When it comes to this game, I always target the items with strings in it or something where the claw could insert his metals in it. I have played this a lot of times and I only got a single item. I don't consider it as being unlucky because the damn claws are really slippery. My kids on the other hand love playing this game so I let them play but only in prizes where there are rings in it. i.e. a ring of tickets or a ticket bracelet so that we can exchange it for other prizes at the counter.
Because I know for myself that even if I waste so much money on prizes where plushies are available, they won't be getting any and they will just end up getting frustrated when we go home. While if they are getting tickets, they will still be happy picking what prize they want in the prize booth. I don't see many people playing this game and I don't consider it as gambling, it's more like short-lived fun.

In my opinion yes, it is considered to be gambling since you are risking your money in order to win, but the only thing is it's going to be a different reward, it's not going to double your money something like that instead your getting stuff toy or some reward. But more like a scam   since I never actually win on a claw machine, I guess if you are a skilled claw machine player it might be a good bet but in my opinion, the chances of winning are very slim so might not be worth it because the quality of your reward wasn't really that great considering your paying a lot for such a cheap stuff toy.

I suppose that this is definitely a form of gambling considering the example of the cash in the machine- depending on how much money and time is spent there I would say it can surely lead to addictive gambling tendencies. If its just those little kiddie ones for plushies tho that cost a dollar I mean thats more of entertainment/gaming for children but in your example I think it can definitely be considered a niche category of gambling. I think it's both skill and luck. Because it will really take you skill to have a strategy to which part of the reward you are going to claw with in the machine. It's like going through that trial and repetition until you get that reward you are aiming for. It's also like  luck based because you need to be very lucky as to which machine are you going to play. Because some machine are rigged for you not to win. Some are too loose that the reward will slip on it while some are too stiff.

It's not that the claw drops the stuff that they get, it's that the owner of those claw machines are the ones that's rigging those claws, if you can disassemble at least one of them, you would probably or likely see a mechanism there to adjust for the grip of the claw and most of the time, most claw machine owners can set at the weakest grip to make sure that they're getting more out of their money from that machine. Totally agree that it's a rigged gambling, but there are some fair claw machines out there, the only problem is that they're not a lot of them so it's not really worth finding out which of them is good where you got a fair chance getting something out of them or if they're the bad ones were you can easily know at your first play that the claw machine is rigged to not get you any prizes.

I think those machines are somewhat "certified" and they are usually just shitty claws, but if you are lucky, you can get the prizes.

Well, considering there are versions of those machines which literally have cash inside them to lure both young ones and adult people to wager money on them, I believe it makes sense for those machines to be somehow rigged in favor of the operator of them.
Though, assuming they are rigged and there is no provable fairness mechanism behind the electronics and mechanics of the game, I would have expected all these machines to be completely avoided by the public.
I mean... People still go to casinos because they know there is some provable fairness behind the games they like to play, so there is always a chance to get profit, at least a little. On the other hand, if these metallical claws are not regulated and are actually rigged, then why has not law enforcement come and put a stop to this?

Recently, my friends and I tried to win a toy in this, and we didn't succeed. We came to our senses on the 5th attempt and stopped playing. This thing is really very addictive. But I think it's best to stop after the first attempt.

One thing i see about the use of claw machines in gambling is the physical challenge, this kind of gambling game is mainly for the purpose of physical gambling, i don't see it as a good idea because of that for one to travel to other countries when it is not sure that you're going to win for doing that, all we can only benefit from this is when we are able to discover the location for one in the country where we are and take advantage of that opportunity in using it to try our own luck.

It should not also be a surprised that we can discover some gamblers found under the attempt of taking extra steps in traveling extra miles just to fulfil their desires for this kind of gambling, just for the sake of having adventure tour.

The thing is that with lotto you can't do anything to change the outcome. Whereas with the claw games you can somehow influence the game with your physical ability.

I see them as a different kind of thing. Gambling is 100% based on random, whereas the claw game is based on skill and luck.
