Church is a religious place for the followers of the biblical Jesus Christ to worship and praise him
Of recent church is one of one the fastest growing business in this part of the world. Church business is so lucrative that every body wants to go into it and are opening churches
Infact the rate at which GOD is calling people into the ministry is what gave me concerned as I have been waiting for the same call but is not forth coming, before the advent of this present evegelical move people who where associated with the church where termed church rats but today that statement has changed as it is now the church rats that are giving food to the outside rats
Infact pastor's have become so rich that they now own private jets and millionaire, the way our economy is going opening a ministry is now a sure away of moving away from economic hardship

Given the state of the world and my perception of it, some pastors are not called by God, and others are in it for the money. I've been wondering, though, why it's that only pastors used to be able to make easy money these days. In the past, a pastor needed donations from churchgoers or gifts from the pastor himself in order to succeed financially. However, these days, it doesn't take months for a pastor to become wealthy, buy a fancy car, and live a life where no one knows where the money came from.

We live in a dark world where people come out and declare themselves to be God's chosen ones, then open places for prayer. I've seen pastors plan out their days in advance of services, assembling people to act hypocritically and give the impression that they are powerful so they can carry out their schemes. Religion has turned into a business these days, and if it's not God, I don't believe in any wealthy pastors because I always assume they are frauds.

I guess that in the past that it's only people that are genuinely called by God, and their spirits attest to their calling that goes into pastoring, and they live modest lifestyles with integrity and spirituality. But nowadays since the inception if modern day prosperity preachers, who will scam their followers by continuously collecting their money in the name of giving to God, they'll promise their members riches, but in the end they're the only ones that gets rich off the moneys of their members. Now due to the economic hardship in many countries, especially in Africa, people are now capitalizing on the name of God, to do fake miracles and scam people of their hard earned money.

Certain pastors tend to be more concerned with spiritual gifts and the well-being of their congregations, while others are more concerned with material things than things above, and some, because of the country's economic challenges, are encouraging more people to look for comfort in religion, and that this expansion is just an expression of that. It's also worth noting that there are a variety of kinds of churches, each with its own method of ministry and objectives. So merely looking at the figures is insufficient to establish that the church is a developing "business". We must assess the influence that these churches are making on the communities they serve as well as worldwide.

Here in our country, religion is made into a business. I know of an organization here, the church. They spend a lot on their rented accommodation, which is around $2,000 monthly;
their food is not even there; and they pay monthly for their cars.

Then the expenses for tickets to other countries are also large, considering that the church is international, so the legacy can be continued by the children when their oldest bishop in the church is gone. So many people get really rich from religion.

Usually discussion like this I don't like involving myself because I know certainly it must raise an unwanted dust or argument which I will not longer give attention to. At first we as Nigerian like doing things on our own even without seeking for the face of the Lord, I can't say people are jumping into ministry without God calling them, if I could understand clearly our God has died for us, thus we are chosen generation. We have power to heal and cast any demons therefore, if anyone goes into church without the sole purpose of making money then God will surely show himself over there but if they are using it for merchandise then they would seek for extra ordinary power over their churches to attract more members in order to have much multitudes. With this people will always wants to go into church to make their money because they believe churches are the best to make money or quickly get riched, well there are more things to know when becoming an uncalled man of God you could face some punishment at your later ending for becoming a false prophets.

Here in our country, the Church can put a candidate in the highest position, this is why the politicians in our country are wooing these church leaders because they voted as block or they voted as one, the Church is exempted from taxes so they can build their schools and charge people and they do not have to worry about paying taxes.
Creating a religious sect here in our country is a lucrative business, politicians and leaders are paying visits to pastors and church leaders because they have loyal followers who will do whatever they ask of them.

It's a pity how some members of some church no walk around ordinary without any protection and you will see these men of so called God walk around with security and also bullet proof cars, same money that was gotten from money contributed by the members. What happen to the power they claimed to have, why not walk around with faith if indeed they are men of God that has power to do anything.

