Most Nigeria leaders lack the charisma and competency to make good policy and economic decision that be leverage to the development of the country instead they blame their predecessor for their failure.
The past despensation used eight yours to blame his predecessor for his failure  instead of looking for a way to make a good policy that will foster development and good governance. This present dispensation also adopt the blame game to cover his weakness and empty vision. It's good to be in power but let it be on creating making policies and good governance that will impact positively to the life of the citizen.

Actually I am not that surprised by the actions of this present government because the high level of incompetence in their ranks is very high, just look at the economic crisis the country is going through, instead of them to go for the real cause of the situation, and solve it, they are doing something else, by attacking people that have nothing to do with naira losing value,  and they have not pause and think that all they have done, is their any difference,? Because things are even more expensive in the market,  let just watch and see where this their actions leads them to.

But the past and the present leaders are incompetent. What they know more is politics and not economy. Let me say there should be no room to complain. We all know the problem we have in Africa which is lack of production. Common pencil, ruler, torch lights, light bulbs are all made in China. We import matches from India. Government are not looking for ways to make sure Nigeria can be one of the countries producing phones, computers and the likes. The government do not fund researches they way they should be funded, telling the researchers to makes new things that can favour local production of something useful to the country and also be able to represent the country in the world. We just want to remain more of a depending nation and rely more on the West. They said they are joining BRICS, let us see how this will help if the foundation that is faulty is not yet repaired. Nigeria lag behind in technology advancement and many of what they are manufacturing are inferiors. Government needs to tackle all these. Is the present government tackling it? No.

the inability to have a genuine succession of leaders in our country is part of the major issue bedeviling us as a nation. Every administration want to prove a point that they are superior to the previous administration and would normally speak Ill and condemn all the works the past administration has tried to achieve only to set up a totally new plan on ground that's totally unachievable within a space of four years after which a circle of leaders that aren't ready for any long term developmental goals keeps on springing up every four years.

The blame game only goes to show that we are not concerned about the state of our nation and that all we are after is just mere sympathy and show offs to suggest that we're doing better than the previous administration even when their is nothing to show up for in the lives of the average Nigerian man on the street.

First of all, I don't know where your poll is heading to because the question is not properly in order likewise the options provided is confusing as the question itself. Now, you won't understand the pressure in leadership until you become part of the system. Some sectors in this country have been destroyed to the core beyond repair. Blaming the predecessor doesn't actually mean the government is incompetent unless proven otherwise. Rebuilding process is not easily visible as compared to start from the scratch.

Furthermore, there's no difference between us the citizens and the leadership. Development is not just the responsibility of leadership but everyone's responsibility including each of us here. Our leaders are blaming their predecessor while we are blaming the leaders without any suggestions that will help them. Everyone is very competent as floor member until you are being saddle with the responsibility of decision making and you'll realize that things are not easy as it seems. On daily basis, everyone comes here to lament on one challenge or the other but no single post suggesting the right thing to do to make things work right.

We already had enough blames, let appreciate the government with little efforts they're doing and help them with solutions to make things better. Your suggestion might be considered out of expectation. I believe some people here are closer to some of these policy makers and will probably offer them your suggestions.

But the past and the present leaders are incompetent. What they know more is politics and not economy. Let me say there should be no room to complain. We all know the problem we have in Africa which is lack of production. Common pencil, ruler, torch lights, light bulbs are all made in China. We import matches from India.

I know you are just being sarcastic and exaggerating because Nigeria actually produce pencil and ruler that you mentioned. I'm not proud about the current state of this our beloved country but believe me, no country in this world that produce all that they use. You can not technically produce everything your country consume, you import some and export some too. Nigeria is not as bad as we always portray in the public. Let be honest, how many of us like to patronize our local products? Only few but we still want them to improve when we are not giving them the support needed. No company will survive without patronage.

