After a thorough technical review, the Linux Foundation's Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) voted to elevate Waterfall from Labs to Incubation. This milestone was earned through a rigorous evaluation process.

Documentation update.

Several sections that were previously marked Coming Soon are now available:

This update also aligns terminology with v0.4.0, refreshes performance and staking information, adds research references, and improves link previews for shared documentation.

Mainnet Snapshot Update

The Waterfall Mainnet snapshot is now 5× smaller.

The current chain state requires over 300 GiB, while the new snapshot is approximately 70 GiB. This significantly reduces the disk space required to download the snapshot and initialize a node from it.

Before replacing your node data, make sure your validator keys are backed up.

🔧 Waterfall Explorer: Code Refactoring Complete

We’ve completed a major refactoring of the Waterfall Explorer codebase.

This work focused on improving the Explorer’s internal code structure, maintainability, and foundation for future development.

Importantly, this was not related to node performance or stability — Waterfall nodes are operating properly.

The refactoring gives us a cleaner and more maintainable Explorer codebase, making it easier to build, test, and introduce future improvements.
