As much as I like that idea, I really don't want to do that because I'm going to be seeing that I'd be hating that passion no matter how much I'd love that, money is a pollutant in my opinion and if I'm doing something that I'm passionate about then that means that I want some peace of mind and that will never become a thing when people order the stuff that I do for fun when I decide to make a profit out of it, sure there are some passionate people that would be able to turn it into a profit but I'm the kind that would rather starve than take away what makes my life more chill and bearable. There's also the fact that not all passion filled hobbies are profitable in the long-term anyway.

Gaming as my passion and earning with it was good. I wasn't on the forum when I have turned it into a profitable hobby.

RPG games where you can sell items into real money before and as well as MOBA games. It was fun until I lost my passion into it and then it is no longer applicable because I dont have time to it anymore.

I still play games but randomly and when I like the story of offline games I buy.

Tell me, what struggles popped up as you worked to turn your passion into a profit?

Actually I have not really made my dream come true. I like cooking and the process of knowing what works and what does not in a recipe is enjoyable for me even if I am not necessarily a great cook. So that is why I have always wanted to capitalize on that and build my own restaurant however I fear that that would only suck the enjoyable part off of my passion.

Maybe it is better to keep cooking as a hobby.

I think it's the most courageous decision you can make to be happy and successful both in your life but it's not always what you want.Sometimes your passion is not supported by the society because it doesn't have a scope and sometime family pressure doesn't let you to follow it .

There are one in a million people who are lucky enough to get their dream job or turn their passion into their source of income.

one person i know becomes a businessman after his child's dog breeds with its fellow dog. they took the dog into the park and it just breeds with another there. at first, they didn't mind when the dog became pregnant. after it gave birth to 6 pups, they went to facebook groups for help on how to raise those pups and then a few people were just asking to buy the puppies. after that day they plan to breed their dogs instead.

now even the chickens they have are being crossbred with another to produce some chicken. it has become his business already. their passion to grow with their business. their passion surely helped.

I love technical works, wiring specifically and while growing up it was fun for me for anyone to call on me to get they faulty electrical fault corrected and at that use to be fun to me until after high school when I upgraded my electrical knowledge and skills to meet up with professional standards and there after I began to monitize the skill and becoming a full time technician.

Although even up till now I haven't taken the skills as my main hustle since I have other things I am into and is still taking much of my time, but then I can survive on my electrical work to sustain if that becomes necessary and needed.

That sounds so interesting!  What started out as just a kid messing around with things he probably shouldn't have been messing with turned into a real honest skill that pays the bills.  Pretty wild how tinkering with electrical stuff out of plain old curiosity as a youngster led you down the path to becoming a professional technician and  i was a curious kid too, but my folks would've taned my hide if they ever caught me playing with anything even remotely dangerous like electrical wires.  Probably saved me from getting zapped good!

That's a story from when I was still quite young in college, I had a little skill in painting and really loved that field. On weekends I often bring tools to the park to paint according to everyone's needs. Even though it's not a job that brings in a lot of income, it really brings me comfort. Perhaps this is just a situation where I remember that my youth journey was very interesting, and now I have some ideas about growing plants (for medicine) but am also completely comfortable with my living life because this is not a job that I expect to make money, perhaps to a certain extent, each person will have a different way of feeling about life.

Does it count if I talk about a friend who turned his love for finance and investment banking in to reality despite not having a background in any of them? Well, let share that. He graduated top one percent of his class from psychology. And started to apply for jobs in the banking and investment sector. Luck was on his side and within two years, he has worked in a commercial bank, an investment bank , and, currently in one of the big4s. As as undergrad he was passionate about numbers and investment banking when was already in penultimate years on campus. He's doing what he loves and making big bucks from it.

I have always had that pla but couldn't execute as of now but I can say I am very close to turning my passion into profit and I would tell you how it's done as i have friends who are YouTubers and their channel is specialized in their interest I mean their genre is based on their hobby like travelling, food vloggers. There are people who love cooking they start their channel or small cafe. I am trying something similar but will take some time as I don't want to fail hence doing all the experiments.

Doing something you love and getting paid for it is really amazing. Till today it’s still one of my biggest prayer to get paid for doing what I love, I’m a grassroot footballer praying to go Pro someday. I could play football for free, then imagine getting paid playing soccer, that my biggest prayer point. So turning your passion into profit is one of the best way to invest in yourself, because even when you going through hard time it the passion that will keep you going.