The first pencil factory in Nigeria was established in 2018 or so, yet they are still importing pencils. See how late it is for a country like Nigeria that have so much population. But can't you see a lot of products that we buy that are from China and other countries? Almost 90% aside food. The fact still remain that lack of production is our problem and the federal government do not look for ways to increase the production. The one that I am most concerned about are electronics and other appliances. Our country can not produce everything but we need to try and encourage increasing productivity. Federal government needs to work on constant electricity to begin with and fund researches. Also making the environment to encourage foreign investors.

Make we call spade a spade, our government no de try at all, na empty promises dem de always give us until dem tenure complete and di economy go still de worse off dan before dem enter office. Blame game na im be every new administration way, dem go continue to de blame previous administration till dem go loot belle full and comot for office and di next people go continue di blame from where dem stop, in di end no visible achievement and basic amenities wey dem go put in place, meanwhile poverty go de increase everyday.

I hear senator Akpabio, de talk for national TV about how di administration inherit depts from previous administration, I just laugh say na dem way, de play blame game to cover dem incompetence and lack of will to better di country. Why dem no see di handwriting on di wall say dem no de capable to repair di damages of previous administration before dem enter office, dem for allow people wey get wetin e take to repair our decayed economy to take charge. Poverty too much for di country and people are hungry, abeg make anybody no tell me say our leaders de try, because na BIG lie be dat.

Nigeria political system has always been a system of blame, looting public funds, taking unnecessary loan that will depreciate the economic system why they haven't pay the outstanding one, shearing large amount of money and buying of luxury cars why we are owing neighbouring countries. Importing of almost everything, instead of production in our country. They blame the youth of being lazy after all effort Nigerian youths has put together in making Nigeria stand out as one of the best in the world in terms of music, dancing, sports, engineering, Nollywood, content creation, and many more skill they have exhibited to promote the name of the country, but yet the politicians never see good things the youth have done. If the youth stop there activeness on different things they do in and outside Nigeria that makes more people to know about Nigeria, I believe by now Nigeria may have sinck to the ground. but the politicians have deprive the youth of their right. They said the youth are the leaders of tomorrow, but the tomorrow was just parable, because tomorrow never end. But I believe the youth can only take it lost glory by force if only we have one mind.

It's good to be in power but let it be on creating making policies and good governance that will impact positively to the life of the citizen.
what do you expect from politicians? To applaud there opposing political party for a job well done and give them a chance at the pole? Nah!

That's one of the major issue with our leaders. They are just after themselves and how to come back winning in the next election and would spend the whole four years of thier administration trying to spoil whatever effort their predicasor hard made  just to gain public sympathy. What's the big deal to stick to what you wrote out in your manifesto? You've got four good years to make your whole point that will speak for you if you have any reason to run back for the same office but all you are after is talking thrash about the previous leaders and end up doing nothing reasonable throughout your tenure.

There Shame de shame me sometimes.

Yes, we should not be surprised or complain. Everyone, in one way or another, has contributed to the bad economy. If those who are complaining about the hardship are given the same governmental or presidential positions, they would do the same thing or do worse. The only solution to all that is happening is self-solution.

I was surprised yesterday that i went to buy groundnuts that i would use to compliment the banana i bought. The old woman sold little or me for 300 naira. I complained, and she was like things are hard and dollars have increased. I wondered what a granny of 65 to 70 years old knows about the dollar increment and how it affects the price of the local groundnut we plant in our country.

The blame game will always be when election produce manipulated candidates. The people sabi who go fit do the job at a particular time but when they vote the vote will disappear or court go begin speak from another mouth. When person wey lead the government is incompetent then nothing can be achieved for dat duration if not another election.

The Nigerian system never get the government wey go dey serious to take dem out of Egypt. Right now there is the allegation of project padding although it is not new anymore for Nigeria legislative house but at this time wey every where dey bleed? What about using the money to increase minimum wage but no, they will push it to their pocket through constituency projects. There complain is because dey don't know the right button to price so dey will just keep complaining while money for projects keep getting into pockets.

Op na true you dey yan our leaders is just always look for loop hole and excuse, will all good in sorting problem without solutions.

Just like what is currently happening to this current government blame has started already were the CBN governor has been acuse if the course of the economy breakdown for printing more money, and leaving many issue like production.

