Recently I came to know about the Bitget Web3.0 wallet (https://web3.bitget.com/en) as they are offering some tasks like depositing and swapping on their platform that will earn us their free airdrop of their native token BWB.

Airdrop of 50 Million BWB: Official Launch of Bitget Wallet's Ecosystem Token!

I have been using the Unstoppable wallet for my altcoins and I want to know if is it safe to transfer some coins on Bitget wallet ? Anyone using the Bitget wallet can share their experiences and differentiate between the two.

Also, is Bitget Wallet Open Source?

Airdrop of 50 Million BWB: Official Launch of Bitget Wallet's Ecosystem Token!

I have been using the Unstoppable wallet for my altcoins and I want to know if is it safe to transfer some coins on Bitget wallet ? Anyone using the Bitget wallet can share their experiences and differentiate between the two.

Also, is Bitget Wallet Open Source?
I learned about it a few days ago from a forum user too, most probably from the Pakistan board. I will try to reach him and ask to response you here. I was asked to download the wallet. Install and move $100 to $1200 to the wallet and do swapping and things. I did not check everything yet though. Hopefully he will guide you.

Yes I am farming this airdrop fro a week and now I have 700 points with 3600 rank. Bitget exchange is on the No12 ranking in the coinmarketcap and I will say that it is safe exchange so far. Bitget wallet is officially managing by bitget exchange. Their first name was Bitkeep which is rebranded to bitget wallet now. I am using the wallet for more then 2 years and I found it save DYOR

Ok here is my strategy to farm this airdrop

Create full new wallet, you will get 50 points
Enter Refer code of someone (you will get 20 points).
Now Send 200$ worth matic, eth(optimism network) or any low fee network token. Bridge to usdt and usdc and then daily swao usdt-usdc usdc-usdt to make 1000$ volume daily. You will get 100 points daily. I am expected 500$-1500$ profit from this airdrop.

Really appreciate the guidance on the airdrop however I am more interested to know if this is a closed source or open source wallet ?
As you must know that trust wallet is also being widely used for many people but it is not recommended as it is a closed source.

My other question was how do you compare it with Unstoppable Wallet and is it worth switching to bitget wallet if anyone using unstoppable wallet ? I mean I do not want to transfer my funds only to get this airdrop but to store them here for long term. Is it worth storing coins here ?

You can read this article. I think this article have all your questions answes

https://web3.bitget.com/en/blog/articles/bitkeep-the-most-secure-and-convenient-web3-0-wallet

As far my experience I think Unstoppable wallet is best one for storing altcoins and I don't see any other wallet which is better than this one. I cannot compare any other wallet woth Unstoppable. I will not recommend to move your fund to bitget wallet.

Does Bitget wallet support Bitcoin? I failed to find anything about Bitcoin and its blockchain on their website. Only one small Bitcoin logo in the chapter about wallet protection fund. It seems that wallet itself is for altcoins only.

I have not used this wallet before, but i decided to check a few things about it online, though there are limited articles about the wallet, but i read that it has an open source code:
Quote
It’s also worth noting that Bitget Wallet uses open-source code so anyone can check the code and make sure everything is legit
My other question was how do you compare it with Unstoppable Wallet and is it worth switching to bitget wallet if anyone using unstoppable wallet ? I mean I do not want to transfer my funds only to get this airdrop but to store them here for long term. Is it worth storing coins here ?
Is there any reason why you want to move your coins, Unstoppable wallet is recommended by a lot of users here on the forum and some of them have also reviewed it, Bitget wallet is new and i don't think i have seen any review of it here in the forum. I think you should keep your funds in unstoppable wallet and even if you want to move it out, it should be into a hardware wallet and not another software wallet that is not well reviewed.

Here is a source that reviews Bitget wallet, you can go through it to get more details about the wallet:

Also, is Bitget Wallet Open Source?
Despite having a GitHub link in the footer area of their website, their wallet isn't open-source [I already checked all of the repositories]!
- They're not the first wallet provider to lie about their true nature!

Does Bitget wallet support Bitcoin? I failed to find anything about Bitcoin and its blockchain on their website.
Yes, it does: Bitcoin (BTC) Wallet

I failed to find an answer to the question of whether this wallet is open source or closed source even when I searched for information about the source of this wallet on their github.

Bidget wallet pays more attention to web3 trading wallet as explained on their website.
Maybe someone will be present to give you an answer regarding the source of this wallet, whether it is closed source or open source.

