Many People Probably don't even Remember but there was a Time when it was Thought that a Fork or a Clone could not become the New Blockchain, there was this idea that once a Blockchain had been made, there could not be a "Counterfeit" as they might have called it, and if they did not call it that then they behaved that way Calling them "Shit Coins" and whatnot. Then, Ethereum was Hacked by the EtherDelta Hacker, and there was the Ethereum Hard Fork, and the Ether Classic Left Behind and People still to this Day Trade Ether Classic. What Happened was that on the Ether Classic Chain, if Your Coins had been Hacked You Lost them, but they would be on the New Ethereum Chain which went back in Time. But many People had their Coins Still, so they kept using Ether Classic, and it became the Secondary Blockchain even though it is the Original Ethereum. Now the "REAL" Ethereum is the New Ethereum Blockchain, not Ether Classic.

Now, I'm just Wondering if anyone has a Good list of Ether Clones and Forks.

Here is one that has been around for a While called EXP
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5146098.0

I remember that one from before, and I know there is one called Ether Zero with no Gas Fees.

I will be making my Own Eventually, and I am just looking for all the ones that exist. What we will be doing is making one for Texans to Publish Smart Contracts. It will be a Texas based Ethereum Clone. And we already have a Token that is the Start of Everything, and we intend to have Several Tokens on Several Blockchains, including one on the Ethereum Blockchain, as well as the Clone of the Entire Blockchain so that we have our own Token on Ethereum and our own Blockchain like Ethereum.

Here is how to Clone Ethereum for anyone that wants to know:

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

This is the first time in a really long time that I've seen someone that is interested in ethereum clones. As far as I know, Ethereum clones no longer get attention anymore even the famous ethereum classic is widely neglected these days which intrigued by your mission about creating an ethereum clone because I know for a fact that recent developments related to ethereum are only geared at scaling ethereum. Well, Goodluck in your pursuit. Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping track of all confirmed ethereum clones in recent years.

There are indeed lots of other altcoins that could potentially outperform ethereum but right now ethereum is still the second highest cryptocurrency and until that is changed we can not say that it is being ignored or neglected. A lot of investors are still very much interested and are using ethereum as one of their sources of income.

Well, Goodluck in your pursuit.

While I think ethereum still has more to itself, clones in general face a lot of challenges. One being not having much users. Most people would just prefer to use the original version instead of a ‘copy’ of it. It might also face some more security concerns which again is not very attractive to investors.

ETH is more than a single coin. It's not simply Ethereum, it's also all the dozens of L2 cryptos that use the power of ETH to secure their blockchains. Bridging has made EVM compatible crypto a whole ecosystem.  Perhaps the reason there are fewer clones are that instead of something totally new, the people created a L2 that still ties into the ETH network while doing things different than ETH.

However the barrier to entry is low for a clone or fork, if a person or group feels like they have a better solution then go ahead. The community will decide if it succeeds or not.

Who wants to think about Ethereum clones in 2024. There may have been a time when these clone got attention but in current time most of them are struggling to stay afloat. Ethereum ecosystem has another ecosystem of L2 solution provider. With the recent Duncan upgrade the later 2 ecosystem is going to get much bigger. Above all the narrative of the market is no longer utility but meme coins. Even when Bitcoin is dragging the market into red some shitcoins are still in green.

Exactly my thoughts, the fact that Ethereum is still the top ranked altcoin, that means it is still attracting more investors because, the position of the top altcoins has been changing for some years now and since 2019 Ethereum when Ethereum took the lead from XRP it has been the top altcoins and currently, no other altcoins is even close to half of the market cap of Ethereum, and that means for now, there is no potential altcoins that can take the position of Ethereum being the top ranked altcoin.

Even the main Ethereum Blockchain is not making me happy and you are bringing the clone version of Ethereum. Though I don't know if the clone version network is not congested and I am not ready to even invest in Ethereum again because of what happening to the Economy. When my country economy stable then I can invest more in it. Right now I am also on the losing side on my bitcoin investment because my country economy is appreciating while dollar is depreciating. Ethereum has been standing for $3.3+k for a very long time now and it is not moving while bitcoin has been moving up and down for the past few days.

It is good to invest in other upcoming coins now than Ethereum because if you do now you will be at the losing side of the Ethereum investment.

Cloning won't do anymore when investors have got a lot of choices to pick from all of these projects that can do the same as Ethereum. But as long as the name of Ethereum itself is attached to any of them, they will sound as a good one.