The kind of policy and laws our leaders put in place can't give good results when I hard if the recent issue in the Senate when a senator is suspended for budget padding if 3.7trillion I realized nothing good one should expect from this government and our leaders.

What baffled me is how they are confused they raise policies today tomorrow they change example student loan councled, niger boards opened etc all of this will still end in blaming past government.

I don't know why this blame game is rampage among Governors and Presidents. When they have not enter the sit, they would say all sorts of things against the incumbent leadership and say when they will come to the corridor of power they will change everything to favor the citizens and the foolish citizens like us would also believe those nonsense promises and voted for them to win the election and after everything they would say they are repairing the country from the previous government because the previous government has spoiled the country. But you know before you come in so you don't have to blame anyone but to do the right thing.

And this blame game would be there till the new government would leave office and another one again the same thing. When they have seen the bad from the previous government then come and do the right thing and not to blame anyone else again.

It's a shame that APC that return to the government will..want to deny that they don't know what has been going on in the system and after manipulating everyone, they rush to occupy the sit and then become incompetent and later blame the previous government for wasting our reserves. If they actually wasted our resources, why not probe them and bring them to law for accountability and how money were spent? They wouldn't do that because all of them are liars and same geng in corruption.

Did you see what was going on in the house of senate yesterday? How some senate got 500m privately and some other senate never had the same allocation and they off the mic so that the public don't know what's behind those money. It's sad to say that APC, PDP, LP and other people that got into senate are all the same group of people that were never ready for change of this country.

Naira not dollars, N500 million naira.

... and some other senate never had the same allocation and they off the mic so that the public don't know what's behind those money.
The money was allegedly given to only senators they called "ranking senator" because of how long they have been in office. There rae almost 34 ranking senators, so that is

34 X 500,000,000 = ??

source

It's sad to say that APC, PDP, LP and other people that got into senate are all the same group of people that were never ready for change of this country.
It was still one of the senators that senator Abdul Ningi (PDP, Bauchi Central) that turned attention to this. So not all politicians are corrupt, there are still a few of them with conscience, but they are very few and under heavy pressure.

This is the kind of politicians we have, the truth is that if they have any agenda or plans they won't be complaining instead they will just do work that is expected for them to do. It won't be a surprise to me if this government complain throughout this 8 years without any achievement.  I don't really know what is the problem of our leaders,  the money is their for them to carry out good projects but they don't care, they are only in power to make themselves rich more.

That has been the normal behavior of most of our present Nigerian presidents, if you know that you don't have anything to offer in respect to governance, what's the need of seeking for election in the position of trust, the past government blamed the previous president to the extent that the then minister of transportation in that administration came out to say it openly that it is time for them to stop blaming anyone and face what they are voted for, it is now obvious to people that this government don't have plan of delivering campaign promises to the people, what we have in Nigeria is social media promises and lies everywhere, sometimes I think that there is something really wrong with Black African leaders in general.

When individuals aim to be leaders, and they do attain the position, they sometimes are overwhelmed with the duties and prerequisite necessary to lead.
The government always blame the previous administration when the citizens speak up about the hardship. The worst is them going after businesses who have managed to thrive, to demand tax in order to solve the country problems.

If leaders were to do more in creating policies that would benefit the citizens in these times and blame the previous government for their failures, it would be more meaningful at least everyone would see clearly where they failed and work to make the nation become better.
It's just funny how leadership in this country has so far not been given to the person who is most competent and with a proven track record, instead, it is another way around.
It is left for individuals to believe in themselves and do the needful to be free and prosperous without a thought for blaming any past or present leaders.

I believe it is achievable, but it will require a lot of effort. It will take an intentional endeavor from the public to expect more from their leaders. It will require the press to hold leaders answerable for their acts, as well as a proactive and engaged participation of the general public. Leaders must have the strength needed to challenge what is current and do activities radically. And it will take perseverance and endurance because it will not happen immediately. It is disappointing to see a great deal of opportunity squandered due to a lack of leadership. So we should search for leaders who are more concerned with issue resolution than with politics.
