I think that's the point of why they are problem gamblers. They cannot stop and fail to get out of addiction. What makes you say that "generally" gambling addiction happens to people who love money more than others? Is there any research on this? Certain factors might affect whether you will become addicted or not, including some drugs[1] but I've never heard of research that supports your idea. Other factors like age and environment also show up often when I search about gambling addiction[2]. Some even went as far as saying that financial problems are one of the key factors, but there is no way to quantify how much love for money affects that[3]. Indeed, many gamblers who have suffered huge losses but still persist with gambling are still doing it because they cannot control themselves as well as their own emotions.
