Fight against Yahaya Bello

I don’t know if this will be tagged as a political post but personally I think this thread is worth discussion on the local board without much strings attached.
I haven’t actually followed up this case of yahaya bello but whenever i on my data, there is always a pop up news and story about Bello and all these news lately aren’t good ones for a state like kogi.
Just as I said earlier that, I haven’t actually followed up this news and stories because I’m not actually pleased with Nigeria corruption cases as  I know, most times at the end of the day, the culprits goes scut free but I don’t think it will be an easy one for Yahaya this time as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has taken it upon themselves to bring him to book and explain to also get him explain several gaps in his administration.

For those we don Dey totally missed out on the news, the story na about how former governor of kogi state, Yahaya Belle don misappropriate state funds and story been talk say, him use the money go pay him pikin school fees even for upfront.

All these stories no too vex me but what has provoked me is the fact that these same people wey make them wan probe Bello don even come outside Dey talk say, make them free the man and them Dey even give silly reasons

To be honest I'm so tired of discussing Nigeria politics and it's corrupt practice's, from all the evidence presented Bello should be tried by the Nigeria court and if find guilty should face the law is as simple as that but no corruption won't let the right thing be done in Nigeria.
The Nigerian constitution should be amended there are a lot of loop holes that needs to be corrected.
If only we can do away with high rate of corruption in Nigeria then and only then we can succeed as a nation.

My brother like you naija politics don really tire and this particular one wey I dey hear about this guy na just dey piss me because I can't imagine how a governor go use public funds go use for him pikin school fees the matter just tire me because this one na the core of corruption and the funny thing is that since then dem never still arrest the motherfucker and for what reason?

My personal belief be say no be the only money him "misappropriate" be this, na just the ones wey don come to light. Even if them mend or review the constitution, e no go stop corrupt politicians from stealing public funds for personal interests. I don see video of Bello, him dey unbothered about the entire case and it's just painful to see that things like this has been going on in the country. People we voted into power used it for personal gain.

For the first time, I'm going to applaud the EFCC team — the first time them don go after big time criminals instead of going to schools and filling their buses with students suspected of fraud.

Yahaya Bello is untouchable,Do you know why? The best Efcc can do is to arraign yahaya Bello before a court of jurisdiction. Our judiciary is the most corrupt arms of Government. In the past years,We have seen how the court have been defending this corrupt politicians,thereby frustrating the Fight against corruption.

My advice is to avoid depression forget about naija and doing and focus other things that is given you food or else you won't survive the heat if depression.

First of all, is political discussion forbidden in this our local board? I think there is a board for politics discussion in the general board too. Your first statement is the reason why I am asking this. I see no wrong in discussing about politics here if it's worthy of discussing.

For long before now, I never believe in giving the power to the youths to pilot the affairs of this our great nation and this issue of Yahaya Bello has given me more reason to maintain my stance. Some of this youths are more corrupt than the old politicians whom we see as the enemy of the country but the real enemy are the youths themselves. What we need to clamor for is the visionary leaders and not chanting youths should take over the country.

I have never thought Kogi is that rich that one person can loot such huge amount of money considering how backward the state is. Kogi has the worst state capital in terms of infrastructure and modern development in entire North Central. Let not also forget that this same Bello refused to pay workers salary for several months during his tenure for reasons known to him. It's controversial that majority of Kogi people are even against his arraignment by the EFCC and tagging it political move. You can see how foolish some of are.

Reviewing the constitution is very necessary at this point but majority of those who are responsible for the review will not support that idea because all of them are bed of the same feather. We need law that will allow the execution of this criminals instantly without even trial because the court is one among the enemies slowing down the progress of this our nation. EFCC too is not left out because they are selective in their fight against corruption which is not supposed to be so. The law should grant them the power to carry out their activity independently without interfering and also grant them the authority to execute the culprit. We need critical reforms and harsh approaches to make things right in this part of the world called Nigeria.

DaNNy001, dis story no dey hidden again bec even the school don send prove of payment wey show say yahaya bello use government money pay em children school fees till 2031. Make dis matter no tire anybody because na person wey em own show na em be bad person but I believe say most of the governors and local government charmen dey guilty of the same offense wey dis man commit and if dem wam find out dem go arrest our politicians tire for dis country because all of them na desame no difference. Yahaya Bello is a very serious corrupt politician in Nigeria and those are the people the Nigerian government supposed fight against instead of channeling their strength to exchange that has nothing to do with government funds. Yahaya Bello paid the Login youths to protest for his interest and the youth also did it or support his stealing. He stole #80.2 billions when he was government. Yest they are covering him.

Even though I don't see the EFCC proactive enough as they could have put more pressure on Yahaya Bello in a more sane country where rule of law prevails above the interest or position of individuals especially the elites in the country. It is high time for the government of Nigeria to be responsible, at least for once on anything that has to do with upholding the rule of law and the elimination of corruption in the system. Else, it will always be difficult to hold these people into account which has poised our economy to quagmire.

But whenever organizations like this make some bold efforts, it is our responsibility as citizens to recognize their efforts and applaud them in the little way so as to strengthen their efforts in the fight against corruption. The Nigerian government especially the president, to continue to support these agencies with Goodwill and power to execute their constituted authorities.

Corruption in Nigeria is like a normal thing, this case of Yahaya Bello really surprises me the most because I think law in Nigeria have limit and that is not how it should be done, once it is law it should cover anybody living in that locality both the citizens and the foreigners, but I Nigeria it is only limited to some people, most especially the poor people, and after that the will say they are fighting corruption, I think if some is been accused of any act, the best thing to do is to make yourself public to defined yourself if really you don't do it and even though you did I presenting yourself before the court will even make the judge have messing on you by not stress them in catching or delaying them. Yahaya have make things even worse for himself for not showing up.
