Only1 has raised $5 million to build an OnlyFans clone on Solana

The adult content platform OnlyFans, to crypto fans, seems like a Web2 company ripe for disruption. The platform charges a 20% fee on all creator earnings, generating billions in revenue for the company. A creator's content, followers, and earnings, though, are locked to the platform, meaning it's tough to leave once you've built a following. Plus, there was that time banks nearly forced OnlyFans to ban all adult content on the platform, according to its CEO.

Enter Only1, which today announced a $1.3 million strategic raise led by Newman Group to create an OnlyFans-type adult content platform on Solana, bringing its total fundraising to $4.8 million. Only1 also teased a slate of creators which will soon be joining the platform with ten million followers shared between them.

Not a first or last time where adult industry has been tried to "revolutionized" and "disrupted" by blockchain. So am highly skeptical. And once again i don't see a purpose for the token. If people would be serious about putting this on solana, they could just build a site and accept solana for payment. Digital collectibles actually seem to be good idea in this, but in no way i can see any purpose or justification for the token. However i like the buyback idea, so i might buy it just in case i didn't fully understand the token mechanics and marketcap seems pretty low.

Rising $5M is also an excellent start.

The Solana blockchain is known for their heavy transaction fees and they've completely deducted fees from the top traders which absolutely don't bother about these fees but the average trader do actually care and show concerns. There's more complex pieces of information to know in the space when it relate crypto. We do our best to push ourselves to record huge earnings in the system. I know how difficult it is for most of us to obtain information and gain profits.

I am shaking my head on why you have missed the same playbook since 2016. They want to develop it on blockchain because they want to create and issue their own tokens and have this ready for the next pump on the cryptospace market and dump them on everyone's faces with our mouths open. I was wondering why people haven't done it yet. It makes every sense for crypto based platform to host a site like what onlyfans is now. When it comes of buying and selling intimate times online, people would prefer privacy and crypto could provide them that. Imagine someone seeing your credit card statement and finding Onlyfans payment. With crypto, things would be more anonymous and in control of creators and viewers. Remember the time when Onlyfans threatened to block adult content. There won't be such problems in decentralized platform. Though regulations could be tough to implement but it's better to look for the middle ground between abiding the law and remaining anonymous when it comes to adult content.

It's just that, it's heavily reliable on other people to make the project successful. What if there are no stars that wanted to try? What if the marketing of the team isn't enough for the project to propel.

I'm not pessimistic with the project, and I love the concept. It's just that, it seems like they're like the other new projects out there that are doing this because the bull run is coming, and they want to ride the hype around the market. Anyway, I'm not a fan of OF to be honest so this will be out of my radar, but if this will turn out to be a successful project, I might throw some money on it. Good luck with the project though.

Adult projects like this once existed when the trend was ICO, the name of the coin if I'm not mistaken is spankcoin and I don't know for sure whether it has survived so far, but what I learned was when there was a cryptocurrency-based project whose type of project was a development of something that already existed before in the real world, crypto-based ones usually don't last long, either because the developers don't have the skills or a good strategy to keep making the project develop better or because basically we prefer conventional things.
If this coin also holds promotions on this forum, such as bounties or signature campaigns, it looks like it will be successful because spankcoin makes bounty participants get big profits.

Lol . I respect your honest shilling. It's refreshing compared to "this pne has real a world use case" and delusional vision about everything needing a blockchain to be relevant. And yeah, it's still the same playbook, but just fancier smart contracts and bigger investors.

I have bought several of these adult entertainement cryptos for short term flip. And never in a million years were expecting adoption. First one was in 2014-2015 i think. It was PoW and mineable. They even hired a porn actor for PR video which was unusual and "professional". I can't find it, but most likely it doesn't exist in anywhere anymore. Like this one when their money runs out.

The fact that you can only raise 1M$ in one day is a big impact and that's a lot of money. Honestly, that's not a joke. Especially if it's 5M$, that's a very good achievement.

You are correct. However, the project that we have witnessed being created on a bull market before might not have a good product market fit. An Onlyfans platform for content creators where they have self custodyof their money might be what this world will need when the next bear market arrives. The meme in I shared in OP is only very popular because it is also very true hehehehe.

The creators of this project might only be taking the hype of the bull market but where it might be useful is during a bear market where much of the people do not have money.