I have a friend who have always wanted to to be a forex trader, he spent years learning and putting in so much resources into  it, he even went on to sell his bike just to make it through Forex trading. Others that were into it with him withdrawn and said they can’t continue but he didn’t give up, because he was passionate about forex. It been like 2 years now and I saw him last month, he is currently doing so much well and we discussed about his forex journey, the ups and downs and how passion kept him going. So I will always say invest in what you enjoy doing because you will never get bored or tired of doing it.

I'm a good exam of this for real! It's funny how I used my hobby to as a means of earning (monetized my hobby). I loved to be creative and I usually snap any thing I see, I take pictures of almost every thing and some time ago my elder sister started asking me to take her pictures with my mobile phone, I was good at it as it was my hobbycraft, people saw this pictures how good it was and started begging me to snap them and they will pay for it, i never accepted because i was doing it for work but a hobby but when i saw that was a means to make money I switched to monetizing it, although it became hard as my intention was all about the money and nothing else mattered anymore. I struggled to even get a camera but it wasn't possible so I borrowed anytime I got opportunity or I was hired for the job.

I'm even hoping to get one of my own soon, although I'm now getting mature to handle things back then I was a kid.

As I have just disclosed in a previous post, I got interested in Bitcoin and other cryptos a few months after I quitted a job I didn't like. I knew Bitcoin before, but had some doubts whether it was serious business.

So, between 2017 and 2018, when I was at my worst emotionally and financially, I followed this new passion and managed to recover thanks to this hobby.

Just because it worked for me does not mean that I will continue to do it for others in the future, but I'm glad to be able to share my story with you and maybe bring some hope to those who are in the same situation I was back then.

Like I read in a thread that the best nature of job someone get is that very one which he/she has passion in doing. So you'd be surged at great energies to work even under pressures and multitasking. That's to say you don't find any of those tasks stressful simply because you're enjoying it.
There are literally people who've passion over doing a particular thing for free because they enjoys it while there are people who earns payments on doing it and yet they complains at it.

I personally have passion for cooking and I believe if I ventures in restaurant that I'd do greatly in earning income out of it.
With i and my wife at home including when I was living with my parents, I'd always ask them to stay back while I do the cooking if I've the time and I can bet you all that I'm being rated the best cook in the family.
I enjoy keeping the kitchen tidied and well organized that all accessories would be placed visible and trackable.
I couldn't establish a carrier on that possession because it requires much time and attentions which it may bridge my other daily engaged activities.

Turning your passion into your job is a big step. I have a few tips for anyone who are chasing their dream:

Is there a market? Does what you do actually solve a problem people are willing to pay for? Passion alone doesn't cover bills.

Can you handle cash flow? It's not about one big sale, it's about consistent money coming in. Track every dollar, in and out. Don't get blinded by love for what you do and ignore the bottom line.

Is it built to last? Success is long-term. It's not just the cool thing you make, but the business that keeps paying you.
I get the passion, I do. But if you're gonna make that leap, be smart. Not every hobby is a business, but if yours has the potential, give it a real shot with a solid plan.

Based on my experience, I have found hobbies to be quite beneficial on a personal level. Because the process of pursuing a hobby takes quite a long time, whether this activity makes money or not, there is still a sense of self-satisfaction. I don't mean profit, but I think satisfaction from successfully perfecting a hobby. For example, making works of art, because this has been one of my hobbies since childhood, gradually as I got older I found access to sources that could make this a means of income. Unfortunately, there is a negative side if a hobby that was originally aimed at finding satisfaction is now increasingly focused on the income that can be obtained. As a result, the work created is not based on the motivation of satisfaction but rather the motivation to have high value in the market.

There’s no better way to make money than making money to do the one thing you love the most. I have always been an advocate on people pursuing what they love so when they are doing their job, they won’t hate it. I spoke with someone yesterday and I asked if she’ll quit her job if she made a lot of money and she said no. Not because her pay is the best but she loves what she does.

But, the reality when you turn your passions or hobbies into jobs, sooner or later you will lost interest and hate it. It's because before you get paid for it, you're doing your hobby when you want and you didn't do it everyday, but now you're forced to doing your hobby even when you're burnout.

So, would you want to hate your passions/hobbies?

If you are in constant pressure to keep earning and your only source of income is your hobby then there might come a point where you burnout and you do not feel happy doing what you used to be passionate of.

Instead you will feel drained and tired from working. If your passion used to be your stress reliever and suddenly it becomes the source of stress what do you do then?

Well I think it depends on what kind of “hobby” or “passion” it is we are talking about anyway. Those words encompass a lot of things for example one could be very passionate about science hence becoming maybe a doctor. I am sure they have orher hobbies that do not include science.
