Democracy in Nigeria

Nigeria is one country that are so civilised to the extend that military rule is now like a purnishment to them.They have been under a government where everything looked rigid,people who were supposed to be of help were shying away because military rule was the only thing they obeyed.But now,things have changed, people now do what pleases them and forget about the the regime they are under.
The military government was so rigid to the extent that nobody wanted it anymore,and nomatter how corrupt people seem to be now they still prefer the civilian rule than that of the military government,.

Nigeria is not civilian because of democracy,  most of the things you see in out country today was built by the military regime,  no Democratic presidents has done what the military did in this country. The military may look wicked but to me is the best for this country with multi languages,  is only the military that can control the nation,  they also checkmates our behaviour as people,  you don't just insult people or leaders just as the way we insult our leaders today, all in the name of freedom of speech. Corrupt leaders will make you think that military rule is bad, but we forget that is the individual in government that determine the affairs. Some military rulers did very well, while some did bad. Whether democracy or military when a good leader is in charge things become fair for the people.

Military rule is a good mechanism which can be a strong stand against corruption which is present under the mask of democracy by corrupt individuals. In the military regime of different countries in the past, you will see how they take measures against the corrupt. The confidence of the common people of Nigeria has always been upheld in this force in keeping with the democratic system. Basically, there is a severe lack of a qualified democratic leader in our country who will work for the common people and alleviate poverty. Even his own party will build a strong resistance against the corrupt.

It really amase me when we say that Nigeria is a democratic nation. if u look at what is happening in Nigeria, u will see that power belong to the leaders instead of the people, the masses are voiceless.
The leaders are supposed to be the servant of the people and not the other way round .whenever the government come up with any policy that is not favourable to the well fare of the people, if the masses should protest against it the leaders will see it as a propaganda by their political opponent and they begin to issue treats and warning to the people there by trying to enslave the will of the masses.
The democracy that is been practiced in Nigeria is democracy in form of oligarchy, were power belong to few privileged and powerful people. This people are there to represent their own selfish interest and not that of the people that voted them in.

we have no leaders what will have is power belongs to their selves not the citizens, if you check very well we voted them and we the citizens we labourd for them as well. But we got nothing in return what they do is for them to help their own families and relatives but what about we the citizens, there is no democracy the power belongs to the leaders not we that needed it most. I always say that the people we call our leaders are only leading their selves not we because it has gotten to the point that nothing is working in the nation, so let the citizens try to move on without believing that we got people leading us. That's for me.

You are definitely right, we don't have much good leaders in Nigeria all we have is more greedy politicians that campaign during election period with fake promises and turn chameleon went they get into strategic positions then start looting public funds, Nigeria is gradually becoming a failed nation if not failed already.

 Democracy which is government of the people, for the people and by the people has turned into government of the kabals for the kabals and by the kabals, they are the ones controlling who rules and when and that's why president Tinibu before the elections claimed it was his turned at it happened before everyone like a movie.

 Our country has turned into a lawless country where the rich especially those with government positions do whatever they which and get away with it, they steal public funds meant for development and payment of public workers and go scot-free with anyone being able to hold them responsible.

Military regime might be an interim government that can help salvage the current Maladministration happening in the country and what Senator Ali Ndume called Kakistocracy. Funnily enough, the same senator was pulled out of his position as a chief whip of the senate to show you how deminishing our democracy is. A country where you cannot speak true to power. I wonder what freedom of speech means in the Nigerian context when even a senator in the ruling party can't challenge the status quo.

But in Nigeria of today, I don't think military regime can be sustained because even the military seems to be very corrupt as officers of the army have been constantly reported to sabotage the efforts of others through the leak of  security intelligence details to criminals before launching attacks as well as the case of arms deal looting and so on. The fear in military takeovers is that who is going to lead and what will be their interests? Will they be leading on the basis of salvaging the current economic and security issues in the country or they will be leading towards enriching their pockets.

The situation is getting worst, and the people will soon revolt that was  what senator Ndume was trying to tell the senate president that Nigerians are suffering too much and if they do not solve the problem of high rate  of goods in the market the people will protest against  the government and they sack him from the party, that is to show how wicked our leaders are, they want to keep the whole nation in hostage, they have no plan for the future, they want to impoverish  the people so they will keep controlling us. no matter what they do to Senator Ndume. he has shown that his is not a push and start senator, the people will keep supporting him regardless.
