For greater control and security, we consider managing our crypto in a personal crypto wallet instead of leaving it on CEXs. To interact directly with blockchains and manage crypto, we need a crypto wallet application. In the past, I used the MEW website for Ethereum account management. Since 2020, I've preferred mobile apps, specifically TrustWallet on iOS. I still rely on it on my old iPhone for occasional crypto trades. While I've enjoyed using TrustWallet as a regular user - it's fast, user-friendly, and supports a wide range of blockchains [1] - recent security concerns require attention: SECBIT Labs, a security research firm (not affiliated with the SEC), identified a potential vulnerability in TrustWallet's iOS app. This issue allegedly stemmed from code using functions meant only for testing. These functions could have generated weak private keys, making it easier for attackers to steal crypto from affected accounts. The timeframe in question is for wallets created between February and August of 2018 [2]. While I'm glad I missed the 2018 TrustWallet vulnerability, it raises concerns about potential unknown issues. After all, even established hardware wallets like Ledger had problems recently [3]. While I've been a loyal TrustWallet user, recent events have prompted me to diversify my crypto storage. I'm trying out SafePal on iOS for additional security. Hardware wallets have also piqued my interest, and I plan to research and invest in one soon using some of my uptrend gains. There's no denying the convenience of mobile crypto wallets, but it's a trade-off for the enhanced security hardware wallets offer. I would like to know your views on crypto wallets: - Are you using TrustWallet? Will you continue to trust TrustWallet?
- Are you using other crypto wallet apps?
- Is a hardware wallet really necessary for your crypto investment?

- Are you using TrustWallet? Will you continue to trust TrustWallet?
- Are you using other crypto wallet apps?
- Is a hardware wallet really necessary for your crypto investment?
I don't trust “TRUST” wallets. First, they are closed-source wallets owned by a centralised exchange (binance), which might also have access to your wallet without your knowledge. I do use other crypto wallet apps for Bitcoin. I make use of mobile wallets like BlueWallet and Electrum. Since you are an iOS user, BlueWallet is the one available for you. As last I checked, Electrum doesn't have an iOS version yet. Then, for altcoins I make use of, Metamask and Unstoppable Wallet are also highly recommended here. Hardware wallets are not necessary, but they are essential. If you can protect your wallet without it getting hacked due to the carelessness of clicking on phishing links or connecting your wallet to a wallet drainer, which will wipe your wallet without you noticing, then you are free to use your wallet. One thing about your wallet is your ability to protect and guide it from the reach of others. If you are holding a very large amount of crypto, an offline wallet is best for you.

- Are you using TrustWallet? Will you continue to trust TrustWallet?
Despite the advertisement of being open source. Trust wallet is really close source. They are also project by Binance which is a centralized exchange that wants to control user data. I don’t trust them to hold my crypto savings but I’m still using it for my temporary transaction such as for trading purposes. But in general trust issue, I don’t but I have no choice since Metamask is the same while Trustwallet is more user friendly. - Are you using other crypto wallet apps?
Yes, Hardware wallet and metamask as an alternative to this wallet depending on what device I’m using. - Is a hardware wallet really necessary for your crypto investment?
Super necessary since you can’t trust a wallet that is not an air gapped especially for your assets that you hard earned. You should invest on better quality wallet for security purposes because all your money is worthless no matter how big it is if stolen later on.

yes, I use trustwallet to make my transactions easier for BSC, until now I still trust trustwallet because I only use it to store assets and send my assets, without linking my wallet to any sites, I think it will be safe

NOTE: Ledger has had its problems, but it's not comparable, and definitely not justifiable to not use a hardware wallet because of it. The Ledger hardware wallets are still safe and secure — as the "breach" (more of an exploit) was on the UI-side. You're still fine as long as you didn't blindly confirm transactions the Ledger device.

There are a lot of users who use trust wallet due to the fact that it can be use as bridge to connect to other dapps. Still being a closed source and a product of a biggest CEX it has a loyal user base and new users are downloading it everyday. Which is evident with the rating and number of downloads displayed on the Google Play Store.
I don't fancy this wallet as I use Electrum wallet for Bitcoin and Meta Mask for other blockchains. I was planning to use the Unstoppable wallet but I have shelved my plans for now.
Having a hardware wallet is considered a good way of securing crypto. It is not compulsory that everyone needs to have one. It is good for those who are long term holders and those who are accumulating every month.

Trust wallet have been in existence for some years now,and a lot of people prefer using trust wallet to reserve most of their coins and as well they also use it to receive coins from most of this projects, ever since I started using trust wallet I have never encounter any challenge,so in this case I think trust wallet is safe to reserve coins.

I haven't used trust wallet before to crypto transaction but I have a trust wallet address. So I don't much any experience using it, but I have used some couple of wallets like electrum, blue wallet, meta mask... But amongst all the wallet I have had experience with, I prefer electrum wallet to others. And when we talk about hard ware Wallet, they are considered the safest and best for holding larger amount of coins. If you would want to hold I large amount of coin I prefer you buy a hardware wallet, but the thing is, they are kind of expensive than using a non custodial wallet.

