Base on certain things people being scammed is because of ignorance of not having knowledge or not being having a mentor in the business and most people fall in the hands of scammers is a function of greed.
Yeah obviously there is no doubt about that, it's 100% greed that makes a person fall into a scam because scammers, most of the time, lure their targets by offering them great returns or ways to earn a lot of money and they show them things that make the victims more greedy and they feel like they are going to become rich finally, instead of thinking that there is no free lunch in this world and there is always a price for anything you do, if it was this easy to earn money, everyone would have been rich today. However, a person loses the ability to think critically in such situations because their greed makes them blind, all they can think about is their bright future that they see in front of their eyes after the sweet dreams the scammers had shown them, and they don't think twice before doing everything the scammer asks them to do only to realize at the end that the only dreams that were going to come true were of the scammer's.

I disagree with the vibe of the op because I think victim-blaming is generally a bad practice. It's easy to criticize in hindsight, and it's natural to blame the victims because we want to think that we're doing something better and that's why we won't become such victims. But ultimately, the victims are just that, victims. They should not be blamed for what happened to them, and both legal and moral blame is on the scammers. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to educate ourselves, be careful with our finances and aware of scammers. But everyone makes mistakes, and it's a part of life. Not everyone, however, chooses to prey on vulnerable people and steal their money one way or another.

Who Is Really At Fault? Have you noticed that whenever someone complain or there is an incident of scam they is always a role that was played by the person in that happening, either they failed to be security conscious or they were totally ignorant, and when you look at it the scammer never forced them to comply, this people willingly fell for their trick (Now to be clear I'm not saying scammers are right or saints, I'm pointing to the fact that we are responsible for ourselves, so enough of that shitty excuse, yeah the Internet would be a safer place without scammers but there are here, so deal with it)There are lots of crypto investors that are well educated, have a good job and a higher level of exposure than even most scammers, but they chose to enter into the crypto space irresponsibly and they inevitably get scammed and at times lose huge sums of money or even life savings. Last bull run there was this Elon musk swap scam that was on and someone lost 10 bitcoins to it and even other cases where people have gotten scam through crypto ads or crypto exchanges that shut down and all this would have been prevented in a way.
For me the question should be: Am I getting that money in a fair and legal way? There are different types of scams, and I think there is a difference if you willingly decide to buy some shitcoins on the DeFi, because I think you know exactly what you are doing, or, for example, if you're not an expert and you click some link to "update your wallet" or something like that and you lose everything. If we start blaming the victims because "they were ignorant" then we should also accept many other types of crime: they stole your car? Well, you parked on the street, get a garage! They stole your watch? Well, if you can't take care of it while you walk it's on you. You have squatters at your place? Why did you leave? You see where we're going?

A first or maybe second experience having survived a scam should be enough reason for the victim to sit and think of the lessons to learn from such. Scammers usually sweet talk or say things we may like to hear in reality and once they have gotten your attention without your prior notice, it becomes difficult to pin point how they got a hold of ones account details. I'm addition to doing proper research on the best practices to abide by, one should also endeavor to be very intentional when going online to do any transactions or withdrawal.

I understand the sentiment that people should be more careful with their crypto investments. However, scammers exploit that carelessness in manipulative ways. They impersonate companies and influencers, smooth-talk vulnerable targets in online spaces. Essentially, they disguise themselves as trustworthy sources. While personal responsibility matters the blame lies squarely on these wolves in sheep's clothing who lurk, waiting to take advantage and carelessness may open the door, but scammers choose to step through it to harm others. So, I disagree with the OP about blaming only the victim, too.

We need to realize that in this case when there is an act of fraud or theft then it is definitely not only because of the bad intentions of a fraudster who only wants in a bad way but it also happens because there is an opportunity that they have to be able to break into the assets that we have because of negligence which is always our main problem . We cant say that fraudsters are not wrong considering that they are criminals for stealing goods or assets that are not their rights and that is a bad act but we also cant blame others alone in this case bcause if we are entangled in the tricks that criminals do and feel our assets change hands without any remainder then we ourselves must introspect that indeed we are also not free from mistakes because it is we who are careless who provide opportunities for fraudsters to carry out their actions .

