I dont know how exactly start this but the other day i organize a new contest in the will of an educational purpose and also gift some money to new users or beginners in the forum.

The rules were pretty simple and you can also win a "ticket" to another competitoon organized for me in the future. This are for example contest ruling by me for 10 mbtc and this other

This was the contest wich i decided to lock the thread after a few days of NOBODY replie on the thread which is was FREE TO JOIN plus with the BTC in this value was a good ammount of money.

I know everybody is free to join and i also dont expect to all the people willing to join, but come on man 0 replies when we can see a lot of merit beggers everywhere or posting nonsense in every place really dissapointing me.

In the other contest i made i always try to be more strict in who can participated to avoid multiaccounts or people who only wants to win and dont brought anything to the forum but this time i was trying to get more people into exclusive for newbies or beginners.

In the last words i have right now i want to say also, im gonna launch other contest in the future for sure like the previous one for regular users (sr members+) and i think is gonna be focus on NBA or Champions League so stary tuned!

I understand how you feel mate.Probably the newbies were scared, or didn't know how to sign a message. Next time, please make sure to add the link to a guide on how to do the task as it will help newbies who want to participate. I bet you a majority of newbies didn't participate because they had no clue on how to sign a message. If you had added a link to a post which explained how to sign messages you wouldn't have been disappointed on the outcome of the contest.

Anyways, I checked your history and kudos to you on nice contests you've initiated in the past looking forward to participate in one in the future  Smiley Smiley

This thread has no valid point, how could you say bad behavior by Newbies or Beginners? It's someone's own choice to either apply in a contest or not and you can't force anyone to apply in a contest. You have added a strict rule of that "Signing a message" which most newbies don't understand at first place.

I suggest you to control your anger and be patient next time when you organize a contest. Also try to make the rules not too difficult for newbies. And, to be honest this thread wasn't needed in first place because the point you raised is totally invalid.

I also was on the way to ask why the title of this Topic is " Bad behavior made by Newbies or Beginners " as this is not true as SamReomo has written.
First i thought that there are a lot of newbies that spam somewhere or in your topics.
Maybe change the title of the thread.

Also that problem has not really to do with the Forum and i guess this topic would be fit better in the reputation board as in Meta.
Good luck with your next contest and that it goes better next time.

To be honest with you, when you're making a contest and its  viable one, people will rush to applying to it, why you may experience dryness on such thread might be because of the way people see it as unattractive to them and they are not being convinced on the whole thing you're giving them as reward, no one want to renders a wasted efforts and you should also know that mbtc has no value and they want something that they could hold unto, you're also spamming the thread as well, if none replies doesn't mean you should be posting continues, you can only bump the thread and that's all.

you should also know that mbtc has no value and they want something that they could hold unto.

This is a wrong idea Aanuoluwatofunmi who said mBTC has no value? In the contest Op hosted, he was actually offering 1mbtc as the first price for the contest of which as of the time I am writing this is equivalent to $70.
No matter how small or large any amount of Bitcoin is, it can still be expressed in mBTC. The only significance is that it is more efficient in smaller units of Bitcoin.  mBTC simply means a Bitcoin into a thousand units . So instead of using decimals to express 0.0008 Bitcoins you can simply say 0.8mBTC.

I'm not sure this is what he meant. I am sure he was trying to say they probably did not participate in the contest because they felt the reward was too small. As it is common to find contest in the forum with prices a little fancier that that sometimes.
And for the record, large amounts of Bitcoins are expressed as regular Bitcoins not in mBTC because it will be irrational to say 1000mBTC when you can just say 1BTC. Therefore you can definitely conclude that mBTC is used in cases of just a few 100 dollars just to avoid the use off too much decimals.

To be honest I did now see that thread until you made this thread. I mostly avoid opening threads that have emojis in them, I thought of them as some scheme that a newbie might want to sell, sorry to say but I judge threads on the basis of emojis which is kinda absurd but I am also shocked to see that there is no reply on it. You are giving a good amount of money though, and signing a message is not a big task, I don't know why would anyone not have joined it.

Although, I am a little excited for your next contests, I suggest you to open these threads in service section, there you will get a lot of interaction, and if you still don't get any then you can make a small thread in this section and can ask newbies to go there and join. It totally depends on the rules of the forum if they allow you to do this.

When I read words about bad behaviour, I thought something about cheating, not that Newbies just ignored contest. It's strange because in current value 1 mbtc is great money and usually people here takes every opportunity to take much less money. Maybe we just don't have Newbies capable to sign a message?

