If what OP is saying is true, many gambling companies wouldn't have returning customers but to some extent he his right. People tend to lose more in gambling than they make money from gambling and that's because it's either they don't understand how it works or their predictions is beyond lower line and because of greed they loss or the event is beyond what they imagined. There are somethings that are just beyond a gambler controls, you just had to accept the outcome the way it comes.