They also have the habit of of opening private universities, the school that are open by congregation money but the members wouldn't have the money to send their children to the same school, the school inflate the school fees to attract rich people while the average people don't get to do send their children their. It's a shame that church is now a well established business place than what  it was purposely meant to serve.

Believe me this is the exact reason I stopped going to church, infact I'm not into any religion but rather a humanist, I prefer to be my brothers keeper than have this religious thinking out into my head but some few people who call themselves pastor's and men of Godean while the actual reason for being their is to make profit than worship.

It has become a real problem in the society and I believe that is where our problems as africans are coming from, we where thought this religion but we have taken it to ourselves and even divide ourselves because of the particular organisation we belong. This church thing has impacted in the society negatively, so much that the economy is even depreciating constantly because of this same thing.

Every fact about the poor governance of a country, inflation, economical hardship etc are all related to the business perspective of churches not just churches, let's make it religions in general because it's being practiced all over the place including the mosque. People get into power for the sake of their own religion, offerings and titles are forcefully taking from the people with a biblical preaching backing it up etc. I have a lot to say but if I continue it will become out of point and at the same time weird to a lot of us.

But it's good to know that the impact of religion (church as put by OP) is incredibly bad. Funds are lots as a result of sweet words share by the theocrats.

Because of how religion has been followed blindly by some especially in Africa, people are being exploited by some men and women who claim to be called by God to be pastors.

There are a few legitimate pastors that were really called by God, but their number cannot be compared to the many who called themselves into it because they realized that they can make easy money from extorting their members.

My advice to every Christian is to make sure they always have a personal relationship with God first, before their pastors. If you really know God, you will not be among the many people who can easily be brainwashed by someone who calls themselves a pastor.

Africans are dump, they call them so called gods demons, domonized all they know about them roots because of what the white man says or preach for a religion they brought. The so called demonized gods are now making billions for them in the so called museums. I do believe in God but this so called religion has so much to it.

Africans should go back to them roots and do things them own way. Accepting a religion they don't know is the highest form of mental slavery and this is something they must do to protect the up coming generations.

These so called pastors and men of God are monkeys, those who are stupid will fall for them schemes as for myself, I'm African and proud, I believe in God and I don't need take my money to these hungers scumbags.

So he’s a Christian pastor with a net worth of $300 million, and I think we can safely say that he is a top businessman and that his church is a big company that makes a lot of money. Believe it or not, he is not even the richest pastor... if you google a little about rich pastors you will be surprised at what you can see.

The most profitable and best-selling business is selling religion to ignorant people. because if you want to control stupid people then wrap bad things in good things, wrap falsehoods in holy Bible verses only for the benefit of yourself or a certain group, whether to enrich yourself or for the benefit of others. And this doesn't only apply to Christianity, but I think in almost every religion there are individuals who behave like this. However, this is not the only reason we decide to stop visiting places of worship, as long as our intentions are good, to get closer to the Creator.

And there is a question, "are these pastors really called or are they just looking for a way out of economic difficulties...?"
There may be some preachers or pastors in this world who honestly and sincerely serve without prioritizing personal interests and ignoring financial gain. Their congregation or ministry can provide them with donations and favors which they can then use to buy things like luxury jets or other wealth. But regardless of how wealth is acquired, there are ethical questions about how it is managed and whether it is spent wisely for the public good or solely for the benefit of individuals.

Among the 12 there will forever be a Judas' which is what should seem astonishing that amidst genuinely Godly men of God known as pastors that there are those others with a different motive entirely, these are those that are out there to serve their own interests to enrich themselves in the disguise of pastorship.

The economic hardship has actually taken a harsh effect on the society and a lot of people are galvanizing all means to use and sustain their belly. And the rising number of belly-interest pastors have made the work of God rather appear to be a business venture that is purely profit oriented than soul winning and teaching of the gospel of salvation.