Contests doesn't belongs to Service board. Games & rounds is apropriate place for it. But since this contest is targeted at newbies for educational purposes, OP made it in Beginners board.

I noticed that the topic only had 82 views, which means not a lot of people found the topic. Beginners & Help is a busy board, what you should have done is to bump the topic occasionally to keep it at the top. I think you locked the topic early. The contest is supposed to be open until the end of March, right? It is possible that interested persons might be waiting to post their prediction/signed message at the last minute.

- Open until 31 march for submissions.
maybe you should have left the thread open until the deadline just like what SatoPrincess mentioned, sometimes contest threads can have a slow start but when people start posting on the thread to join it will attract more members who are qualified to join the contest and before you know it you have enough people who have joined your contest.

I'd say the "Newbies or Beginners" did good ignorning a topic that breaks forum rules. Forum-based games belong in Games and rounds, unless you get Admin's approval for another board.

The title ("👑👑👑 🚀💰CHALLENGE/CONTEST FOR BEGINNERS BTC PRIZE SIGN MESSAGE 🎉🎉🎉🚀💰") looks like a spam thread. I see a picture of guys and the topic continues about the NBA. I expect the majority of Bitcoin users not to care about the NBA. The title and all your posts in the topic ARE SCREAMING! That's against basic netiquette.

But this is the worst part:
DISSAPOINTED FOR THE BEGINNERS BEHAVIOR
You're seriously disappointed in people not caring about what you have to offer? What would you want to do: force people to comment in your topic?

Sometimes not all ideas or projects are successful. Even in a community like Bitcointalk.

So don't worry too much about it. See what you can improve and do differently to attract more attention. And remember, just because you're well known doesn't mean you'll be more successful. It all depends on several factors.

but come on man 0 replies when we can see a lot of merit beggers everywhere or posting nonsense in every place really dissapointing me.
Isn't you already know the reason?

They're choose merit over "uncertain money" so if you give the rewards like "1st = 50 merits, 2nd = 25 merits and so on" I'm 100% sure there will be a lot newbies participate in your event, they will create multiple accounts or reviving their old newbie accounts.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't suggest you to add merit as the reward, I'm just saying the reality.

I also was on the way to ask why the title of this Topic is " Bad behavior made by Newbies or Beginners " as this is not true as SamReomo has written.
Bad behaviour made by Newbies or Beginners for not replying for a context organised for them.

First i thought that there are a lot of newbies that spam somewhere or in your topics.
Alot of newbies refused to spam his thread or topic, it looks like a bad behaviour

Maybe change the title of the thread.
Or move the topic where it belongs.

Good luck with your next contest and that it goes better next time.

If he wants many newbie participants, he should organise a contest for newbies to narrate their experience in the forum Grin

First of all thanks to all the feedback guy, asides of im in agree or disagree with your opinions.

One thing i have to clarify is maybe you feel the words to harsh when for me is not to harsh not being a native speaker of english. I mean for the word BAD.

Second thing i dont really know why some people come and tell me where i have to post the contest like i never posted in the correct section when my two previous contest were made in the correct one.

but come on man 0 replies when we can see a lot of merit beggers everywhere or posting nonsense in every place really dissapointing me.

Seems like you found my point, and for that what are you pointing were my words, for THAT behavior.

Anyways i hope to see all of your joining my next contest in the Game and Round section   Grin Cheesy

Dont get mad about it, maybe i sound emotional because im not an english native speaker, but it was not the case.

I expect the majority of Bitcoin users not to care about the NBA.

I looked into this absolute arrogant statement from LoyceV!   Wink

Bitcoin is gambling.  Basketball is gambling.  You think they would have a common base.
There are 220M bitcoin users worldwide, 20M in North America.  There are 400M NBA fans, mostly in North America.
I then looked for a VENN diagram that could visually describe the ratio.  Realizing I was spending to much time on this, I decided to just do a quick estimation.

LoyceV's expectation is correct!  yay!  Now if this was about Soccer, with 3,500M fans world wide, it might be different.

I on this agree with the majority that there is nothing "bad" about his behavior and the OP himself claims that perhaps it is not the best word due to the fact that he is not a native English speaker. And the other thing I also agree on is that if the contest has been unsuccessful the OP should reflect on what he has done wrong and not blame the others, more so when most of the responses in this thread are along those lines.
