It was my first attempt at playing a live game. I wagered #1000 on a winning range of #7,000 on three live games out of a total of seven odd. I started to question why this sport bet robot was acting that way after two of the three games had already been played, even if I eventually won the game. At that point, my cash out was #1,641.

Is that Nigerian Naira currency? It's just that I just looked it up and I see it's the equivalent roughly to $1.2, and I imagine the Nigeria cost of living is lower but I don't imagine it's such a large amount to make a cashout.

Why will I want to bet a game with 1k just to later cash out 1,641, it's like saying I made a profit of 641. Who does that! I am that gambler that don't fancy cash out that much which why before I place my bet I have before then made up my mind that there's no room for cash out be it  live match prediction or prematch.

I take so much exception for cash out as they have high tendency of making you settle for less by putting the gambler in a tight corner to be force to quit from furthering on with the risk of getting his profit in full. And for such games with small amount of potential win of what good will a cash out amount be.

Maybe because it was the first time he simply wanted to try his luck and that's it, he won and withdrew the money. I don't know about you, but the first times I bet I was very cautious. Nowadays I wouldn't make a bet like that but back in the day I could have done it.

Probably you had total of 7 odds to give you that potential winning amount of 7433.37 naira with your staking of 1,000 Naira. Experienced player would have allowed the game go on and maximize his profit afterall the risk isn't high.

And some other gambler would have gone for more risk by adding to their bankroll.

So it is just different for different player but a bet that is cashed out might have gone ahead to win all or might have also been a total lost, it is two ways. It is about the decision we want to take

Congratulations at least you made a win in your first attempt at live bets, I advice you not to get carried away with the amount in winning but the fun that you enjoyed predicting the outcome of an event that plays out to be in your predictions.


Gambling is highly addictive and at that you should not allow your greed to build any form of over confidence in you to the point that you start betting on a regular basis, because failing into that state will be a big disaster for you as a newbie.

It is simple, check the odds the both games you have won, the first is 1.8 odds while the second is 1.9 odds, and also check the odds of the game that is not yet played, the odds is around 2.05, what does this tell you?

It simply means that the game which is yet to be played, has a higher odds than the 2 other games that has played and you won, and this also means that, you have a lower or smaller chances of winning this particular game, as we all know that the higher the odds of a game, the slimmer the chances of winning that game.

So, the casino have made your cash out very small even after you have won two games out of three, because,  the game that is yet to play has a higher odds than the other two that have played, and there is a high chances that you might lose that game, so, if the casino gives you an attractive cashout amount, you might decide to take it and close the bet, and this they don't want you to do, so, either take what you are given, or wait for the remaining one game to play if you are confident enough that you would also win it.

Let's assume that this was the OP first attempt $1.2 is a small amount of money for him, cashing out that money will make him to gamble with it again. So IMO there is no need for the OP to Cash out that gamble.
However he's not yet luck, as the whole games are not yet ended, when the whole games ends that's when we can say op is lucky even if the money is too small for one to be happy for. Any time I deposits money to my bet account, I don't ever put in mind to cash out such small money, I always want it big but I don't chase lose, and that's the thing I like from me while gambling.

I think it's not about how big or small his bet is, it's about the experience for him betting on this kind of multi-parlay although I'm not that familiar with the sports. So yeah, it's a 7 multi leg bet.

But hopefully, the OP will not be hungry for more as this could be what we term as beginners luck. And he could go for more in his next bet and just go all in and continue and not cash out early.

You can't dictate how much they'll put as a cashout as it's not the main outcome of the game.

You bet to win or loss,, that cashout thing is just new but sometimes it makes us get greedy and miss the opportunity to enjoy a bigger winning. If I would choose, I'd rather not have that cashout option in my account if there's a way to block it because it causes some interruption on my focus.

So what happen to your bet, did you successfully cash out or just waited for all the events to be graded?? you win or lose?

Because your last ongoing bet is still value @1.5 odds which means your first 2 bets despite the high odds can be erased with just a single loss of the last bet. This is the risk which the casino is taking for the design of their cashout.

Cashout value is not proportional to amount of already win bets but rather it depends on the remaining odds on your parlay. Just wait until that last bet settled since your potential profit is too high compared when you cashout/lose the bets. You have a minimal lose here in exchange for x7 profit.

Is cashing out still your option when you are already winning and the last match is also about to win too. Unless you are in a hurry and want to take that 600+ that wouldn't make sense. But it's true also why the amount to cashout is not that high when it should have been at least bigger.

I wouldn't cash out a win or lose, its all gamble. My guess is that sportsbet is still hopeful you'd lose

Well, cash out option has been there already, but it may differ from sportsbook to sportsbook, so you can't question the casino if the amount in the cash out is lower than you expected. What you have to do is just don't mind it or mind it... cash out if you are not sure with your bet, but if you are confident you'll win, you'll let the games to be over and see what happen. You know, the best feeling in gambling is when you are brave enough to accept whatever will happen and cash out option is not for the brave ones.

Lol...It's Nigerian Naira (NGN) and the money is indeed small, it can't buy a standard meal even in the country, to say the least. Notwithstanding, it is not about the size of the money but the success thereof, that's what the OP wanted us to know, and perhaps the joy attached to it at the same time. I can feel the spirit.

Also, the success has to do with the money we wager, the OP's risk was small, which is why the gain was small too. I can see the odds, they are good enough, so he got what he risked. This is what pains people at times when the outcomes are all green and he might regret not wagering higher money in such a game. Maybe next time, he can try better with a higher risk for a higher gain.

I often do that with different game pattern but what I like most is draw because the option yield good returns with just a few games in selection.

The way he constructs his post and the amount involved on his bet surely he is pertaining to the inconsistency of the cashout amount offer compared to the odds that he already won while he is still waiting for the last leg of his parlay.

Even I is wondering why does the cashout is around 1.6 while it was supposed to be close on a 2 match with both 2.5odds parlay bets. Choosing cashout option is not a sign of fear but rather it’s the desire to secure profit.

The Op did not say this was their first time gambling, just their first time staking on a live bet. They also did not say whether or not they took the cash-out option.

It must have been an experience the first time playing on a game that is already live. You have to do some more bits of analysis and most importantly you need to be watching the games live to have a feel of the momentum and which way it is looking to go. Jumping blind into live bets is very risky.
