In fact I'm always restless whenever there is elections in my country. The final results are different from what the electorate decided at the various polling units. Elections are features of democracy which enhance representative government in the modern society.
But recent developments have shown how elections litigations have made the elections Tribunals and Superior Courts of Records to determine the elections results and the Winner of the contestations. The trial Judges are less than five by law.
Therefore, on the basis of this eventuality, elections outcomes have now become a contest between the electorate and the judges. So, is it still democracy or Oligarchy in the first place?
I would really want the public in this forum to provide a final digest of this serious matter. Thanks.

Why should you be restless when what bothers you is something of less concern to the people involved in politics, we have to know the way we behave and never allow what should be of less concern to us take over us and cost us, at the end of it all, no one will be responsible for you than yourself, life continues despite all you might have been through, be careful on how you think or behave in life.

Oligarchy is the government of few people or government that is organized by few people and so if few people determine who is elected by manipulating the system to force in a person that the people didn't vote for and then take over the judges then it is as you called it, oligarchy.

Therefore, on the basis of this eventuality, elections outcomes have now become a contest between the electorate and the judges. So, is it still democracy or Oligarchy in the first place?
I would really want the public in this forum to provide a final digest of this serious matter. Thanks.

@Gozie51 has given brief summary of both oligarchy and democracy. However, as long as there is room for election, doesn't matter whether it is being compromise or not, it is still democracy. Oligarchy concentrate power in the hand of few powerful individuals or elites and gives no room for election. Democracy is not perfect but it is fair compared to other forms. The judges do not just impose any of the contestants but decide based on the facts and evidences presented before them. Sometimes, we look at things from our own angle the way we want it to be and not from the angle that is justifiable. At a point in time, we feel the election is manipulate because the candidate we support lost the election but we failed to realize that there's balance of vote and each candidate has their stronghold that tends to overpower one another.

The painful thing with this thing called representative government is no one is representing anyone in reality but rather representing and protecting their individual interests against what is supposed to be.

Exactly what we have here is your real definition of oligarchy, I see oligarchy more better even what we are in now as government but kakistocracy where the worst give power to govern and leads, and one thing is certain when the blind is leading the blind you know the results better then me, the country can't be better until this pertarn of leadership is changed and real democracy emerge.

I don't like to engage much on our country discussion because is very painful.

Electoral fraud and manipulation are severe issues that compromise the credibility of elections and contribute to political unrest and distrust. In addition I believe that voter knowledge and understanding is the most important topic to keep in mind. People must be well-informed on the topics at risk in voting, as well as appreciate the value of their vote and its role in developing their country's destiny. The number of voters is frequently low, particularly among young people, which can lead to outcomes that fail to reflect the genuine will of the people. Increased voter participation through dissemination of knowledge can assist ensure that elections are really indicative of the people's wishes.

Anyone can be the leader is one of the often used arguments for Demo crazy people. Unter the microscope it looks like this:
Democracy is when two school dropouts with two thirts majority tell the professor what he needs to do.

Democracy is suppose to be the government organized by the people through their voting, voices being heard and the government account for the people but anything different from that is short of democracy.

You know. The problem with western democracy is how much it seems to be turning into an illusion rather than the people actually governing their future through the power of their vote. It is something I have heard from people who have lived in the United States before.
Within the practice, in a democratic country like the United States, any party or political government is supposed to have a chance to present their case and their project for the country to the population, so they (the people) can choose what is the best option for them.

What happens in reality is that there is a duopoly of the communication and media which is closely related to the Republican party or the Democrat party, they talk about each other and ignore other parties on purpose. So it gives me the sensation democracy in the USA and other similar countries is not an actual democracy, but some sort of façade placed by the powerful and wealthy to manipulate the vote of the people.

Right now the democrat party is urging their electorate to Vote for Joe Biden to stop Trump, while the Republican party is quite doing the opposite. In the main cable news and media you will never see anything related to third parties, regardless whether they are from the left or the right.

I believe that electoral fraud is more pronounced in developing countries, where a few individuals will determine who comes to power, they'll choose who will suit their unpatriotic agendas, and the country will go into election in the name of democracy. I believe that unless these evil cabals are flushed out and the best candidates that the people wants are elected into leadership of affected countries, then we'll never see true democracy.

Developed countries like the USA and england are role models and upholders of democracy, whom developing countries should look up to and learn how democracy is practiced, but I was really saddened during the last US presidential election, when Donald trump, alleged that the US election was rigged. Being an African, I thought that countries like the US has gone past that stage of alleging electoral malpractices, it was a very big blow for me, because I thought that if a big democracy like the US will still be talking of election rigging, then what do we expect from emerging democracies.

