Almost everyone posts the prediction without any discussion, so engagement is missing. I did try to engage once but no one else was interested. Not to mention that there are 3-4 IPL discussion threads and everyone wants to promote his/her thread. IMO it's not good at all for a small cricket community.

I'd suggest you take the initiative and start engaging with the community and you have to be active here, otherwise, it won't work. It's a long tournament so keep trying.

You are right that might be the reason that the mods again transferred this thread back to Games and Round. They must have looked into the activities on this thread and therefore ignored my request. As you said I will keep engagement alive in this thread. BTW, King Kohli, yesterday batted like a King all his boundaries were presence of mind. None of them were risky shorts like other batters have been doing in IPL.

In the match between RCB and PKBS, RCB won by 4 wickets. PKBS started slow, at one point, I thought, Dhawan was playing in an ODI match. His slow start helped RCB bowlers put pressure on the PKBS until the end. Cameos from the lower order were not enough to get them to a respectable target. PKBS were at least 30 runs short on this batting paradise. In response, RCB lost their top order cheaply, but Virat Kohli stood tall again and proved his worth. His 77 and a cameo from DK at the end helped RCB to clinch their first victory of the season.  RCB middle order should work hard to gain their form back.

As I am not predicting in the contest, whereas I see those who organize do predict. I would say it will be always be your understanding about the game. I have been seeing your prediction post and I think you are doing a good job.

The t-20 format is usually unpredictable. Once in a while upsets do happen but most of the time predicting a particular team winning becomes easy due to various reasons like toss, conditions and experienced playing XI. It won't reflect much on this prediction thread because we have to post our predictions before the toss (Saying toss because in some conditions toss could become important because of dew or slow behavior of pitch).   

Normally you look at the roaster and check what kind of players are in the playing XI (Form also matters) and these days it has become an important ritual because of the new rule "Impact player" and the majority of the time it depends on the toss and match situation as sometimes team brings Impact player too early and sometimes very late so this new rule adds a new dimension of unpredictability. 


Overall, intro of IPL teams.

Teams like MI and CSK are strong and most consistent teams in the IPL.

RCB always had the best players but they have a habit of choking against everyone. 16 freaking seasons and no trophy despite being represented by the Peak trio of Kohli-AB-Gayle.

SRH used to be good but they fucked up their team after Warner Saga (Dubai leg during Covid, i guess) and going down every season.

DC and KKR are excellent teams but not consistent enough, sometimes not even on their home turf.

GT and LSG are quite new but they have a pretty solid squad. Especially GT looks fine because they have Ashish Nehra. This guy's life is meme and full of fun but he's one of the finest cricketing brains in the cricketing world.

Punjab brings excellent talent and turns them into memes because of shitty management.