With the recent Duncan upgrade the later 2 ecosystem is going to get much bigger.
I think that the name was "Dencun" and not Duncan.

Above all the narrative of the market is no longer utility but meme coins.
That's true but it won't last and it will be changed eventually.

Even when Bitcoin is dragging the market into red some shitcoins are still in green.
Sometimes they're directly proportional but there are moments that they are not.

But literally speaking, ETH is also a clone of bitcoin, right? That's why Ethereum belongs to altcoins, or being a clone of the king in cryptocurrency. It's just that Ethereum became popular and enjoyed by the crypto community, so it was called the next Bitcoin.

But you're right, the Ethereum clones didn't get the attention of the majority community to devote time to this field of crypto business and even preceded other crypto's to be recognized in the industry we live in today, and other meme coins have even surpassed them.

Most people would just prefer to use the original version instead of a ‘copy’ of it. It might also face some more security concerns which again is not very attractive to investors.

Read the Link in the Original Post "The Argument for Cloning Ethereum".

Basically, the Reason You would want to Clone Ethereum would be so that You could Clone Smart Contracts that exist on the Ethereum Clone, and make them Cheaper and more Accessible to People Near You. You wouldn't make an Ethereum Clone and make it "Better", I see where You might be Right in some ways because in the Past the whole Thing was "No one should make Regular Clones of Ethereum, any Clones should have Changes to the Code", hence, Ether Zero and Other Clones that included Changes to the Blockchain in ways that were making a kind of New Thing.

What I am suggesting is that we make just the same Thing as Ethereum, but make it Local. We could call this the Justin Sun, TRX, Model. That is what TRON kind of Started as, it was an Ethereum Clone, and First it was actually an Ethereum Token. TRON was an Ethereum Token, and it grew, so they made it an Ethereum Clone, but they used Java so it was Easier for Everyone, then they made instead of Miners, Super Reps (SRs). So Tron is a Famous Ethereum Clone that worked out and the whole World knows about TRON, Especially in the Spanish Speaking World, TRX is all over the Place, like Binance.

So what You would want to do is like that, the same way You can Copy Smart Contracts from Ethereum to Tron Chain, You want the Smart Contracts to go on Your Ethereum Clone. Then You would want to get Everyone in Your Region to Start Mining it, and Buying it to use, You would want Local Kids to Learn about it from their Friends at School and Things, and in 10-15 Years You might be something like the Biggest Company in Town, ingrained in all the Schools and Local Finances.

So there is Plenty of Reason to make Your Own. Though it would be Hard to Beat ETH, I don't think that should be anyone's Goal. Everyone should just be making ETH Clones because Gas Prices are too High for New Users. So... Let's Start our own Local Chain. That is basically the Reason. And we kind of then say that ETH is Sophisticated Enough and we do NOT need to make Changes. And Clone it.

I will be when I can. I already have Tested it. But I need Better WiFi and Things, and a Mining Pool First.

No, ETH is not a Clone of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is SHA
Litecoin is Scrypt
ETH is DAG (Dagger Hashimoto)

And there are Others. Kind of a lot of Others now.

I guess not a lot of People even know of any Ethereum Clones, that's what this Thread is saying if anyone Reads this in the Future. I will be Introducing a Texas Based Ethereum Clone, so that will exist in the Future, but as of now, no one has any to List. Except EXP, and it has Switched to FrankoHash, it is not an ETH Clone anymore. But it might still be kind of like ETH, I am not sure what the Dev Changed.

This is just I guess an Untouched Subject. It used to be that there were a Few, and People would say like "The ones that are the same as Ethereum won't Work" and were counting on Things like ETH Zero to Compete with Ethereum. But now, we are in a Place where Cloning Ethereum is as Good as making a New one, because no one did any of it Right, and all You have to do is make one for Your State or Nation, or University, or Religion.

There could be Catholic Chain, and it could be an Ethereum Clone that is exactly the same as Etheruem, but Literature is made and Constantly Mailed out to Catholic Churches using 501(c)(3) Postage. And that Catholic Chain would Probably be Better than EXP.

Just because it is based on something that actually exists.

Polygon and Avalanche, I think those are ETH Based.

Please do some research before coming into any conclusion. Polygon is a layer 2 solution for Ethereum blockchain. Avalanche is another blockchain similar like Ethereum. AVAX is the native coin that fuels the Avalanche blockchain. It is considered a good project because it fast and doesn't have scalability issues.
