I do t really understand what you mean by influencing the masses but all I understand is that many new projects aare to being hyped that is why we keep seeing fast adoption making the project to keep having large numbers of investors buying and holding the projects.
We can make money by investing in altcoins but it is also wise for us to always do research before we ever decide to buy and accumulate any altcoins in the market.

there are projects that actually contributes a lot outside crypto world, im talking about project like RNDR, STORJ and so on where it can be utilized by average joe to bypass the usual services like GPU computing from big companies that usually charges more or google drive.
I think if we are seeing from utility they indeed have place in the market so its not like things can't thrive without speculation but frankly speaking the companies nowadays when they went to public are also trying to play with their stocks much like cryptocurrency there's a lot speculation going on in the stocks market much like crypto and its project. sometime the development of the project itself stands independent from the price of the coin.
what matter is utilization these days, speculation is not a must for majority of coin but it did indeed helps a lot in increasing the worth of the project.

While I agree that Bitcoin and Ethereum are force driving behind crypto adoption, I don't understand why you would consider BNB doing the same. Unfortunately, BNB is only restricted as a fuel to drive the Binance exchange other than that it is nowhere used. Speculating happens in stock markets too and it happens in crypto markets in the same manner. Speculation and the community are what drive the price of a stock and a crypto. They go hand in hand; without them, the markets won't last long.

It's good to know, thanks for telling @Reatim because sometimes I wonders how a coin projects adoptions or existence awareness could enlarge without being speculated since Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies doesn't need to be advertised on the radios, TV nor even by the medias.
It's nice to understand that speculations is to call on peoples attentions and knowing their opinions towards a launched or an existing Crypto coin. Basically that could be a base where the coin could accumulate its potentials. So in here sentiments and the hypes of coins lies on speculations?

Speculations has no strong impact on what will be the price of bitcoin. I think the miners traders and investors has more influencers on the price of bitcoin. Only altcoins that are being influenced by owners, developers, social media influencers and so on. But also remember that it is only some altcoins that are manipulated this. Coins like BNB and other exchange coins are mostly influenced by adoption and usage.

The media samples you listed are the ones relevant like a decade or two ago really. Social media is the most influential media, or well at least compared to TV's or radios lol. And yes, speculations are a part of what makes a coin go up or down but it's not the be-all-end-all of things. It's usually the one that could push the price up temporarily since it's like an advance notice (one that has no guarantee btw) of what the stock/investment that you have is going to do or action they're going to take. Well, the earlier you react the better so it's no surprise why speculations play a part.

Well after all that speculation and whatnot if no value was presented at the end of the day the value of the investment would simply drop. Just look at meme coins if you want examples. The price bursts they have are mostly fueled by price speculations most (if not all) of the time.

Honestly it is in human’s nature to basically gossip and share useful information to other people. It is actually one of the things that made humans a distinct specie than its counterparts. I believe that being an investor constitutes being part of a community where you talk to different people regarding different coins.

It has manifested itself even now in modern times in terms of trends and hypes. If one person uses it, a mass of people follow and so on. I believe that the market moves due to the constant change of demand. People find things that are already in demand more worthy than others. If others like it then there must be a reason, right?

But not all investors think that way. They just don’t follow what others say or think of a specific coin. A wise investor would check and make his own research. Not all coins that are speculated to do well does well.

The nature of this speculation is a product of the decentralized market, where there is limited supply and increasing demand, so the value is increasing, and even when Bitcoin declines severely by more than 50%, there is still betting on it. On the other hand, if most altcoins decrease below 50%, I assume that everyone will start selling and that will be the end of most altcoins.

it is true that the volatility and high price is what creates demand for Bitcoin, but even if the price of Bitcoin is low, it will have value, as some may use it because of its decentralized nature and its advantages over traditional systems.

Well they will die without much speculations or hype around it. Sometimes the project only survive due to that but id theres a certain use case then they maybe can affor to stay alive and thrive another bear if ever. There are plenty of projects that can do that and you can also try to make a review on that. Not sure if its worth buying them now or have they launch already or not. But when arrived bear season arrive make sure you picked the right one cause definitely some of these coins will die.

The major answer to that question bis what we call coin hype by influencers. Most times we fine so many social media influencers over hyping a coin but the truth is that those coins in which they hype are not in any way close to what they are saying. And due to their influence and reputation most of their followers start adopting the coin. Oftentimes those coin can be very profitable while in most cases they are just shitcoins. Aside that, if a whale uses their influence to adopt a coin, of cause that will bring about a global adoption as coins like that tends to experience a rapid pump in price.

Speculation is always part of investment since every project starts from scratch before they have a working blockchain. This is not limited only to crypto but also to stock market and other investments.

Without speculation, no one will buy on the assets since there’s money entering the project to fund it. This is same with altcoins, they will just die in long run if no one speculates on it that it will grow since startup project need initial fundings to survive until they have a working product that will generate profit.

I think speculation is only a small part of the crypto world.  It's didn't have much influence.  Do you think investors will invest millions of dollars just because of their speculation?  No, they have the data, analysis and look potential.  For Altcoins that don't have potential, maybe they will remain untouched and slowly fade away.  Maybe you can do some hype to increase it, but it will definitely fall back in the not too distant future.  Indeed, to increase the value of coins, community support is needed.  But without its potential and usefulness for society, of course it won't be interesting, right?

I know there's all the security and real ownership happening with bitcoin and likes but other than speculation, they create no value outside crypto market. There had been tries of associating the value with business but most of them are failures.
There had been sporadic success in gaming but again gaming is another virtual business with no value except the entertainment.
I don't mean to say crypto is bad but the rise of thousands of tokens just due to speculation that more people would keep buying might not be a sustaining economic model for long term.

Even if you want to convince yourself that they do none, just think of the fact that you can exchange goods and services with cryptos and the deal goes through without banks. Think of cryptos as payment option if nothing else makes sense to you on it.

Entertainment is a big influence on man and we can't rule that out. Cryptos coming in to address that is a big plus.

Speculating has a major role to play in all markets but it doesn’t mean the markets depends fully on speculations for things to work in the market. Many of the new altcoins that are coming across can also pass through the same process as all other cryptocurrencies that have made it big in the market like the aforementioned above. Speculation is just a part of price determinant, just like demand and supply are also playing their roles on the price of cryptocurrencies, so it the speculations that come to either move the market uptrend and make the price goes up or vice versa.

Don't you know that if everything in the crypto is pure speculation? The real example about how a meme token which has no product, utility or everything offered to the holders or users pumped so high like that. Crypto is pure speculation. This is crypto when non valued project being valued very high. I think that only blockchain projects and bitcoin are not speculation coins since they were also offering utility and benefit for the users. Like ETH with its staking that generated from the fees received by the network. Meme coin has nothing to offer but it's having more than 1 billion marketcap. People very like of speculations caused by this is the easiest way to generate good chunks of money.
Keep in your mind that if crypto will always be like that. There will always be speculations in the cryptucurrency. Only a few projects survive caused by their product and it's not based on the speculation by the speculators in the market.

Some altcoins being adopted caused by their products but look at doge coin. How long is it exist in the market? it's also almost 1 decade or even more but it's still survive now. It proves that if even meme coin can survive  through speculation and this is how crypto market works.
The wild market like this will also able to keep even the shit scam token to still alive even if it has very small volume. That's why many people are playing in this game to get instant money. People are so simple as they are looking for how to create money as soon as possible
