Hi everyone,
I'm headed to Russia for a few months and I'm wondering if there are any cards I can use there without having to do kyc. I want to link it up with Google Pay or something similar to buy stuff in shops or wherever.

I've heard about cards like Upay that work globally, but I'm not sure if they'll work in Russia. I know they have MIR cards there, but I'm not sure where to find them or if there are any prepaid ones no kyc I can get with crypto.

Any help or advice would be awesome.

Thanks!

Getting card that will work in Russia is a bit complicated, but not impossible. But you should forget about no KYC. From what I read, there is few banks that you can get MIR card as foreigner - Tinkoff, Raiffeisen or Sberbank. But they will ask not only your passport, but you will need Russian phone number.
I guess that simplier options is getting UnionPay card. And I doubt that crypto debit card that works in Russia exists.

Upay doesn't work in Russia. Non-Russian cards Visa, MasterCard, AmEx and JCB cannot be used in Russia at all. You can use MIR and UnionPay only. Moreover, Google Pay doesn't provide its services in Russia. You need another similar wallet called MirPay: https://privetmir.ru/mirpay/

There is an anonymous MIR card: https://yoomoney.ru/page?id=536280 All the needed KYC for it is a phone number (not necessarily Russian). But without KYC you can use the card only in shops (not in ATMs), and the maximum amount of payments is 15 000 RUB (around 160 USD) monthly.

Do you know if this card should be working for online shopping in Russia?
And is there any way to send money on this non-kyc yoomoney cards using bitcoin and/or other cryptocurrencies?
I received this questions a while ago from one member and I couldn't find an answer.

Online shopping - yes, on all the Russian websites.

Regarding the top-up methods, no. If the Yoomoney account is anonymous, you may not top-up from outside the account. The only top-up method is as follows:
- sign in to your Yoomoney account,
- enter the full requisites (number and CVV) of any other Russian card or Belarusian Belkart-MIR card from which you are going to send money to your anonymous wallet,
- confirm the top-up with 3DS code.
Thus, the owner of an anonymous Yoomoney account is the only person who can send money to this account.

I know there are no official methods to top up balance with cryptocurrency, but I was thinking of some services that offer indirect methods using third parties.
Last time I checked Bestchange was offering payments with yoomoney cards, not sure if this is working at all and without any verification.
Not that I trust Bestchange very much, but I didn't see any alternative with this service.

Thus, the owner of an anonymous Yoomoney account is the only person who can send money to this account.
Someone else with yoomoney account can't send money to other yoomoney account?

Technically, it's possible to send funds from another account to an anonymous one. But it is not allowed to receive such a transfer if the receiving account is anonymous. With the incoming transfer, you receive a reminder about necessary verification. Incase you refuse to pass it, the transfer returns to the sender in 30 days.

So, there is no legal way to receive money from another person unless you get verified.
