Each hormone acts as a chemical messenger and is aimed at a specific target cell and has no effect on any other cells as it washes past them. When a hormone acts on its specific target cell, it can change the way it behaves to make it perform a specific task.

Hormones exert their influence in very small concentrations; every molecule packs a punch. This is also why endocrine-disrupting chemicals are so dangerous even in tiny amounts.

Of the many hormones in your body, thyroid hormones are perhaps the most important, as they regulate your metabolism and are required for nearly every physiological process in your body. When your thyroid levels are unbalanced, it can spell serious trouble.

An imbalance can lead to significant health issues, including fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, eczema, gum disease and autoimmune disorders, just to name a few. This is because the thyroid impacts various parts of the body, making the symptoms of dysfunction diverse.

those born without full function thyroid or have an imbalance at young age without treatment, grow up with physical issues too. its called cretinism(basically neanderthal) which is known since the days of the ancient greeks (pre christianity) of how neanderphals evolved into modern man due to the evolution and growth of the thyroid gland

its actually the bases of ancient campfire stories/analogies of the adams apple explaining how modern man came into being(from neanderphals)  which became scriptures which become religious, but as the stories got more fantasy-full in olden times, to then mistake/forget about the cavemen aspect before them

All anybody has to do to debunk the idea of prehistoric cavemen, is to look at the many places around the world where people live in caves right now. What they are showing us is that living in caves might be a fun thing, and might have been so throughout all the existence of time, since God made Adam and Eve... about 7,500 years ago.

Whatever the thyroid problems of the original people were, many of those people were able to overcome them. Some of those people lived for almost 1,000 years life-span... during the first 2,500 years of Earth's history. It's only after the great flood of Noah's day (about 5,000 years ago) that the Earth was changed radically enough that health started to be corrupted, and the ancient ages of people started to drop off.

This probably had to do with the shell of water (vapor) around Earth being removed to supply water for the great flood. Since then cosmic radiation has been making its way to the surface, and disrupting the health of all people. Now we barely live to 100 years... and it has been programmed into our genes so that we are having a hard time even figuring out what the changes were that did this to us.
