Gambling board merit thread

I have an idea in mind for a possible merit thread related to gambling which a merit source can do in gambling board but I’m not sure if this is acceptable by the public.

I’m thinking about rewarding someone a merit for an achievement they can get on gambling such as slot multiplier challenge, parlay challenge on sportsbook and many more that is related on gambling. This way those who genuinely contributing on the board through sharing their achievements on gambling will be rewarded here in the forum since we have a lot of challenge and simple task that can earn a merit in Bitcoin board section while gambling board receives less due to the amount of shitpost.

Example:
Hit a multiplier above x1000 or win a parlay bet with an odds of 50 to receive a merit. Depending to the merit source that will use this.


I’m not a merit source nor have enough smerit to share. I’m just sharing if this kind of merit thread for gambling is allowed if ever a merit source will do this? Is this foolish because it might promote more harm due to gambling?

I considered this idea as junk as it can be a cause for gambling addiction and someone might potentially abused it. I didn’t pay much attention to this critical effect because I’m genuinely looking forward to reward users that is active on actual gambling

This is an anonymous space so if you suggest that when anyone makes a post showing his gambling achievements,he earns some merit, some persons will definitely take it as an avenue to fish merit some will definitely start forging stories and falsifying betting slips. Besides who's going to check if the are all real slips.

The reason merit doesn't flow much in the gambling section is because of the majority of quality posters and merit sources see it as spam section. The idea is a nice one but what are the odds that a merit source would sacrifice his smerits to the gambling section order than a board like technical discussion.

It's different, they ask users to learn about Bitcoin which mean there's a quality from the challenge, not only use money or giveaway without any quality.

It’s a gambling board after all. That is real gambling imo and it’s much better quality of post on gambling board rather the typical post in there stating general opinion about gambling is already recycled many times.

I consider actual gambling post as quality because they play to hit that achievement. It’s not actually pay to post if you are an actual gambler. It’s a way to reward those who genuinely gamble just to have an organic post in the gambling board besides there’s a limit on the amount of merit that user can receive for a period of time.

I really doubt. Falsifying story is more rampant on Bitcoin discussion to fish merit. Every bet is verifiable in gambling. That is the difference. It’s not easy to farm merit with this method.


By means of challenge on my post. It means hitting a certain amount of multiplier or odds to receive a merit not a random bet slip or multiplier.

Firstly love the idea but it's very difficult to achieve because of the way things are done in the gambling board, alot of post are just repetition of old posts that had been treated and perhaps it's considered spamming.

Your idea of meriting post that discussing achievements in gambling can be manipulated in several ways, since there is no way to keep an eye on the results that will be uploaded as true but if only you have an idea on how to handle the lies then you can explain it here, if convincing enough then this idea could be bought by the merit sources.

I suggest that someone with high level of knowledge of the gambling board should be made a merit source to handle merit spread in the gambling board, thus with that high knowledge in gambling he or she could determine what is quality post or not.

I already explained above. There’s a way to verify all bets in a casino because it has a bet ID which you can verify the result through the support or by clicking the bet link like slots.

Cheaters can be easily caught if they provide bet ID that is contradicting to what they are sharing on the thread.

My only problem on this idea is about newbie trying to gamble just to earn merit which is not my intention since my original target here are those who regularly gamble.

Cryptos are primarily used in gambling and casinos, so I don't see why it's considered a taboo or some sort to merit such discussions.

Even a simple guide such as "How to take advantage of welcome/ deposit bonuses" would be quite helpful to active gamblers.

I’m just trying to suggest an idea for a potential merit thread for gambling in similarity to the merit thread available on the Bitcoin board. Of course those who contribute a quality post in a form of discussion or sharing information is always good to give a merit. This idea is just an alternative on how gambling board can potentially receive merit.

I don’t think these type of posts deserve merits. People may get some merits for their accomplishments every once in awhile but it shouldn’t be a regular thing. You also want to assign a merit source to this job, giving merits to every “I won $10000 fuck yeeeeah” post which is pretty ridiculous. I can’t approve this proposal. I am pretty sure the other sensible members of the community will agree with me. People get merits for their quality posts. Merits don’t really serve any other purpose.

I’m not criticizing generally the gambling discussion because I myself is active in there. I’m just answering your post about how valuable for me the achievement post for actual gambling because you are questioning the quality of that kind of post.

I have no objection on how the gambling discussion works right now. I’m just suggesting a new way to reward merit on gambling board but I’m not telling that those discussion in there assuming it’s constructive shouldn’t be rewarded a merit. Let’s not mix the general gambling discussion. I’m just pertaining on some discussion post that is nonsense because it’s already recycled and not the general post in there.

Disregarding the potential addiction it will cost because this is also my concern. But I don’t see something wrong if a regular gambler will set an achievement to hit regardless of the amount because it’s not easy to do that.

We are discussing about merit as reward here. This is not a contest but rather just to reward merit for those who meet the requirements. Besides there’s also a merit thread which user can receive merit by simply posting the current merit left to rank up.

Okay, now I clearly the whole idea, I think it's very much nice.

Hence I would suggest a new idea here to cope with the gambling addiction and that might arise as a merit fishing.
I will suggest that you make it in a way that it's rank limited, like it's only allow on full member+ or snr member+ as to ensure that they must have alot of knowledge concerning gambling addiction and how to cope with it.

I believe this will help in a way but that's dependant how much the idea is adopted.

Coming from someone who participates in a campaign known for the poor quality of what its members write, with a few exceptions, who takes a loan for gambling although when applying for it he says it is for personal use, that he now comes up with this supposedly great idea that involves not knowing anything about what the merit system was created for, well, I am not surprised, as I say.

Why you brought up my loan application here including the word “personal use” while gambling is my hobby. I didn’t mention specific purpose for that matter. Besides I’m always paying all my loan in advance so what’s wrong with that? This is already becoming personal rather than a civilized discussion.

The amount is regardless on the challenge as I mention already above. It’s about the multiplier. Winning 10K with huge multiplier is what I’m talking. I didn’t brought up the value here but I’m only suggesting that winning that amount is not that easy for this challenge because this is about multiplier.


I think this is really a foolish idea since the majority of user is against it which means there’s something wrong about it. Thanks @Jawhead999 and @mindrust for all your contributions and criticism. I will lock this thread after an hour to give chance to others.

Merit wasn't implemented on this forum to promote gambling activities, it was created to help genuinely good users, who post high-quality posts and are good forum contributors. Merit for gambling basically means that we will promote those who gamble and I don't think it's a good idea because it can trigger gambling addiction in those people who start gambling for the sake of receiving merit.
On the gambling board, we should merit those who post high-quality posts. We might merit those who make accurate sports predictions, those who post about bugs and how to fix them, those who create new casino games and etc... In overall, the purpose of merits is to lower the spam, merit requirement makes ranking up hard and fewer people spam via a signature campaign. I think we shouldn't mess with this.
