Hey guys. I was looking for some opinions based on this scan result from Malwarebytes. Is this anything to be worried about? I know that these programs like NHM and Minerstat show up as viruses sometimes.
Apparently they can steal hash rate. I dont mine on this pc anymore so there's no reason to have these anymore.

There is a thing such as false positives, especially with cryptocurrency apps. (Monero GUI wallet gives false positives, for example) but nobody cannot tell you with 100% certainty whether this is false or not. You should always keep your important stuff on an air-gapped device that has no connection to the internet.

Many miners have problems with this. But if you use miners on specialized systems, such as Hive OS, then you are less likely to get problems.
Read this guide:

Major warning when mining new coins!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5483636

I check the rigs with a wattmeter. If the electricity consumption is too high on a standard miner and algorithm, then this is a reason to check.

If you have an evidence or maybe think that there is something wrong with a Miner Software or download from the Forum,
feel free to to write or ask in my Topic for it if you not sure Report Malware and Suspicious Links here so Mods can take Action !
But as goldkingcoiner already have written there are some false positives detections sometimes.

Always do an research befor you download something and install it when it comes to Miner Software.
We got a lot of shady download links in the past with Malware and other things.

There is no way to know for sure. Almost all these executables are known to detect a virus or two whenever you go to virustotal.com

Even legit software produces false positives these days. Sometimes the virus definitions are too sensitive. But when it comes to any miner based software, don’t run it on your home computer. If you got a bunch of rigs with no personal info or private keys then run it on those.

Since it's not an open source we do not know how safe these software is but if you want to monitor your miner  as suggested above HiveOS is better it support almost all mining software with good dashboard.

Or use awesomeminer free but limited to 2 mining rig.

You need to download the software in the official link in the official thread here in Bitcointalk as all miner software that is published here it is audited by many persons who download the software,so if it has a huge thread with lots of pages in this very section of the forum then most likely it is ok to download and to run it.The problem is that different antivirus software especially the build it windows defender just love false positives as long as they see the word miner/crypto in the bat file in Windows or the .exe file of the miner.

In fact I have tried wildrig GPU both in Windows and in Linux and Kaspersky in Windows caught it as a false positive while in Linux nothing happened when I ran the script to start mining,so that Windows OS that still the nastiest OS when it comes to malware  Grin.

AV and crypto mining is a long and complex story. The TlDr version is many AV flag all crypto miners because some malware incluses
hidden cryptominers that run in the background without users' knowledge. This results in many false positives.
Scammers know this so include real malware under the pretense of cryptomining assuming users are conditioned to ignore AV warnings.
Scammers also plagiarize legitimate miners while adding malware.

The result is AV detection is not reliable. Users need to take their own precautions. Open source miners is a start. Download only from
official and trusted sources. Beware of exagerated claims. Treat all mining software as suspicious. Don't mine on the same machine used for
anything important. Monitor for odd behaviour. I could go on.

false positives are reported because of pyinstaller3 or because some parts of miner software open ports and then request connection to external servers or redirect data. if you want to mine new altcoin, it is better to have a separate device and an open source operating system, or to run Windows software using Wine build.

If you download miners from official developer resources, then it is quite safe if the miner is already known and has a reputation. The main problems are with new miners, which are better not to run on your computer.

I have a mining farm under remote control, and even if a virus appears there, I will format the hard drive and set it up again. But when using Hive OS in recent years, I did not need to do this.