In a lawful society, the voice of the people counts by votes of decided persons to serve and lead them in governance while in a lawless or oppressive society where the masses rights are being manipulated, then abruptly their voices are ignored, they don't have influenced in the society and their votes during an election is being compromised and trashed.
So instead of votes counts during an election in such a lawless country, they autonomous and the strong hold political alley sits by and make their selections while ignoring the votes in an election.
All just so oligarchy government.

In truth, they're not practising democracy. They exploit the loopholes of the structure and system and enrich themselves with it. Simply making a state a democracy won't work, there has to be a working system that should be followed. When there is a system, a trusted system, it would be difficult for a section of people to exploit the democracy.

Why should you be restless when what bothers you is something of less concern to the people involved in politics, we have to know the way we behave and never allow what should be of less concern to us take over us and cost us,

It should bother him because whatever they do directly or indirectly affects him. No matter how hard he acts like it doesn't concern him, those decisions concern him. If a wrong person is put in power, the decisions he makes affects him.

Its better for you to do your own part and leave the rest, what goes around will surely come around.

In reality, what goes around doesn't always come around. A lot of people get a way with a lot of evil stuff.

Democracy is a fragile thing. It's not a perfect system and it also is easily manipulated. Oligarchy comes with the coat of democracy.
Most of the time, the change of the head of state won't have any effect on the oligarch that actually rules the country as these rich people has so much influence that the president/pm won't want to mess with them. Some believe they are what holding the nations and in absence of them, the economy would collapse and the nation would disintegrate.
Oligarchy exist in almost all of democracy. There are certain group of people every politician wants to get favor from. Some politician do indeed tame and create new oligarch in their favor and such politician stays in power for longer. Like Putin and Modi.

It's frustrating when election results don't reflect the will of the people and instead a handful of judges seem to hold all the power. This raises serious doubts about whether our democracy is truly working as it should or if it's becoming more like an oligarchy. We need to have open conversations about these issues and find ways to ensure that elections genuinely represent the voices of the electorate. Research is necessary over fake news. Otherwise, we risk undermining the very foundation of democracy

In my country I have never witnessed or experience the dividends of democracy but yet we are known as a democratic country. I have long prayed that democracy should seize while military should take over the relationship of my country. But it has never happened till now, even at now I am doubtful that even the military is also corrupt. Apart from the narration of the Op where the few judges determine who rules the country. When a certain corrupt politician is elected into power, he then uses the country's resources to enrich himself and his generation and prepare them to succeed him. This happens that a very small group who eventually are cultists in a particular political party rules and handover the government to themselves also.

oligarchy is when the minority win the majority by using government power to do the election or use other spiritual power to achieve some position and, there is no way the majority in the land will be happy about the outcome of the results and they can go ahead and make the government ungovernable.

Any government that pass through this process to elect their leaders in a democracy way, always make difference from other government that didn't follow the same way to elected their lead because, once you allow the votes of people count in a  particular election, it will make the government to always do the right thing that will make people to vote for such government again.

Democracy might not be the perfect way of choosing leaders sometimes because of how elections can be manipulated,  but I still prefer democracy than any other form of getting power. Atleast in the democracy the common people have the privilege of speaking out when things are not okay because it is their right. Bit their are some system of government citizens don't even have any say , they are been treated as slaves, but in democracy people have good freedom.

Thanks.
I wonder how it would go with the electoral process when there's a clear winner unless the losing party or candidate wants to contest and test the system and that's how it is going with the judges.

Each country has different government policies and rules about election. But if there's another board that has to step in, like on what you've said about the judges, I think it's only they'd come to judge and seek their counsel when there's a possible malfunction and there's a failure of elections.

We haven't achieved true democracy yet in my opinion so I'd still strive for democracy to be the ruling governmental system in all countries. In regards to the question of is it ever an oligarchy, I would say that it is but not in a sense that it's a blatant one, these corrupt politicians knew that if they ever blatantly show off their power with impunity to their people, they risk getting abdicated from that throne either by force or through other peaceful means so they don't show that way, they're also good at appealing to the dumb poor, they create the promises and hope that the poor people would not think twice about voting for them. As I've said, we haven't achieved democracy yet because if the candidates can influence the voters by making false promises, it's not really free will that they got voted on.

Stability and democracy are prerequisites for the development and prosperity of any country. If the parliamentary elections are free fair impartial and participatory then the elections are accepted domestically and internationally. It is a sad but true fact that any election held in our country under the ruling party government in the past has not been as free fair and impartial as desired and its acceptability has raised questions both domestically and internationally. Such a long term situation regarding elections is not auspicious for the country's development prosperity stability and the future of democracy.

It is an interesting issue that you raised here because the right word to describe this situation is really oligarchy as the will of the people are always contested in the court leading to sometimes removing the people's choice
This happens because of lack of trust in the electoral process that lead to the emergency of the winner