Yeah they played a big role in fooling you and also held your hands and forces you to send your bitcoin to them, then you go around screaming I was scammed, doesn't that sound lame to you, the truth is that your were ignorant, careless and failed to be security conscious, yeah your so busy crying out for decentralization and most you don't know what that really means, you in fucking control, no one is responsible for you but yourself, and scammers know that and that's why they exploit the shit out of you, if it's so fun been ignorant your free and can continue blaming the mirror for showing you how ugly you are than applying some make up.
If more people realise that decentralized systems isn't like a banking or centralized system were you can go and report a transaction and they seize the persons money or track the person( although its possible if they are not smart enough) then you would be more careful when doing deals here. They target stupid people and they also target people who are not careful, these two things will become the basis for how they can cheat in a more elegant way. That is why our involvement here needs to look at the level of security planned by each individual using existing assistance. Being anonymous, as most people say, will be much safer for anyone involved in it because sometimes we are not aware that people with malicious intent are monitoring us and they will look for loopholes to cheat on the basis of carelessness. Transactions must be carried out carefully and always pay attention to the level of security, otherwise the risks that will occur will be the responsibility of the individual. Decentralization also requires security that is monitored by the individuals involved, even though this system is different from existing systems. Negligence will make people feel how small and big the fraud is and it can happen to anyone who is not careful.

There will be no greater heights than winning in all round crypto sector. Don't ever place or find somewhere to depend because the market is always coming to us and we ought to be careful because we're starting to anticipate in the system. Crypto traders and investors should be extremely careful when dealing with the market because it comes with huge surprises on our faces. Blaming fraudsters won't solve anything, rather it will complicates everything and we'll be remained dormant.

Just know that scammers are very intelligent, there are many ways to scam people, and that is why sometimes if someone gets scammed, I don't normally blame them too much. Another reason people get scammed in this crypto space is that the crypto space is very large, there are many ways to make money from crypto, so some scammers use this excuse to scam people, and one thing about this is that both knowledgeable and uninformed people fall victim to getting scammed. Just that people with the knowledge are kind of limited when it comes to getting scammed, so now when the thing is that we should have the knowledge of where we want to put our money so that even another stranger comes from nowhere claiming to tell you about something like that, you will find a way to deal with that without much stress, but if you do not have the knowledge, that is where they will easily scam you. There are lots of crypto investors that are well educated, have a good job and a higher level of exposure than even most scammers, but they chose to enter into the crypto space irresponsibly and they inevitably get scammed and at times lose huge sums of money or even life savings. Last bull run there was this Elon musk swap scam that was on and someone lost 10 bitcoins to it and even other cases where people have gotten scam through crypto ads or crypto exchanges that shut down and all this would have been prevented in a way.
This is because the crypto space is an open place where everybody can come in and do what they wish to do. It is just that you will be the one to be in charge of your funds; everything is at your own risk, and most times those rich people lose more in crypto because they can invest in it, and they won't have much time to study it looking at the market movement because they are busy doing other things out there. However, for the shutting down of exchanges, I will not blame investors. If an exchange gets a problem and shuts down, I think the problem is not from them; it should be from the exchange. Although we are investors, we just have to be careful with where we are saving our funds.

Victim blaming is not a good thing my friend, sure they have lapses, and in the case of these people who get defrauded they may have done something that lead up to that moment, or not have done something in their part to better protect themselves against these threats but at the end of the day, these are profiteers who make money out of other people's misfortune, and are literally out there waiting for you to make that mistake that would fatten up their paycheck.
There are even certain instances, and this is beyond the crypto scene but remains relatively relevant for me, where scammers wouldn't discriminate with their victims, people who are disadvantaged and down on their lucks, hell, even elderly people and there are a lot of evidences in the internet to show for it, that some scammers particularly target the elderly thinking they're less versed in the ways of the internet and are easily to dupe. In those cases, would you still have the gall to blame the happenstance towards the victims?
If I were you I'd rethink this and be more empathetic, you can't attribute to malice what you can attribute to ignorance my friends. None of us out here wish they would get scammed.

We don't need to blame fraudsters because it is our fault for not being careful and looking for more information. If we don't ignore all the important information out there, we will definitely be fine and won't be fooled. These fraudsters really work by deceiving careless people who don't want to look for information before they decide.
Yes, we are the fools who have allowed ourselves to be deceived, even though we know that there are ways to avoid the fraud they commit. That is why we must always be careful in making decisions and not immediately decide on something if we are not sure. Keep looking for more information before deciding.
Really? 'We're the fools'? Have you ever been scammed? It ain't about being a fool. These scammers are out there preying on anyone, and they are slick at what they do. Sayin we shoulda known better is bogus. We gotta teach people how these schemes work and catch the crooks doing them, not just blame folks who got played. I'm just sayin, go easy on calling people fools. Most times they're just naive or inexperienced and it could happen to anybody if you ain't careful. You can say it like that. But if you see how greedy people are when they see an offer, they will immediately be amazed and follow it even though it is a trap from scammers to ensnare people who are not careful. Those scammers will always try to make offers that look as good as being true. Only careful people who always look for other information will not be fooled. So this is about how we try to avoid scammers. We must always be careful, especially when we see a good offer. Always looking for more information about an offer can keep us away from fake offers that continue to be spread by scammers.

