What if everything was in the open:

Person A +2 million
Person B -2 million

Person B claims to have been robbed for 2 million,

Do you believe Person A is in trouble ?
I don't think it's that simple in presenting the problem that the OP is trying to convey, things like what you said can be overcome easily if the case is like that, and to anticipate this problem is not to share how much bitcoin we have then store bitcoin with strict security, only you know where you store your seed pharse, that's enough, especially if you use a Multi Sig Wallet you don't need to be afraid of that kind of thing.

After all, cases like the one you described can be read, however, transactions on the blockchain can be traced and where the bitcoin is going, so you don't need to be afraid, but if someone has the intention of cheating you, you certainly have to know how the blockchain works.

Owning Bitcoin means you must take full responsibility for it. You can't say it to many people because you don't know who is sincere towards you. By storing your Bitcoins carefully, you have protected your Bitcoins from bad people who want to steal them.
You have the right to stop people not to have access to your BTC by creating a solid password to all your laptops and phones, that will prevent people not to see your wallet which nobody can touch the BTC apart from only you, And, you still have the right to allow people to have access to your BTC by showing them all your details, they can use to withdraw your BTC from your wallet without your permission.

Currently, the price of Bitcoin can make people curious and want to own it. Store your Bitcoins in a place completely protected from people you don't trust.
Especially, this price that hit $73k last month that made the price to break record as the highest price investors have ever experienced from cryptocurrency, and it has made many people to prepare for the upcoming bear season so that they can use the money they save to buy and hodl for the bull run to occur before they can sell to earn from the market again.

I completely agree with you mate, you should not brag about anything, in general, but in this case, bragging about bitcoin could be dangerous

It's not that simple: if someone, somehow, discovers that you own many bitcoins, and this person is a criminal, there are many ways for him to get his hands on your bitcoins without the need to know your passphrase, password, pin, or whatever. And once he convinces you somehow to make the transaction then you lost everything, there is no way to get them back. So what you're saying is true in an anonymous environment, if someone knows who you are then everything changes.

The situation is quite bad in my country. We even can't share that we are related to crypto because cryptocurrency is illegal in my country. So there is no question about sharing our holdings with anyone else. However, personally, I don't share, even with my nearest friends, how much I hold. I like to maintain maximum privacy when it's related to cryptocurrency. I just believe in myself and my family. But my family also doesn't know how much I am holding right now; they just know I am involved with cryptocurrency.

Sharing your Bitcoin success could attract unwanted attention and potential risks. Using multi-sig setups and safeguarding your seed phrase can enhance security and protect your assets. Remember, discretion is key to safeguarding your Bitcoin holdings.

I don't even see a good reason why we have to share our crypto portfolio with people we know or we don't know.
It is better we stay focused and do things in a way that is mature and can help us to make more money from the market. Some people would want to show themselves that they have huge amount of funds in their portfolio which can attract more followers and fans on social media. This would not be the kind of lifestyle we must emulate because it can be risky and can attract hackers to starts tracing Al our transactions if they eventually know our wallet address or send virus inform of files to us which can compromise the wallet that contents the crypto portfolio.

At least leave your loved ones a way to get into your wallets if something happens to you. Because being involved in crypto doesn't really leave much of a trail to follow if they would want to find that crypto.

I had a friend who died near the end of bear run. His wallets didn't have anything because he sold everything before he died, but he was hc dex user and treaded lots of nfts, and i know that his wallets would have been eligible for airdrops that were worth a small fortune. Sadly no one of his closest friends seem to care enough to inform his family, because it's not real money to them.

That's the thing with maximum privacy. Everything most likely will go with us when it's our time.

While I agree that everybody should just keep to themselves how much Bitcoin they own, if somebody is held at gunpoint or at knifepoint, it doesn't anymore matter which wallet you're using, or whether it is multi-sig or not, or whether you have a copy of your seed phrase or some other backup. It's either your life or you cough up those information.

Perhaps it will help if your coins are stored in different wallets. If such a thing happens, God forbid, you will give the information of only one wallet.

It would be a very rare incident for criminals to start asking if you have some coin in your wallet and i don't think bitcoin has become that famous yet for robbers to have such intrest in it, but thei would be possible if the person must have told someone and the information leaked, so i don't believe a robber would just assume I have some bitcoin in my wallet unless he checked my phone and saw an exchange there or wallet he recognised and its also possible I don't have any on my phone too.

Many experts believe Bitcoin's surge to over $72,000 is just the beginning of its potential growth. Investors may also see this surge as a validation of Bitcoin's potential as a long-term store of value. It is important you do not brag about success. Don’t share how much you have with others. This should be obvious, but there are people that may not be so excited for you. They may tell their friends, and sooner or later someone who you don’t know, who may have the capacity for violence, may decide you are an appetizing target. This is yet another reason to use a multi-sig setup. Even if someone obtained 1 of 3 keys, they cannot steal your Bitcoin. Concurrently, your Bitcoin can be backed up. If you lose your Bitcoin you can literally just magically get it back if you have back up, that's because your Bitcoin is stored on the blockchain. If you have a copy of your "seed phrase" you can regain access to all your Bitcoin no matter which wallet you use. Don't go blabbing your mouth to everyone about your Bitcoin stack.

