I you have a Hard 12 card  while the dealer has 6 on open card. What will you do on this situation? Hit, Stand or Cashout with 20% loss.


There’s no wrong or correct answer here, the idea is to gather information on how gambler behaves on this situation because there’s still a lot of player that choosing different answer even though there’s a blackjack strategy table so I become curious on what they are thinking for coming up to that decision.

Note:Blackjack strategy table is not allowed to use as reference to your explanation. Be honest because no one can criticize your decision.

Not a blackjack fan here but I played it many times when I get bored with slots and if you ask me how to play blackjack, there is only one answer.
I will always do hit when my card is still between 12-14 no matter the opened card of the dealer.
Of course I do it with small bet only because I play blackjack for fun only, so I have no worries about the possible result.
The confusing situation for me when playing blackjack is when my card is 15-16 no matter what is the card of the dealer.
In this situation I use my feeling whether to hit or stand.

Blackjack is my favorite card game to play. When I play it, I don't have a permanent strategy; it's often just a gut feeling or intuition. I only really consider two options: either hit or stand. I don't pay attention to splitting or doubling down. I didn't even know there was a cashout with loss option; I've never encountered that in the casinos I've played at before.

Back to the discussion, for me, it's a tough call. The gambler in me might be tempted to hit, hoping for a card that doesn't bust my hand but significantly improves it. Maybe I could do that in the early bets or when I'm just starting my session, but later on, I'm making the decision that feels right for me at the moment.

In my case (I'm not a blackjack expert either), attending to my cautious way of being, I think that I would lose that 20% to avoid losing the remaining 80%. I suppose that, during the game, I would be tempted and not necessarily follow the reasonable solution of cashing out, but if you ask me "in cold", that's what I think I would do in that case.

This opinion of yours is what I really like to read because it’s genuine. I knew it’s real because other users that I play with do the same gameplay.

What’s your reason for hitting on 12-14 if dealer is on 6 or below? Do you want to have a better hand when you stand so that you will not rely solely on dealers bust!

Normally, you should stand on this if the dealer card is not A,7-10 because you have a higher chance to be bust. But if cashout is available then go for it. Stand if dealer have a bad hand same as you so that you will give to them the risk of being bust.

In this situation, i'll go for the hit in hopes of getting at least a 5-9 even though I could get fucked over by a 10 or a face card.

If it's a live blackjack table, my decision sometimes depends on what the player beside me gets after they hit because there could be a pattern like the dealer suddenly handing out low cards.

Cashing out is always never an option for me, maybe the only time i'd use this is if I misclick the chips (betsize) that I placed and couldn't adjust it in time.

It depends on the cards available in the table. I usually hit this if there’s only few small number cards in the table because there’s a high chance that the dealer will hit those low cards or the other card of the dealer is low card too which makes his total below 12 or better.

But most of the time I choose stand because 6 is always the best card for players sake that dealer should have because there’s a high chance that dealer will bust. But I experienced a lot of times that the dealer gets 21 or 20 even with 16 initial hands. I get this result frequently on any live blackjack exclusive table that makes me always hit the 12 or less.

12 card is always a sucker for me. Too low to stand but I keep standing due to fear on bust.

I am an occasional blackjack player. I usually play it on Stake when I get bored of dices.
I have in this situation before, where I start ahead of the foe and I need to make such decision. I would probably hit and see if I could a higher number closer to 21, since I personally feel the other party would be in advantage over me,  they would certainly try to hit.
I am not the kind of person who goes outside of the round with an anticipated loss, I prefer to go to the end and see if I can still win over the the disadvantageous situation I would be from the beginning.

I would be likely to stand as soon as I get a 16-18, that is a number I feel comfortable of before stopping and see if luck is on my side.

I will rather hit or stand, knowing that in which ever decision i made, i still have the same chances of either loosing or winning, but when i go with what my mind says, i will be satisfied and fulfilled not minding whether i win or loose as the case may be, i can sometimes decides on using any strategy in gambling while on blackjack, but those we uses are the ones that we feels best satisfy our desires and we think have the desire luck we could get in it.

My basic principle is minimizing the loss when it comes to risk so I choose to cash out early with a 20% loss instead of taking the risk and going for a complete bust even though after realizing that the dealer has the better probability of winning.

Usually, gamblers will go with their institutions and if I feel that it's my lucky day and others already cashed out then it increases the probability on my side then I go for it but most likely I will choose the safer option unless until I am feeling lucky.

I’m using this method and this is the common strategy nowadays of blackjack players once card counting is not possible anymore determine the full scope of the remaining card on the thread. Reading all the cards available and what’s the current cards given on hits can give you an idea on what comes next since we all know that there’s only big and small cards on the deck.

Cashing out is always never an option for me, maybe the only time i'd use this is if I misclick the chips (betsize) that I placed and couldn't adjust it in time.

You will find cashout handy if you bet huge amount. It helps me to secure profit or cut-loss if I’m betting as a high roller in Blackjack. Cashout is totally useless if you are just betting with small amount.

for me i will follow the basic blackjack strategy which is stand on hard 12 againts a 6 because there are around 40~42% that the dealer will bust with that hand.

I decided to update the topic to add a discussion part for blackjack since my old blackjack thread for discussion is already not active. Let’s use this thread to discuss and share blackjack experience.


I want to share my recent almost disastrous bet that turns out to a huge win. I have 3 seat when playing this specific hand and got a hard 19 on my hand. Due to my excitement for my 3rd seat which is 11, I double down on my hand with 19 card. Luckily I hit freakin 2 that makes my card hard 21.

This is so intense because I bet 100$ while I almost lost 200$ on this double down if I didn’t got the 2 card. You will know that you are really lucky for that day if you can survive  a disastrous decision like this.

Basic Strategy: Requires you to stand
Advantage Player: Depends on the count, If the count on really high minus count you should hit it because the high card is already out. Anyway hitting on (12) are not really bad at all, but just make sure while you want to do something different in the table. You are playing alone, not with other people because once you messed up something other people in table are gonna be mad.

Not gonna lie, This is always so trivial to me especially those hardcore fuckin thrill seeker that hit at 15 and 16 while the dealer is 6. Hitting on 12 is really understandable because there’s a lot of room for not hitting 10 but 15 and 16 is a suicide.

I’m always encountering players like when playing on table with low minimum bet. This is the reason why I always preferred to play on VIP or exclusive table because a user that doesn’t know how to play always destroy my game especially when I’m on streak. Sometimes new player join my table just to do this kind of dumb hit just to ruined the game of everyone.