There is no reason to blame the investors in this case. The fraudsters are the one committing the crime and should be held responsible for that. These investors are just looking for a legal way to make profits in the crypto industry and the fraudsters are making every attempt to sabotage their efforts. Although, there are instances I will blame the investors especially when they willingly give out their seed phrase to scammers for whatever reason. In the case of rug pulls, exit scams and some other related fraud, investors are innocent and they can't be blame for falling for such scams. It's our own sole responsibility to protect ourselves and be security conscious but some of this scams are not security related but rather on experience. This is why most at times, the victims are often inexperienced investors and fraudsters exploit any weaknesses to strike.

If there are people who fall victim to fraudsters or scammers, it is because of a lack of idea about the methods of exploitative people in this field of crypto space. And I think it's normal for others to experience this because if they can learn from it, that's fine. And there are others who don't wait to experience being victimized; instead, they use the mistakes of others as a lesson so they can avoid such scenarios.

There is no justification for what scammers trying to do in the first place.
Alongside the victim should be blamed too for falling into the pitfalls they have created, it could be avoided if they paid little more attention in most of the cases, so both parties are at the fault.
Some people fall victim to scammers because they are unaware with what they are about to do. There must be a method to deceive anyone, no matter how smart we are. For example, some people are suspicious of whatever they see online, while others believe anything they see on social media. We can be scammed in any way these days since scammers are intelligent, they can use any method to deceive people. So I feel we should blame both parties because the victim believe in something they hadn't seen before or known about. Many people earn a living by scamming people because it is all they can do, they have no other way to get money only scam innocent people. We really need to blamed the fraudsters more since they always take what does not belong to them, they don't care how the innocent people feel when they scam them, they may commit suicide because that's all they have to survive on. When you have complete control over your own money – then you are the main person responsible for keeping it safe from all risks. Cases of lost bitcoin or scam tend to result from user failures, not bitcoins themselves - so it is the users who are to blame, not the bitcoin.
There's lots of advice on recognizing and avoiding fraud - as well as how to make your wallet safe. Many users fail to understand many things in order to keep their investments or money safe without being exposed to risk too often - so really, bitcoin is not to blame for this matter.

// You can say it like that. But if you see how greedy people are when they see an offer, they will immediately be amazed and follow it even though it is a trap from scammers to ensnare people who are not careful. Those scammers will always try to make offers that look as good as being true. Only careful people who always look for other information will not be fooled. I hear what you're saying, but I gotta push back a little on generalizing folks as greedy. Sure, some folks get a bit starry-eyed when they see an offer that seems too good to be true. But those scammers go after all kinds of people - not just the greedy ones. For example, what if you run a legitimate business or engage in trade and the scammers simply don't honor their part of the deal? There's no question of greed involved, just maybe a misplaced trust in people. So maybe we shouldn't be so quick to label people or assume we know their motivations. So this is about how we try to avoid scammers. We must always be careful, especially when we see a good offer. Always looking for more information about an offer can keep us away from fake offers that continue to be spread by scammers.
I agree with that completely.

Nice interaction here.People get scammed everyday in the crypto space and investing platforms. And if you've been scammed before it isn't your fault to feel blamed of ashamed of anything, scammers are originally good at what they do.Anyone can fall for a scam, even the smartest person can fall for a scam.
Mistakes are life lessons, and anyone can make a mistake;also making a mistake is not abominable but making the same mistake over and over again, and that's essentially where the problem lies.In this investment space/crypto,users should exercise safety cautions by securing their personal details thats linked to their financial accounts, people should not get too comfortable when they hear or see huge investment opportunities with large earnings.
Stay vigilant,be comfortable with doing research and findings about the so called investment platforms, educate yourself about scams,safety/preventive measures about it and protect your digital keys or assets.
Remember, if there are no people easily scammed, then there is no scammer. I don't blame the victims, but the thing is, if you will notice and study the cases of those who got scammed, mostly it is because of the lack of information and knowledge of a person. For example, those who are newinformation and knowledge of a person. For example, those who are new in bitcoin and enter right away are sometimes the ones that could easily be deceived, and their assets may be stolen right away, or they could give away their seed phrase as they don't know how to secure it or even know how important a seed phrase is. So if you don't want to be scammed or people taking advantage of your innocence in the crypto world or even in all aspects, then learn how to know the important thing first. It is an instinct that you should always prioritise the safety and security of your assets in order to have a peaceful investment in crypto currency.

I agree with that completely. Don't be too greedy. Because that's the root where many of the folks here in the community becomes a victim of these fraudsters. If there won't be a victim, these fraudsters will decrease in number. But if this is their way of giving food to their family, I hope that karma hits them hard as they don't fight life equally. As for us that are looking into these tricks that they place on us, we need to aware of them so that we won't be their next victim.
