What if the email that was used in the account is not active anymore what would be the next alternative. I see that the message that would be sent to the email has to be the email associated to that account. Or am i wrong?

I want to still understand the banned part. If an account is banned it means you don't have to file an appeal on the forum rather, we are to send a message to an email that was showed on the banned message, right?

no you're right it's actually recommended to use a valid email when creating address, I'm actually looking for a thread were Theymos spoke about this but will do that later since I can't find it now

I want to still understand the banned part. If an account is banned it means you don't have to file an appeal on the forum rather, we are to send a message to an email that was showed on the banned message, right?

I guessed when members are banned the forum admin send them a message to their email and if it is possible for them to rectify the reason for the banned they might add an email address by which the banned member can message them to clarify everything.

This is totally different from the banned appeal by some members of the forum when they then have to create an alt account in order to make post for their appeal

no you're right it's actually recommended to use a valid email when creating address, I'm actually looking for a thread were Theymos spoke about this but will do that later since I can't find it now

If you have the valid email, what is the point of sending email to the recovery team because you can click on forgot password and the link to reset your password can be sent to your email. So if you have your email, forgot password can easily be used for the recovery. I do not know why theymos said signature is required. I thought before that signature will be required if you are not able to have access to your email and not remember your password or your account is hacked.

Exactly because if the email you used in registering the account is working then there is no need to dm the admin of anyone you just hit the forgotten password 🔑 then a link would be sent to your email for your to retrieve your account again. But I have seen someone who has lost his password and were tried to clicked on forgot password but no way. Even the email he used in registering to the website refused to open open and everything lost about the account. So if me I dey give advise I dey tok say make dem use someone whey dem no go forget.

Maybe because hackers might have gotten access to the User email and try to request for password reset I guessed that would be the need for this
