Recently I've been reading about the tension and division that football can put amongst people making it look as tho they are part of a different community or even county, like when two famous clubs are playing, and members of the same family or friends would be against each other forgetting other bonds they once had and going all out to support their club or née family they belong to.

The point is why does football create such a tension and division that can even result to fight and dispute sometimes.

Most of the football teams are associated with a community. I don't know how teams around the world works now as they have became more profit eccentric an like companies with shareholders but for the most, the football clubs were managed by local communities and had quota of maximum this number of outsider can play from the team. That's why almost all football clubs are named after cities or town they are based on.
So, basically a local team consist of local players and were managed with local budget and donations. If you or anyone from your community loved football, their dream would be to play for their own team. It created the feeling of ownership in the people of the community.
And when the whole community think they are a part of the team, there are overwhelming emotions and consequences. I'm in no way in favor of fan violence but I know what they might be going through.

Even though we do have our different likings and interest into certain players or teams but it would really be that too much or exaggerated on which people would really be going into such extent.
Yes, even if they are just that siblings or relatives or simply against with your loved ones on which it turns out to be a huge kind of issues or arguments in between those players or teams you do like
on which it do even comes into a point that you would really be cutting off your relationship or whatever connections you do have on which i could say that it doesnt really make sense
or simply it doesnt really need to be that way.

Sounds impossible but there are really indeed people that would be having this kind of argumentations in between about their favorite team or player on which i could say that it is really just that absurd.
It would be always best on having that sportmanship at least not as a player but rather as a bettor. LOL!

Most people hate losing, when for example they are fans of team Z and have a friend who is a fan of team X and there is a game in which team Z will play against team watching the game, both people take the game very seriously because in their heads it has become a competition in which the winner gains points and the loser loses imaginary points, and it's as if in both of their minds they thought:" my team won, so I gave him I won, I'm bigger than my friend " let's look at what happens in the world cup games, if they put Argentina to play against Brazil, then they will have to put a lot of police on the field and the Argentine fans will have to be very far away from the Argentine fans brazil, this is because during the game they start fighting and after the game the team that loses becomes the target of jokes from the fans of the team that won

Last year, for example, when Argentina played against Brazil, there were people who left the field with injuries from aggression, because as I said, they take this dispute very seriously, starting on the field that Brazil's players forget the friendship they have with some Argentine players take the game very seriously and reach the level of being very close to fighting on the field, and the fans also carry a lot of hatred for each other, in football it has always been like that. This also happens in Brazil when there are league games, I myself have seen videos showing fans of one team going to attack fans of another team after the game, in Brazil team fans take it very seriously and even become violent towards the fans from other teams

here in my country, in my neighborhood there is an amateur football field, people organize themselves and play football, but when the games end, fights also start because the teams that lost did not accept defeat and do not accept that they are reasons for jokes. The funniest thing about this very sad story is that they are all friends before the game, but during the game and at the end of the game they start to hate each other. To this day, I still can't understand why they continue playing football on that field when at the end of the game they will be fighting us against others. It doesn't make sense to me

Supporters of a certain team or individuals will find a common ground which make them chose the side they support. You noticed it in football because you are probably where soccer is very popular. We are a Basketball crazy country and some fans are so fanatic that there's always tension whenever there's a championship match and fans and teams will engage to thrash talks and jeering that could result in fistfights.

I am not a big football fan so I don't understand it too.
But in basketball, we have seen fans who are taking the seriousness of cheering to a whole new level. The "Malice in the Palace" is the very best example of that. And I think most basketball fans do know about this, maybe even the non-fans due to how dark at what happened there.
I don't think it's just the football teams although they are kind of bigger when it comes to having fans because it is being played worldwide where countries are playing against each other. But, we forget that this should be a sport and the same goes for the fans, they should learn how to be a sport when it comes to cheering their preferred team.
Just recently, someone made a thread about 2 guys hurt (dead, I forgot) and robbed by the fans of the home team. This should not happen, they can argue, debate, or whatever but hands should be kept on their side. I guess I will only understand this once I become a hardcore fan but I doubt I will.

Football today in our society is like a religion that hardly you see a individual that is not a supporter of a football team, it necessarily must not be a well renowned team with a large fan base but just any football team be it a local or international teams.

Football in all essence promotes peace, charity and love among people of diverse culture coming together to cheer up a particular team they fancy or interested in, we saw all of that in the last concluded world cup where different countries citizens came together to wine and dine exchanging pleasantries, it's only football that can do that seamlessly.

Well, football will always have different impact on different people. I haven't experienced such fanatics that would take football and sportsmanship to such a level. Actually this is an issue about personality because there would really be no argumentation if all inside the family or circle of friends is something like that but we do know that not all would really be having on the same mindset or behavior on which there are ones who do have that kind of ego or having that kind of principle that they would really be making out that kind of argumentation on the things that they have chosen in compared to others.
This is where troubles or these kind of conflicts on the time that someone would really be trying out to fight on what they are really that trying to prove out not until they would be losing up their bet.

In case on something like this do happen then it would really be better that you should avoid on making some bets or having those kind of bonding with those kind of people on whose getting angry

According to the title of this thread, football creates groups or communities among its respective supporters.  Isn't this something commonplace, like in other sports communities or outside sports? that means, there is a group of people who share a favorite or passionate love for a club, team, etc. In essence, football is not a source of tension and division among supporters, communities, or anything related to violence. but what is clear, this is more up to each individual. Excessive love creates panatism towards a club that is idolized, favored and becomes the favorite team.

So, it wasn't football that created it as you assume. Football should eliminate differences and strengthen unity. not division, not even tension. Unfortunately, in social life this is a condition that often occurs. yeah, all of this comes from each individual. There are many reasons, it could be because the players or supporters went berserk. In fact, there are disputes between people closest to them because they have differences. Supposedly, awareness is the main thing.  Football is a fun, exciting sport and can be enjoyed by all groups. so, what you say in this thread is another part of football. however, not the real essence.

It has something to do with passion for the sport and a sense of pride that you belong to a team you adopted the team and made it part of your passion for the sport. You cannot be passionate about a sport without a team rooting for you.

Whatever team sport it is, there will always community or fans club that will support these teams, and the fans or the community are very loyal to them because it represents their passion and they have a sense of belonging to this team, which is why you see friends and even relatives having arguments on who is the best team.

But even if friends and families are rooting for different teams they should value friendship and family relationships more than their team, and just consider it as a friendly competition.
