Mind you that when you ask about things like this, people who hodl the coin are going to tell you to keep on hodling, at least it helps the coins performance if more and more people are hodling it.

Dogecoin is a meme coin and i noticed that the hype around meme coins is slowly fading away, and they are basically pump and dump coins that can be easily manipulated, even by something as flimsy as a tweet. If you can make ROI in the short term i would advice you sell once you make profit, because there is no use cases that can make meme coins sustainable for the long term.

Dogecoin have served its purpose, I would calmly give you this little piece of advise, thoroughly go in for other projects because I don't see any promising future for Dogecoin in the market currently. Dogecoin happens to be categorized among those coins that have made their massive pumps in the market and for this particular project to hits the moon again will be difficult, remember there are existence of more promising projects in the market and we have the top whales investors that are present to make their gigantic amount of profits.

I'm not bullish on Dogecoin. It has increased in price more than I had expected. It would surely follow any bull or bear but the overall price of it might decay as time passes. There needs to be a significance or a use case for a coin to sustain it's price. The only significance doge has now are the occasional shill from Elon Musk. But if Elon Musk created a new coin or switched side to another coin, the dogecoin might not be able to sustain current price. The price inflation of Dogecoin is unnatural and it's better to invest on other meme coins that has more natural resistance.

I am not a firm supporter or investor in meme coins and cannot tell whether holding Dogecoin will be a good idea. What I do know is that Dogecoin is the first meme coin and if the narrative in the next bull market remains inclined towards meme coin then it will surely pump. None of us can predict the price point or when will it happen as it is not that easy to predict the crypto market.

Right now, you shouldn't hold it at least for the whole bull run.
Sell it during the bull run and buy it again during the bear market.

That for me is the best strategy that you can use if you are holding a coin especially now that we might be entering the bull market. DOGE has been the OG of meme coin so I'm excluding it for meme coins that I consider as "SHITCOINS". It being the first meme coin and being at the top for quite some time makes it a good coin to hold. Add also the fact that it has a huge community supporting it as well.

I'm not holding DOGE for now and I don't even have a plan on buying it for the long term as well, but basing on the history, I guess it's still a good coin to hold for mid to long term.

I think you should keep track of the popularity, trading volume, and some news circulating around Dogecoin, that will give you an idea on what's gonna happen in the future as well as it's potential value.

You shall not  hold it if you are think that will not be profitable for you. Just exchange it with lower mcap altcoins that has not yet listed on the big exchange site.

Dogecoin, being the first meme coin can't be underrated or overemphasized, and just like Bitcoin which is the pioneer of cryptocurrency, Dogecoin is the pioneer of meme coin. So as long as meme coins are still being mentioned in the crypto world, Dogecoin will continue to be relevant. And whether or not some meme coins cease to be mentioned in the crypto world again, Dogecoin will continue to be mentioned, that's the way I can picture it for now. But for it to perform significantly as it did in its initial days is not feasible anymore, this is not the time that we have only a meme coin or two, we have many of them now, so the money would be split in them all.

The fact that it is a meme coin with a higher market capitalization equally means that the inflow may not be reflected so much in its price, which also means that, unlike the new meme coins with low market capitalization, it will not be giving such a huge multiples income anymore. Above all, Dogecoin is a good coin and will still remain a good coin in the future. In a worst-case scenario, between now and early 2022 you might have earned more than 5 times of your invested money.

It’s quite impossible to answer that with 100% confidence. Of course just like you all we can do is speculate about the nature of movement of dogecoin.

I think it’s important to keep checking how it’s currently performing and act according to that instead of just trying to think about the future. You can analyze the market and base your decisions on historical trends. It might not be as accurate but it’s better than trying to decide based on what you feel.

Just remember that memecoins such as dogecoin no matter how good it is right now isn’t typically good for long-term investment and has a potential to crash after some time.

Why ask about the future of a coin that has been around for so long? This coin even continues to stay in the top 10 of coinmarketcap, maybe several times out of the top 10 but all major exchanges make this coin available in several trading pairs on their exchanges, with high trading volume.
If the future you mean is about prices, then all coins will not be able to avoid decline, but so far Dogecoin has managed to rise even though it hasn't passed their last ATH several years ago, maybe this coin again needs a tweet from Elon like he did several years ago which is the main reason this coin rose significantly and make the holders get fantastic profits.

As long as Elon will keep tweeting about it then it has a future. Even before he started to talk about Doge it had little value but it still kept trading. I don’t think we will visit those lows which we had before Elon.

The fact that he might accept dogecoin as some form of payment for certain products or services is why it will always hold some value. Just keep in mind that it’s being mined and the miner revenue is very high and if it pumps it probably won’t hold that value for too long.

Well, Dogecoin hasn't been making any noise yet but considering the man behind it is Elon Musk who always promotes it, they are not gonna go down easily as the other meme coins that were only created to fool their investors mainly to pump and dump it whenever they acquired the right amount to abandon their project. Doge on the other hand, is secured but you need to consider that every altcoin is not like bitcoins so you better have a plan for the future on when you will sell those because there will come a time if Elon no longer promotes it, then its price will surely crash.

I wouldn't write off dogecoin yet, it's the most reputable memecoin and I'll consider it as a top altcoin, with whales like Elon Musk, still backing it, I think that it can spring up a surprise in this bull run and yet aim for a new ATH.

Your advice is valid as far as I'm concerned, if dogecoin, is bullish in this bull run, then let him sale it and bag some ROI, then in the bear run when prices are hitting rock bottom, he can buy it again, and wait for the cycle over again.

Although it is very challenging to predict future of any specific cryptocurrency due to its inherent volatility of crypto market, it would be premature to dismiss Doge coin entirely, it remains an outstanding meme coin, having delivered outstanding performance in previous bull run, reaching all time high (ATH) of above $60. Its true strength lies in its robust support from celebrities such as prominent entrepreneur Elon Musk.
