Author Topic: CEX.IO refuses withdrawals  (Read 127 times)

Hi!

I was writing to CEX.IO about this but haven't heard anything for over 7 days now: I can't make any withdrawals.
My account is fully verified and I have been using CEX for years, still, for every withdrawal I start, status is pending ("Transaction is being processed") for some time and then after some time, sometimes days failed ("(100%) Transaction failed. Funds returned...."). There is no additional information provided.

I have tried multiple connected bank accounts and eth wallets (some that were used to transfer money to CEX before) and nothing seems to be working.

My account is fully verified and I have tried to find anything else that might be an issue with the account but all seems to be in order. Is there anything that can be done here?

Not sure what else you can do except keeping in touch with their customer service and follow any instructions from them. It seems you are trying to get some support from the bitcointalk community and in that case the topic is not in the right place and right format.

Move the topic to the Scam accusations board. Follow the format suggested here. You may find someone who can help you but I would not expect you to have a high hope. It's a forum after all.

Sorry that you are having bad time and I hope the amount is not a high number.

The exchange has been having some complaints pooping up lately, which was something rare in the past. I am not sure if it's because of the bull run or just change of some policies, but things are not looking good as they also block user funds and ask for KYC. They use funds as a ransom to request for KYC verification while in other cases the withdrawals are not processes with the support not helping to expedite the issue.

Move the topic to the Scam accusations board. Follow the format suggested here. You may find someone who can help you but I would not expect you to have a high hope. It's a forum after all.
This seems to be the best thing OP can do right now to get CEX's official representative attention.
I read both threads that logfiles shared and I can see that CEX (official representative) posted on both of them and he was last active just two days ago. You can also try PMing him.

@OP,  are you from Russia or Belarus by any chance? Am asking because according to one of CEX's replies he said that deposits and withdrawals have been suspended for customers from these two countries.

I've also encountered similar complaints outside of this forum for the past days. Over Reddit, there are also complaints of not being able to withdraw funds and the lack of immediate response from their support.

Just like here, CEX.io's official representative there also replies, but the answers given, just like here, don't seem to be assuring. They mentioned about the recent surge in the market and how it affects their response time as inquiries have also risen in volume.

I guess you just have to reach out to them through all of their official channels and wait for the reply. I guess there's not much you can do here. Also, avoid spamming them. It won't help.

If things dont work out and you feel you have not wronged from your side, that is used tainted funds to trade on your account and any other shady actions, make a thread in the "Scam Accusations" section of the forum and provide some evidence from your side to substantiate your claims.

Other than that you just have to wait for their official representative to respond. Sorry for your loss whatever the amount may be.

Wait for them to respond because I've seen them reply to threads like this if it's concerning their service. But I do hope that you get the response that you'd be happy with and they'd be able to check out your account and allow that transaction to push through if ever you don't really have problems with your account. Right now, it's just best to wait and surely their representative are going to put some comments here and what's the status of your account and withdrawal and possibly explain why it had happened.

Most issue on their platform with this two is KYC verification, even though both claimed they already did, with the changing of terms overtime some accounts are affected. The one thread that posted last month hasn't any updates yet from OP.

Seriously though, i never thought of using CEX in the first place when there's Binance, Kucoin, OKX, etc. who has more trading volume, reputed compare to CEX now.

Update: After contacting CEX on reddit - this was resolved for me. It took some time and my situation may be different as I reside in 2 countries, one of which is where CEX doesn't provide services. I hope other having issues will be able to resolve them as well

You might want to start looking for other popular, trustworthy alternatives early enough to avoid future disappointments. In my case I have about 4 exchanges I use just in case one of them decides to act cocky (and they do sometimes)
I also don't leave my funds in exchange if I am not going to trade for a long time

Otherwise, I am glad your issue got resolved, though it was a painful experience.