Now will it be justifiable that since many churches has turned to become profit making venture, that government in those societies that are known for not taxing the church being a religious organizations can now start taxing the church seeing how they acquire luxurious properties, private jets, private universities all through the money from church.

They've found a way to turn faith into a goldmine. The saddest part is how many of us fall for it; some dude can barely quote a Bible verse right, yet we're handing him our hard-earned cash

Preaching used to be about helping the needy, about spreading the message. Now, it's about private jets and mansions. When did serving God become about living like a rockstar? It's not holy, it's a damn scam

I'm not judging anyone's beliefs. But exploiting faith for personal gain? That's not faith, that's fraud. This whole system feeds off people's desperation, off their good hearts. They're selling salvation when the price tag should be zero. The real question is: when did we become okay with this? When did we let flashy suits and slick sermons replace real spiritual guidance? It's time we hold these "pastors" accountable and demand a change

This is an African way and I believe you must be from Africa to have this experience. The calling thing is people  using that means to skin others of their money and material gains. It is not because they really doing the work that pleases God. They are only after what they will get from their congregations. Most of those who claim they are called by God are people who have failed to secure employment or make money from their businesses, so they go into opening churches as a way to earn a living from their low thinking followers. Anybody can open a church especially in my country. All you need is a dead conscience to do that. Church is a business centre in Africa. Am not sure Europeans do it the way Africans bastardized religion.

Of course, the only thing that others will think about is nothing else but the love offerings that are requested from the members of the church, and if someone gives donations, they don't say how much they collected in donations, right?

There's a lot of people who are using God's words in order to deceive people to gain fame and money.

Well, a smart person would automatically will figure it out that a certain pastor is a fake one. However, since most of the people in the community is not a critical thinker, that's why they are easily brainwashed by these kind of pastor wannabe. So before going in a certain religion or sector, make a solid observation before deciding to be one of them.

I think that nowadays almost in many religions something like this has happened when there are certain figures who really want to gain fame and money through this route. And that's why I'm sometimes too lazy to listen to lectures from religious leaders of any kind because in the end they also have a goal of making money and fame like other artists too. So careful observation is of course really needed in this case because it will be difficult for everyone to know whether it is genuine or fake if it is not observed properly.

so what's thier to really talk about? How are we going to know if they are called of God or not? Well, since you're talking from the angle of being a church person, you should be familiar with this saying that by there fruit you shall know them and this is just the simple way to know if theybare called of God or are product of self call that's just centered on filling thier belly.

No doubt, we have the bad eggs and in the midst of them we still have the good ones but let's not conclude that it's all about the money. Do you think it's easily to have the kind of audience these men have? If it was all that easy, try it and then you will understand that what they are doing is not a child's play. I'm totally against anyone that feels the work of God should become a primary source of income or that they should fake as if they are men of God just to exploit people

That's valid for many nations, plus a lot of religions as well not just church. Religion is not something that can continue without money, remove money from religion today, and you will end up poor overall and religion would die off in a few years.

There was a good quote that said something like "make a ticket worth 5 bucks to go into church, and church goers would stop going to church" type of thing, which is true because if you made it 5 bucks to enter a church, soon you won't find any people in there, hence church has to make money some other way. I believe it's done better in the USA, it's all based on donation, but here? They even pay the church to keep it going, they get money from the government to keep their bells on.

So defiantly believing in some pastors, I don't think is the right thing to do, because if you are engaged in locking for stories, you will come across many fake pastors that will cheat their fellowship and run with the money in the sense that everyone believes you as a man of God, and I usually see those stories happening in many of the African countries.

Really depends on how you look at it, I do agree, majority of them are fake and wearing that clothes but deep inside they are just looking to enrich themselves to even do crimes that you won't think that a man of worship can do.

But it's a centuries plague already, they've already used their power and abuse using their authority. And throughout history we've seen men raises their arms in revolt against the Church. But in this generation, not sure if we can see a person doing that, the Church is now beyond control that they can do anything they want without any without ramification.