How many times have I seen someone like that bragging on this forum about how many bitcoins they have, even though no one asked? I don't know what reason they have for doing that, even though we know that such an attitude will not bring anything good. We need what we have.

Because most bitcoin holders don't brag about how much they hold, maybe those who brag are the ones who really have nothing to brag about and don't really have any bitcoins that we don't know about in real life. .

As far as I know, there is no need to use multiple wallets if you store the keys of a wallet well if you don't give anyone any information about how many bitcoins you have then no one will find access to it. Many times there is a possibility of losing the private keys for using multiple wallets so it is necessary to proceed very consciously and this information about how many bitcoins there are in the wallet cannot be shared with anyone.

If you are held at gun or knife point for your bitcoin, it is because someone has found out you have bitcoin, another very important reason why you must never discuss it.
maybe better choose whom to discuss the Bitcoin thing because each time we tackle crypto(not just bitcoin)  we are either luring them to be investors and supporters or to plan taking our funds ,
there is 2 different type of people in the world ,the 1st is to follow and the other one is to unfollow, we wanted people around us to experience crypto and of course to help the growth of this market but we cannot please everyone here.

It is important you do not brag about success. Don’t share how much you have with others.
Bitcoin investors who tell other people how much their Bitcoin is worth don't know the basics of why they invest in Bitcoin because you should be able to hide it so that other people won't know how rich you are.
I don't even believe it when someone dares to tell me how much Bitcoin they have, because showing off what they have is a stupid action that influencers or famous people usually do to get more followers, the same as traders who show off their results so that someone will believe and be his followers even though what is shown is not completely true because in fact there are bad results that he is hiding.
It would be best to never even tell anyone other than those closest to you, a partner or a relative you trust that you are a Bitcoin investor.

This is I think one reason why we don't put one egg at the same basket because given that we are held at gunpoint we are not giving them the main wallet we have, and instead give them the decoy wallet that we can afford to lose for that specific purpose as we all know things will just ran fast as most of these cases, bad guys only wanted your money. But as long as we are low key I think it won't attract anyone's attention not unless we shared assets related posts on social media as life update which most people do. 😅✌️

maybe better choose whom to discuss the Bitcoin thing because each time we tackle crypto(not just bitcoin)  we are either luring them to be investors and supporters or to plan taking our funds
To be honest even your closest friends can not be trusted. Yes you might trust them with everything and tell them about anything but you never know how a person can act around money. People are inherently greedy and with how hard everyone's lives nowadays, who is to say no one will be willing to break some friendships over some free money ?

Because most bitcoin holders don't brag about how much they hold, maybe those who brag are the ones who really have nothing to brag about and don't really have any bitcoins that we don't know about in real life. .

I see no reason why someone will brag about there Bitcoin investment because it doesn't make any sense, however if I may asked is he the only one that has Bitcoin that he would brag?, well for me I see those who brag as people that just want to show off for people to see that they have a certain amount of Bitcoin on there possession forgetting that they could actually exposed themselves to harm, so actually there is no need to brag because if they feel that they have Bitcoin there are so many people who has a lot compare to there own.

The contents of the wallet are easier for other people to know because the wallet is public even though the person does not know who owns the wallet. However, from what you have said, it is true that anyone who owns a wallet that already contains more Bitcoins must be able to guard their private keys very well. Because wallet theft crimes usually occur when the owner of the wallet is negligent in keeping his private key or has shared it with another party even though that party is someone he knows very well.

It's best to keep it private if you're a Bitcoin investor, and don't tell anyone how many Bitcoins you have. When someone else hears about your bitcoins, it can be seen that they can try to harm you in many ways. Because you own bitcoins, you own at least a good chunk of money. It will try to get away from you and not hesitate to harm you, so it is best always to maintain secrecy.

Bitcoin has gained massive adoption and you still dont think there are a lot of online criminals who is aware of BItcoin theft pattern. You better dont meet this people because they are smart, intelligent and tech savvy. There nature of being cunny make them to be smart enough not to ask there victim if they have any Bitcoin in there wallet. What they do is that they will manipulate you by talking about Bitcoin if you show your interest there is a way they will find out that you own some Bitcoin through mere conversation. Once they are sure that is when they will start finding a way to steal from you.

Well said. We need to be security conscious in all dealings, both on some sites and physically with others. I do not believe carrying the ideology of "People do not wish best for you", security conscious about our wallet, seed phrase are important factors that must be taken into consideration and should not be bound because of "People" hate mentality. Besides,it is one who keeps a thief as a friend that is always afraid of the unforeseen event.
