~~~When did you first heard about bitcoin 2024 Halving edition~~

So we have around 1 month left for the 4th halving. Thought of creating a topic to gauge the bitcoin fever!
I first found out about BTC back in Q1 2011. I think i seriously got into it in May 2011. Dl'ed the core software on sep 30 2011.(blockchain size was around ~600mb). Got free BTC via bitcoin faucet 0.05.  Started mining in 2012 via bitminter(geforce 525m getting 12mhps). HDD crashed and i forgot until 2022 when i started serious devotion

Yeah Yeah i missed the bus even if it was in front of me. Had i lived in a country where Mt Gox supported my currency, it would have been another story.

This comment is from the broadband.forum website that the OP referenced and it got my attention. I guess most people had the same view concerning Bitcoin. Many of them will be licking their wounds because the currency they called a thrash is now more valuable than all the currencies of nations. It has equally made not just millionaires but billionaires.

This is also going to be my first halving experience and I am also highly expectant. It looks like the approval of Spot ETF by the SEC has made this halving a unique one with price predicted to go very high. I have read a lot about the halving but it seems there are slight variations in this present halving maybe because of the ETF.

I'm sure that your country has some form of dollar exchange if you couldn't find a way to buy bitcoin because there's no way that if it's a foreign currency at that time that Mt. Gox is going to get paid in that currency besides the dollar or other popular currency at that time, another thing is that if you've got Mt. Gox at that time then you'd probably be one of the suckers that would've had their bitcoins stolen. I think that you did just fine with your mining in 2012 but it feels bad to see what happened to that HDD and it's not really your fault that you've become serious about bitcoin in 2022, back then it's worthless or close to worthless and a lot of people aren't taking bitcoin seriously. I've heard bitcoin the same as the year that I've created this account or maybe a bit of a month earlier.

2016. But even then I didn't get the panic people were buying into. So new coins aren't going to be as plentiful. But when will it be small enough in supply that lil' ol' me won't be able to find 1 mbtc when I need it?

I guarantee it'll be as easy for me to go out and buy 1 BTC after April, or next year, or in 2030, as it will be today. I'll never run into a "sold out" trader.

2015 I already know about Bitcoin from social media on the internet, but I'm not sure about it. seeing the development of Bitcoin in the crypto market, it is starting to be widely discussed by those who are influential in my area and some of those I know have shown real results for me.

So, in 2017 I entered and studied more deeply, at that time Bitcoin was heading for its umpteenth halving, I saw extraordinary results for Bitcoin and finally I became a part of Bitcoin until now, I felt the halving in 2021 yesterday, 2024 is facing the umpteenth halving, I hope I don't fail again like what happened in 2017 when I first got to know it.

That's a fun video, but i don't like the part where it say "Bitcoin transactions are free", we know how crazy the transaction fees can be, and we all have paid for each transaction.

Getting back into the topic, i read about Bitcoin in 2013, and i fell in love from the start, that same day i got some btc in a casino that had a nice chat lotto, you only had to be active in the chat and from time to time it used to ask for the user address to send a "rain"... the bitcoin price was lot at that moment, something like $300/btc. Those were crazy times.

I'm the only one who voted for "2017" because that's the time where I started learning about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. September 2017 to be exact, and I guess it's a good thing that this forum has been introduced to me when I'm still learning because I learned many things here NGL.

Ohhh, I miss the times where I'm clicking those captchas back in 2017 and getting something like 100-1000 Satoshis if I remember correctly. I mean that amount every 5-15 minutes, and I'm doing it with multiple faucet sites. I'm asking myself "What if I withdrew those coins that I got from faucet sites and held it until now?" That's the biggest what if in my mind when it comes to faucet, but I really miss doing those captcha thing.

Sadly, the videos only got 50k views, and probably it's because YouTube in 2010 isn't as popular as it is right now, and when it became popular, that's not the video that they're watching, but these crypto influencers who are shilling new projects endlessly. I hate to say it but the platform has become a tool to spread misinformation.

2014 but bought my first coins a year later. I was early enough for it to make a significantly positive impact on my life but not too early so it was cents per coin. Those uber early people, some of them have hardly anything, if any coins left. We are still early enough for new investors to do very well if they buy & HODL for years.

I used to look for ways to earn money online those days, and one of the days when I was surfing different websites through a Google search, I stumbled upon a Bitcoin faucet that was giving away satoshis for free every day, I was shocked to see that there is a currency that has a very high value, it was valued less than $500 at that time, I don't remember the exact price though.

The Bitcoin halving would still cause so many coins to spike up this is not a guarantee that those coins would be successful. The Bitcoin halving would cause many to move into crypto-currency even if they do not Believe in crypto. Everyone would be looking for fast gains. Me too, bro. I also miss the time when I was clicking on the faucet captchas site to get some of Bitcoin Satoshi And I used to visit these faucet sites daily and spend hours clicking and earn a good profit from them. I used to use freeBitco.com for Bitcoin, which I think gave 800 to 1500 satoshi at the time. I wish if I had all those coins, I would have earned more profit. But anyway, it was my starting point, so I lost a lot and found a lot, and at the same time, I collected knowledge and gained more experience, which today proves my 90% decision was right. 
 
However, my journey also started with faucet sites and after that I started trading by using the same collection of faucet sites which was the first and hardest step of my life. But I was consistent, and finally I earned millions of dollars in my journey through crypto.

You're right, lovesmayfamilis - we had different paths to bitcoin. I may not really want to remember how I got here and became one of the bitcoin holders - but I cherish all my time with bitcoin after I invested in it. Of course this is the best thing I have come across from many investment assets – I mean bitcoin is more than just an investment asset.

I don't regret anything I've been through before - it wouldn't do any good if I didn't rush when I got to know him. Being a holder is something special for me even though the amount of assets I own may not make me a millionaire by the halving period in 2024. So yes - there is still room for improvement as long as we are willing to improve it.

Op nice work and the explanation nod bitcoin from the YouTube video is good for everyone and children can be using it or learning bitcoin since it is cartoon. And as for me I started noticing the concept and the Blockchain from 2015 in a seminar but as for then I hadn't heard anything about halving and even I heard of it I wouldn't know or understand anything. And until I came to the forum in 2021 and in 2022 I started hearing the edition of bitcoin halving and also the All Time High as well. And this coming halving will be the first one I will see and experience.

After the halving then we all will be expecting the All Time High.
