, if not they might see a hyped project and believe that it'll profit them as promised, then they'll lose their funds in a scam. I wouldn't recommend a newbie investor without experience to go into altcoins investment, except for top altcoins that have gained reputation, but it's always safer to start with Bitcoin..

One of the major mistake made by a lot of us is by investing more than what we can afford to loss, yes of a truth there is either profits or loss in every investment but the risk involvement in Altcoins are really much hence it should not be considered as an investment such that you should only make use of the money that you can be able to bear without devastation in the situation where things didn't work to your own favor or expectations.

I think there is a mistake in your words. Every investor wants to keep his principal fund safe from risk . People who come to trading with a lot of analysis tend to ignore altcoins . Because the altcoin market is very risky and volatile . Those who are real professional traders prefer to invest in bitcoins rather than investing in alt coins. But traders who invest not only in Bitcoin but also invest in altcoins. However, the project checks very carefully.
