In my life, I have never achieve anything from gambling that I could be proud of. Well, to be honest with, I think your experience is not far different from that of several people in the gambling industry today including myself, and one thing I've actually learned is that it's almost or so impossible to create a savings off money made from gambling, and the reason I can think of at the moment is that, naturally for man, the more money a gambler has at their disposal, they more confident they become, most especially in their gambling decisions, which often will be that the money kept as a saving be invested back to gambling for even bigger and better opportunity to save even more, they usually forget there is no guaranteed winning in gambling, and that they stand a chance of losing all the money back to the casino (and this is usually how it ends many of the time).