Edit: SFR10 already answered that it is not an open source wallet.

You can't rely on random online articles, most of them carry false information, mate. You have to manually look for the source code, and currently it's private or not available for the public.

Check their GitHub. The profile is deleted https://github.com/bitkeepcom

I think any web3 wallet that came from any exchanges is not safe why don't you just stay using Metamask wallet?
However, if your purpose is to join Airdrop you will need to install this web3 wallet from Bitget just like on Binance they do also have a web3 wallet you can't join to any Airdrop if you don't install their web3 wallet.
Only use their wallet for airdrop it's not good if you transfer all your funds from Unstoppable Wallet to their web3 wallet like others said above it does not have an open-source wallet which is a red flag for me however, we can only join and get airdrop if we install their web3 wallet. Based on my experienced it's working fine I don't see any issue just make sure you don't hold any coins/token from this wallet and only use this wallet to get airdrops.

Check their GitHub. The profile is deleted https://github.com/bitkeepcom

Seems like the Bitget wallet is not an open source so i would not risk much to move funds to the closed source Bitget wallet. It is always good to first understand the risk and reward before participating in any airdrop and that was the reason I was concerned about it whether it is open source.

Yes, the closed source wallet can keep on running for years and years like a Trust wallet but least they speak the truth that "They are closed Source".
Bitget wallets claim to be open source but in fact it is closed source, seems like a big red flag to me.
Being closed source may be acceptable but being dishonest is not tolerable . Angry

Angry
Sorry to disappoint you, trustwallet at one point claimed that they were open source, and yet they were not and then when users keep asking them queries regarding the source code, they then claimed that they had to make the source code close sourced for "security reasons"

Bitget is actively promoting their products in all platforms but I find their approach is kind of shady, even in this forum they used newbie account to constantly shill their names instead of promoting in the right way so I don't find their products trustable.

Also I checked some actual reviews about their wallet and swap functions which is not good either so it's no way near unstoppable wallet in my opinion.

BITGET stole all my crypto! #bitgetscam exposed read my story, tell yours!

Avoid using Bitget Wallet's swap function (and maybe Bitget Wallet as a whole)

They can hire a third party marketing company to shill Bitget on many platforms and Bitcointalk can be one of destinations from their marketing propaganda.

They are a big exchange, has deep budget and they can use their marketing budget very ineffectively as one of careless ways to spend money.

Also, is Bitget Wallet Open Source?
People answered above that Bitget wallet is close source, that is true.

You can read reviews on Bitget wallet and confirmation that the wallet is close source.
https://walletscrutiny.com/?platform=allPlatforms&page=0&query-string=bitget

If you don't know where to check, you have to be cautious with wallets built by any centralized exchange. The possibility that wallet is close source, is very high.

I agree with you, i don't think shilling is the right way to go for any company or organization; hiring newbies who do not have any knowledge of what they are promoting and whom just make generic or copy-paste knowledge about the company is counterproductive and a good reason not to use their services.

Since they are a big exchange, they should know how to effectively advertise, and if they wanted advertisement in the forum, it should have been through running a signature campaign and not hiring shills to spam in the forum.

They announced to be going closed source in early 2018[1], but even after Binance acquired the wallet later in the year they still went on about it being open source in the hopes that no one will actually check and verify the statement or confuse the library resource for the source code.

If I am not wrong they had their official signature campaign just for a few weeks but they keep doing the shilling via newbie, even I saw a thread today from a newbie who indirectly promoted the Bitget's token and in the way that it doesn't violate the forum rules but definitely, it creates a bad impression about their activities.

I've seen this wallet as well because there is an airdrop that they're going to release. Aside from that, they've got a lot of people inserting them always with discussions so that's probably their PR that are also in the forum.

I agree, most of these web3 wallets have of course their own reasons why they're being developed and mainly if you're just for the sake of the airdrop. You better not trust your funds on them quickly but with what I am seeing, they're not different from the known trustwallet that's now owned by binance although they also have their own web3 wallet as well. What a crazy development from all of these exchanges making their own closed source wallets.

Yeah, they hired many shillers to shill their exchange in the forum, i don't know what they are thinking or maybe they do not know how this forum functions. Because these shillers are doing more harm than good to their reputation, because this type of advertisement is kind of shady on bitcointalk.
What a crazy development from all of these exchanges making their own closed source wallets.
I think they know that people who 'trust' their exchange would trust their wallet, even if it is closed source and not recommended, many people do not care about important things like this.