1. Yes, I am a Trustwallet user. I think I have no problem when using Trustwallet because it has a nice interface as well as good security. I also chose it because there are many crypto wallets available there. Maybe my little doubt is because there is no facility to view the private key there. But I don't think it has much effect on my few coins. I think I will continue use Trust Wallet, until I'm find more good wallet.
2. Yes, I have other crypto wallets too. Formerly, I use MEW web to create a wallet. But currently MEW web is no longer available for creating new wallets, so I now use MEW Android. I have also used Metamask from the past until now.
3. I think a hard wallet is only needed to store a lot of crypto. For my meager crypto, I don't think I need it yet for now.

I have used it but I don't use it a lot and if I'll continue to trust it. I'll use it but I wouldn't trust it with that much of my assets, a few amount of deposits probably. Are you using other crypto wallet apps?
Yes, some other multicurrency wallet but the same as what I am saying about Trust wallet, I wouldn't go all in with my assets to any of them. Is a hardware wallet really necessary for your crypto investment?
Yes, 100%. I've been trusting my portfolio to a hardware wallet that I have been using for a long time and will continue to do so.

Trust Wallet is still a popular choice among many users. Overall, I have used Trust Wallet and I am satisfied with it, I have no complaints about Trust Wallet. Now even though I have less use of it, I have used trust wallet regularly for a long time and never faced any problems. Despite Trust wallet being a non-custodial wallet, individuals have complete control over private keys and funds. Trust wallet is safe for me and I will continue to use it for my current or future needs.

This is my main wallet for my day to day transactions with crypto and so far I also didn't experience any problem with it. If you're too afraid and don't have any confidence with Trust wallet then better not to force yourself to use it and use the alternatives instead. Your safety should be your priority, i still have my hard wallet for my long term holding and having more wallet means you are protecting yourself from any harm from the hackers and scammers as well.

Actually last month when I am leaving trust wallet but still I can recover my account through my seed phrase and I am glad to say that there's nothing wrong about my experience the tractios I made was smooth not just fast but at least a couple of minutes, hours my transaction is completed and my money are safe of course that is the most important thing of a wallet. And as of me I trusted trust wallet untill now. And storing my crypto is safe when I'm use trust wallet.

Is the transaction cheaper in Trust wallet than on Metamask? I think there is no difference to just store your assets on Binance exchange after all they are just owned by same company. Storing them on the exchange itself seem safer since you can ask ffor support too. But come to think of it. Those opensource wallets, you are not also sure when those developers suddenly just modify its code without alerting users. You'd be surprise one day the opensource wallet you use for years are actually modified a day ago. Who knows, its hard to trust anyone anymore.

I have used TrustWallet for some time, but i am not using it anymore. Not because their service is not good but i have found another wallet that is more convenient for me. I haven't faced any issues before using TrustWallet, and i think it is one of the best in the industry for a multichain wallet. But it is best to keep your funds in a hardware wallet as it provides the best security for your funds. If you are a DeFi user you need to use any online wallet even if it is not a trusted wallet.

In 2016, I also used MEV, then switched to MM. Now I use MM and Bitget in parallel. I can’t say that I don’t trust Trustwallet and probably the presence of a fairly large number of different crypto wallets creates fierce competition between them, i.e. their creators improve them and customize them. Moreover, no one is immune from errors, and over time (with the development of our knowledge, training) it becomes easier to identify bugs/features in the old code of wallets, smart contracts, etc.

Ok so it was a vulnerability on IOS app and that might have already been fixed. It's not that your private keys were going anywhere or the app developer using our funds. It just meant a loophole existed that could have been exploited to find your locally saved private key. We always go through these bugs and vulnerabilities and as it advances with patches, it becomes more and more secure. I would have expected better security on trust wallet app but as we have moved forward, we know trust wallet is more secure than ever. I'd still trust the trust wallet as it's one of the best non-custodial wallet we have.

No, I am not using trust wallet. Actually I have heard different kinds of stories from different people. Some of them claim that trustwallet isn’t that safe and secure as their funds get “drained” or something of similar but some people also claim to never have any problem regarding the wallet. Maybe those who say negative reviews were not exactly careful with their wallet I am not using a hardware wallet right now but if I reach a point where I own too many coins then that is the time I think to have a hardware wallet.

But make sure to not buy any of their S1 line because these devices are closed source like TrustWallet. TBH, I nearly bought this device because there was a free shipping promo that time, good thing I researched further. I'd check the Open Source Hardware Wallets thread. Are you using TrustWallet? Will you continue to trust TrustWallet?[/li][/list]
Nope, plus I've found an open source multi-crypto wallet alternative-- unstoppable wallet. But it's not for everyone because the number of cryptocurrencies supported are minimal and there have been some syncing issues from a lot of users. I did encounter the sync problem only once but then again, i only use it as a side wallet e.g. when i have to renew subsciptions lol Are you using other crypto wallet apps? apps for mobile? only bluewallet and unstoppable wallet Is a hardware wallet really necessary for your crypto investment? If you wanna sleep better, yes lol
