I was juts scrolling through Binance new and I saw an airdrop from Pepe coin worth over 1 million dollar and I clicked on it to see how I can participate in this amazing airdrop as I read through i saw that this airdrop to participate in it I needed to send them a tip and I was wondering if Binance now promotes scam or if this is ledgit, does anyone have experience with this or should i bail.
Are you trying to say that to qualify for the airdrop, you need to give a tip? It seems like this isn't a legitimate airdrop because they're asking for money. In a genuine airdrop, you typically just need to complete a task to promote their project, and in return, they'll give you the airdrop. If what you're saying is true, it's better to just avoid or ignore the airdrop because it's likely not legitimate. Binance is known as a respected and trusted exchange by many, so it's possible that scammers are copying the binance website, and the website you opened is likely a phishing site.
First make sure the Binance site uses SSL and states that it has a valid site certificate.
because many phishing sites are found which are exact copies of the main website. Moreover, Binance is the largest crypto market in the world. So it is very possible that many fraudsters use this method to deceive their victims.

For me, I feel it's not genuine or legit though most airdrop usually ask
or request for some small small things but I can't actually tell for sure that it's not legit rather, that's what I feel. If what they are asking is not compulsory you can skip it, like I said earlier there are small small thing they use to ask of, check those small small things and fill up but if you think they can't scam you with the tip no issues too.

It’s a scam. That’s how I have programmed my mind. If something looks too good to be true, I see it as 99% scam. The remaining 1% is benefit of doubt. Are you sure you did not see this on Binance Square? Because that’s where people make post of whatever they wish. If you saw an announcement by Binance themselves then it’s definitely 100% legit.

Honestly, I have never participated in this kind of exchange airdrop. but if you are in doubt you don't need to participate in it, and if you think this is a scam you don't need to participate in it. Moreover, why do you say this is a scam? Is it because the prizes given are meme coins or because of the conditions for participating in the airdrop?

Probably you've seen this on a post that's below the home page of the app. I mean if you scroll down further more, you will see some posts coming from different people. It's like Facebook where you can make a post there but now it's being done inside an exchange.

As for the "airdrop" that you saw, I'm thinking that it's a scam that you can easily avoid with. I mean why will you give money to somebody that you isn't sure if they will really airdrop the tokens. As for Binance tolerating this, they aren't promoting it because they can't control what others are doing... or they can since it's their exchange. Whatever the reason is, scammers will do everything to attract newbie investors. Just avoid this OP.

One thing more is that, it isn't amazing at all especially if you will give a "TIP" to them. Cheesy

I didn't found the news article you mentioned and it have been a month so that could have been buried under posts but in general, what we must understand is Binance news articles are created by normal users like you and me and that has nothing to do with Binance. You can compare it with this forum. There could be too much scam attempts, there are some degree of moderation but it could take time or totally be missed by moderators. Everything you view should be taken in consideration and researched by yourself. Something too good to be true are generally not.

Indeed, if you feel that way then better not to participate first of all if you don't trust whoever offers it then you are just
wasting your time and your efforts in case you join on it.

Plus, if you think it's just a scam then you are only risking yourself, better to stay away and not to participate.

Just curious if what's the reason why he thinks it's only a scam, what's the basis of his claim?

Actually airdrop is one of the best and easiest way to get free tokens but let's discuss how the value of those tokens will be. There are hundreds of tokens sitting in my wallet that i got from airdrops but no value waiting to be sold. However currently there are different forms of airdrops where you can complete a lot of tasks and get paid 1-2$. Moreover most of the airdrops seen from social media are fake and a difficult step for scamming.

You need to be extra careful since airdrops are really showing from side to side and it's difficult to determine whether the project
will give some decent amount or it will be just a waste for you.

No one really can conclude since there are some who manage to make money by just doing this kind of offer and be lucky to
take part with those who really sharing some decent amount.

Though there are some and there are lots who will just try to scam you and chance to hack your wallet better to review
all the possible resources before continuing.

I don't know of any such airdrop promotion but if you could share that link it would be worth learning. As far as I know there is no such scam being promoted in Binance but it is not promoted by Binance or someone else got the news if there is any source there would be a good solution to this issue. But for those who regularly participate in airdrops, airdrops carry deadly risks. As much as possible one should not join airdrops without a legit project. Currently there are a large number of airdrops coming and taking all of the customer's money through fraud. Keeping yourself safe requires having a good sense of what is legit and what is not.
